1. PNGs DJ Schexnider. Moved to MLB tonight and had 2 forced fumbles, 1 INT, 1 Sack, several big hits on the QB, and a bunch of tackles. Easley at NT also had 3 sacks that I counted and a couple of other punishing hits on the QB just as he released the ball (one we picked off).
 2.
Did I hear right?  PNG moved DJ Schexnider to inside linebacker?  I hope they did.  He can be involved in every play this way.
You heard correct. Very good move. DJ forced both fumbles, had an INT, a sack, and a bunch of tackles! The new LB from JV (#32 Peveto) played well also after getting used to the speed of the game.  He knocked the snot out of one RB! He's a big sophomore (6'3" 200). I also thought #17 Hollier up from JV played well at CB. Especially with that hand in a cast. LB Padia #24 was back after getting injured on the opening kickoff of the season and he played well as did LB #22 Segler. Lots of new names this friday night on defense.

 4.
Well since merka(crosby) is rated the 34th best qb by scout.com I'm gonna have to say he is the best qb in this area.
Rated by a service that has never seen him play!!!
 5. 1. Doty should play QB at the next level. 6'3" with a strong arm and very good mechanics in the pocket. I've seen he a Merka head to head twice now and Merka will not play QB at TCU, but he is a good athlete with good size so they will find a spot for him somewhere. 2. Gonzo from LCM is the best offensive player in 4A so far. He scrambles well and throws a pretty good ball, not a better passer than Doty. 3. Taylor from Hardin has great numbers, but how many throws does he actually make down the field? Same goes for Gonzo? Lots of WR screens from what I have seen. 4. I don't know much about the kid from Huffman so I can't really comment other than he puts up big numbers...Could it be the same as Taylor and Gonzo above?
 6.
While it's true that LCM hasn't won district in several years, teams can go up and down in their skill level every year and this school, just like PNG, has gone 10-0 before and if memory serves me right, that was when WOS was in our district. Lumberton may not have been completely on their game last Friday, but the defensive showing that LCM put on was one of the best I've seen in this district in a long time. Maybe they just had a real good night where everything clicked just right, but I wouldn't be one bit surprised if their performance becomes the norm for them.
Nope. PNG went 10-0 last year for the first time in 30+ years. In 1999 PNG went 9-1 during the regular season. That one loss came against....WOS! Anybody give any creedence to PNG actually being a big part of why Livingstons defense looked bad? I gotta say this is the best offense I have ever seen from PNG. Yes better than the D. Long led offenses in 98 and 99. This offense is more balanced. If the defense steps it up?? This is proof that Defense wins championships. 20 4A prediction 1. Livingston DII #1 2. PNG DI #1 3. LCM DII #2 4. Central DI #2
 7. Good post TappedOut.
 8.
I like vidors odds especially with 4 of the 6 district games at home! They havent lost a game in almost 2 years at Pirate Stadium.
Check again. You have 3 of the 6 left at home. You guys beat a Nederland team in turmoil and really banged up. I wouldn't order the DC rings just yet. ;D
 9. I got 2: Evadale Livingston
The Lions will cause us problems, no doubt, but they have to worry about us too.  Pressure will be on them to protect that pretty good Offensive ypg and that pretty undefeated record...
So who else would you expect to post? We are the only team that has seen them yet. I am telling you folks, that I have seen our defense stop the run against a pretty good running team that ran the same offense as Livingston in Gregory-Portland and Livingston ran right through us. It wasn't just because of a swiss cheese defense, I give a lot of the credit to a very, very good running attack from top to bottom. And my logic is based on the fact that lesser Livingston teams and Vidor teams have beaten better Central teams in the past with this offense. I just can't logically pick Central to beat this Livingston team. Trust me, it's better for our Indians if you do win. Remember a Central win and a PNG win puts us right back in the tittle picture.
When did Vidor beat us?  In the 2004 season?  Everybody exept Lumberton beat us that year...  Was a 1-9 team...
you know what I mean. You guys have struggled with Vidor teams since they went to the misdirection running game. No secret!
 12.
I feel bad going against a fellow 20-4a team, but I will roll with Bridge City.  They have showed that their defense is legit. Both have good offenses. But I think I would be BC with the big defensive stop (only need 1) to win this one in a shootout...
I love how everyone is now off the PNG bandwagon! ;D Keep doubtin' us. Just remember we have lost 3 games by a combined 10 points, all in the last minute of the game, to teams who are combined 12-1. We are three defensive stops away from being 4-0.

 15. So you lump all of the SETx coaches in together because you have witnessed a few rotten apples?? How many rotten apples do you think there are in th Houston area. Quite a few!!! I coach, and my daughter plays, imagine that. If you ask any one of our parents if I play favorites with my daughter, they will tell you no in a heart beat. My DD is usually siting the bench when she is not pitching, because she has not hit well the last year. On occassion we play her at 1st for defensive purposes, but we bat for her. Most parents will tell you that our coaches, who are all 3 dads, are actually harder on our daughters than the others. So not all local coaches are playing Daddy Ball. Our 14U team is comprised of girls from the following ISDs, HJ, PNG, LCM, BC, WOS, OField & Deweyville. In other words, maybe you just need to find a team that fits what your daughter needs. Most likely it is not one of these so called select teams that is loaded with players from one small town.
 16. WOW You just posted on another thread that we would go 3-4 in district. so which is it? For the record I agree with you. DI means no Dayton and no Brenham, but FWood ain't no slouch.
 17.

That is absolutely not true... Last year PNG had just as many close games... just got some good breaks last year and were 4-0 last year.  This year breaks are going the other way... This team is good.  Very solid....Just think they have lost 3 games by a total of 10 points had a chance to win every one.  But thats the breaks... They should win the rest of their games no problem.. They  ARE that Good...
Not a chance...  They won't beat LCM, and the Central and Lumberton games could go either way.  That being said, theres a chance that PNG goes 3-4 in district.
If you are basing all of this off of our record I understand, but using just a little bit of Logic tells me that the Indians that have lost three games, all in the last minute of the game, to three teams who have a combined record of 12-1, are not your typical 1-3 team. This reminds me of some of the Nederland teams in the past 5 years that started out loosing close games, but everyone knew they were better than the record and they finished at or near the top of the district. I sure hop efolks write our boys off! ;D
 18. Central has had loads of trouble against misdirection running attacks like Livingston and Vidor the past few years and I will go on record as saying that this Livingston team is much better than the Livingston or Vidor teams that Central struggled with in the past. And Centrals defense is not as good as it was last year or the year before.
 19.
The problem will come if our D-Lnemen are getting pushed around.
Get ready!
 20.

Last season a fluke?
More like last season the rest of the coaches didn't really know what to expect from PNG's coach.
No fluke. Last years team was better only because the defense was legit. Loosing our LB's and DB's has really hurt us this year. Our offense is actually better this year. If we had last years LB's and DB's we would be 4-0 right now. GP would not have been able to throw deep on us like they did, and neither would TC and we would have stopped Livingston on 3rd down at least once  ;D which was the difference in the game last night (poor tackling and last year's group brought you down if they got to you).
 21. (talking about Livingston)
Not sure, but they are huge. A lot of cut blocks. The only thing that got me last night was how a team could run the ball 60 times and never get called for holding? Especially a misdirection team. Of course we ran it 40 times and didn't get called either. Who knows??
I think our D-Linemen will hold their own.  I just hope when we have a chance to punish the ball carrier, we will put it on him...I also hope we aren't fooled by that misdirection stuff. But at the same time, they will have to stop us as well.  I like our chances...
From what I have seen of Central, they have suffered from the same issue as PNG. The loss of those LB's from both squads. This is were Livingston hurt us and IMO will hurt Central. Against a missdirection runnning attack the LBs are the key to stopping them not the DLine.
 22.
PAM would mop the floor with Livingston.  :D I beg to differ bout their running game versus the Titans. not our fault we dont HAVE to run almost everytime.  ;)
Here we go  ::) I never said Livingston was better than PAM!!! I said Livingstons running game was better. PAM would beat Livingston IMO, but not mop the floor with them. Unfortunately we will never know.

 24.
Memorial was the best running attack that I think we will see this year.  I also think our DL have been playing lights out since the Brook game...  All I know, Livingston better have another mistake free game to get this one... Also, they will have to stop our running game... That will be hard to do.  Jags 38-34
Seen 'em both and the Lions running game is head and shoulders above PAM's (of Course PAM has a better all around game). Livingstons O-Line is massive and they will take it to you, plus they have a couple of good backs and a QB that can move. Now the Lion defense is another story. We moved the ball on them at will. I predict Livingston wins another shootout 42-35.
 25. Thanks. A lot of offense, very little defense! I think we witnessed the top two teams in this district battle it out at the Res! Good Luck Lions.
