1.
Sonnier of lcm at least honorable mention.
Probably, maybe even Jalali or Nelson for HM. There are just so many teams running the spread now that WR numbers are outrageous.
 2.
PNG's defense has not caused many turnover's this season but I have a feeling that change's Friday night. We've been in position several time's but have dropped the interception's. That will change this week ! PNG win's 45-21!
Since moving DJ to Inside LB two weeks ago, the defense has caused 5 turnovers. DJ himself has forced two fumbles and picked off two passes (of course he fumbled one of those back 20 yards down field)
 3. If they still use the points differential against the tied teams with a cap, then as of today PNG would be 3rd and Liv 4th. PNG +9 (+16 Lumb, -7 Liv) Liv +5  (+7 PNG, -2 Lum) Lum +1  (+15 Vid, +2 Liv, -16 PNG) Vid -15  (-15 Lum) So why was there a coin flip in a IHOP a few years back to decide who went?
 4. May get a few 20-4A O Linemen on one of the teams. Outside of that I doubt anyone else from the district will get any recognition. Reyes (WB) will get some recognition. Lot of good 5A QB's though. L. Ford (KVille) will probably be 1st team! M. Roberts (WOS) and P. Lane (Silsbee) should get on one of the 3A teams.
 5. I heard they could score. Maybe some 100 point games in the near future. Just not sure if the opponent wont have 101!  ;D I hear that James kid is fun to watch and that this team will have several deep threats unlike last year when it was Miles and Miles alone. Hopefully with this bunch one of these guys will step up as the go to guy in the clutch. I think we missed that last year. Nabors could only do so much down low.
 6.
also SFA vs Cameron Yoe we down in penetrations and we were faced with a 4th and long and marler wanted to punt, but Greg Green our d-coordinator said otherwise and we went 4 it and got it, and then it was classic kenny ford going in from 21 yards out to win the game
I was there that night. We went nuts when Kenny got past the 20 to tie it in penetrations, and then even crazier when he rolled in the endzone for the no doubt win! Of course Them Gobblers took it STRAIT to us the next week. Like a freight train.
 7.
darn, hope he's on a recruiting trip the weekend of a certain game next year  :D Top 3 QB in SETX next year IMO with Singleton being #1
Green will definately be one of the top 3 QB's next year. He has my vote for #1.
Congrats to my Ozen Panthers (not mine when they play us)! Great job Oline!
Not sure the Ozen OLine did him any favors. He made most of his throws on the run because of breakdowns by the OLine and he did a great job of improvising.
 8.
Obvious blown PN-G coaches discision not to have someone back to not field a punt late in regulation. A solid answer to the secondary's problem is on the bench watching the game. #11 is one of the best atheletes on the team. Why he is not playing defense is crazy. Coach needs to realize he is not at Odessa and needs to have his talent playing and not watching from the sidelines.
#11 has a torn ligament in his knee. He is only suited up as a deep snapper on Kicks. Maybe you need to check the news on occassion!
 9.

Was it SHSU homecoming game Saturday? Just looked at their athletic page and it was homecoming!
A lot of people were upset about the poor turnout for homecoming, but then a poster made a really good insight. The VAST majority of our alums are from the Houston area, and chose which games to attend strategically. With Battle of the Piney Woods being next week at Reliant Stadium, it's probably pretty certain that they opted for that game over the trek to Huntsville for Homecoming. There are already roughly 20,000 tickets sold for that game, probably a little less than that. With Homecoming the week before, it's hard to get people going two weeks in a row. But then again, even when we were good we were only getting about 10-12 thousand in there.
What ever makes you feel better! ::)
 10. Last one to score wins. That hasn't boded well for PNG so far this year! 1-4 in those types of games. Maybe finally winning one of those Saturday will break the ice. Who knows, If you like offense come out to the Reservation Friday night, there should be a lot of it!!! ;D
 11.
So i'm still saying watch out for Vidor. Our defense is getting better and better each game. I mean we held a dang good offense of LCM to 28 points last week and scored 21 points on a defense that shut out lumberton. So watch out for the underdog Vidor is all i'm saying.
Vidor HELD LCM to 28 points?? This is what I am talking about. A good defensive night is holding an opponent to 28 points. As far as the question about great offenses or bad defenses in this district, look over the pre-district. Lots of points being scored against all teams! Does anyone here actually think that any team in this district will rack up 28+ on the likes of Brenham, Dayton, Montgomery, FWood or what looks to be a solid El Campo? Because with these defenses in 20 4A thats what its gonna take to get a W over these teams.
 12.
Am I the only one who sees this dist. actually doing well in the playoffs?
YES
 13.
Doty had 17 no 29 for 245 yards and 4 touchdowns
Doty had 5 TDs 2 to Lacour in regulation 1 to Gizzi in regulation 1 to Nelson in 1st OT 1 to Jalali in 2nd OT I thought the turning point in the game came when DJ intercepted Green and then was stripped of the ball on the return. If PNG takes over there I think it's over. PNG would have gone up 34-13 and Ozen probably crumbles. Instead Ozen got new life!
 14.

I still think that none of the four teams that do make it get out of the second round.
I'd be willing to go against that..Wat just because P.N.G isnt running the district, we're weak or something..
has nothing to do with PNG. We didnt get past round 2 last year. What did those Central teams have the past few years that went past round 2? DEFENSE. There is not a team in this district that hangs their hat on Defense and we all know come playoff time it's what wins football games. Best scoring defense in the district is giving up 23 PPG...Not good come week 12!
 15.
I can say it was Silsbee vs WOS in the 1998 playoffs. Silsbee won 21-20. What a game. Silsbee went on to go to the 4th round of the playoffs that year.
I was on the field for that one. Big shocker. I think it really propelled Silsbee forward for that run. I recall a long WOS TD called back because a kid 15 yards behind the play blocked a Tiger in the back. Totally unecessary (the block that is, the flag was correct)! That block, even if made legally would have had no bearing on the play.
 16. Griffin vs White...The systems dictated the passing numbers. Take a look again, both guys completed roughly 65% of thier passes! Just so happens Griffin plays in Briles system which requires him to throw more than White did under Rodriguez. If Griffin were at Michigan right now he would be throwing less and running more, especially if he had a guy like Slaton in the backfield as White did (more option football).
 17. Griffin will not be leaving early for the NFL. He is a very good college QB, but NFL?? Think Pat White! The reason for my statement about not being recruited as a QB, was because I read when he signed with WVU that one of the reasons for doing so was because they promissed a shot at QB and others had not. 2 years to groom at Baylor under Briles and behind a similar QB in Griffin wouldn't be a bad thing! I wish him well. And hope for our sake (local fans) he is real, real homesick and chooses LU! ;D
 18.
SFA - Barbers Hill 4 ot's SFA freshman qb converts a 4th and 42 with a fade for a touchdown!!!
I was at that game. This the game where the BH RB had over 50 carries.
 19.
When looking at a receiver I look at alot of things, hands, running great routes, etc. Sonnier runs all the routes, has great hands and for a guy who is not considered fast beats people deep consistantly. Roberts is a guy with college stuff because he is big and fast, but runs mostly deep routes. Saw the Nelson kid once runs alot of quick routes but has really good hands. Just my opinion Sonnier right now is the most polished WR in all phases I have seen this year and last.
Not sure when you saw Nelson, but he has more deep ball catches than anyone I have seen at PNG in a while. Jalali catches a bunch of screens, Nelson goes over the middle and down the sidelines. All I have ever seen Sonnier do is catch the WR screen. Granted that was last season. He is good at what he does no doubt, but I don't think either he or Nelson are the best WR in the area.
 20. I suspect Cody Green will transfer to another FBS school. He would have to sit out one year, but it would be a Red-Shirt year since he got PT as a true Fish. Also since Nebraska is moving to the Big Ten next season he could transfer within the Big 12 and not have to sit out 2 years, which is the case when transfering within the same conference. i personally think Cody would fit in great at TCU! If JJ wants to play QB he will probably have to go FCS. Before you guys get all bent outta shape and insinuate that I am downing the kid as a QB, I am not, but facts are facts, the local FBS schools did not recruit him as a QB for a reason and I doubt anything that occured at WVU changed those opinions. Maybe one of the smaller FBS schools like UNT, ULM or LaTech?? If he goes to Baylor he will not start at QB for the next couple of seasons...RGIII is a stud!
 21.
The Peveto kid was a QB in OF and supposedly was real good. I heard that in the spring he may be looking to move back to qb.
Miller will be QB next year, maybe Peveto will be his backup and start on defense, then start at QB his Senior season?? Miller is a big kid also, with a pretty good arm, not Doty's arm, but pretty good. Miller is a very smart kid and unlike Doty, he has some speed! He is 6'3" 190. I can see us running with him more next year. I was impressed with Peveto last Friday night once he got used to the speed of the game (took a series or two). He smacked the QB on the edge on one play! Ouch. I also liked the fact that Faircloth brought these guys up from JV to play, not sit the bench. It drove me insane three years ago watching Schexneider, Lunceford, Thompson, Easley and Shetley stand on the sidelines for six weeks as Sophomores watching as the team finished last place. Go figure!
 22.

Three games come to mind for me that I attended: 1. 1986 (I think) Semis - WOS vs Kerville Tivy in the Dome. The best defensive play I have ever see to win a game! DB (I think it was Kevin Smith) while trailing motion man pre snap, shoots the gap between gaurd and center and tackles the RB as he is handed the ball on 4th and goal from inside the 1 at the end of the game. WOW. I was sitting right there in the endzone and couldn't believe what I just saw!
You were close.  The game was in 1987 and the defensive back who made that tackle was Quentin Tezeno, who but for some knee problems in college would have made the same noise as Kevin did.
I knew it was either Tezeno or Smith. Thanks. Tezeno also played QB on that team didn't he? They had a great RB also, was his name Cleveland? That was a great team.
 23. 2. 1999 Semis - PNG vs Schertz Clemens at Kyle Field. The Drive! 25,000 screaming Indian Idiots  ;D whatched D. Long drive PNG down the field in the final minutes to win a slugfest and move on to the State Title game. That place was Rockin'. 3. 2009 District Title (Week 10) - PNG vs Central. Blocked extra point returned for 2pts and the PNG crowd goes from stunned to crazed while the Central crowd goes from crazed to stunned. I have never seen such a roller coaster 45 seconds like that in my life at a FB game. I was just praying the stands at the Babe would hang in there for one last hoorah!
 24.
Wow. I hope that LCM and Central beat PNG, mainly because of how ridiculously rude and snobby they are about their win over a bunch of "midgets." "Ltown Loosers" ...spell check! If your going to make fun of us (which is extremely immature to down a bunch of high school kids, I really hope that you are a child yourself) then go ahead...but learn how to spell "Ltown Losers" ...and to say we had one good year, and we think we can hang with the big dogs...WOW?! Luckily, other teams don't post crap like this... And no I'm not being a sore loser either. We lost, it is done and over with...we will focus on next week.
Oh excuse me...I meant LTown Loooser! It was a reference to one poster originally, make that two now! ::) Funny thing is the most obnoxious smack talking fans I can ever remember on here were Lumberton fans.
 25.
Even a blind squirrel can find a NUT every now and then! You win one game in District and now your the CHAMPS again. LOL!  You want get past Central or LCM! Y
Yes we do WANT to get past Central and LCM! ::) So PNG wins while playing good Defense for the first time all season and the PNG fans are not sopposed to post. You must be a sore LTown Looser! Besides show me a post where anyone PNG poster annoints our boys the DC after this win!
