1. I agree godogs. I think someone will jump on Vidor and take a sizable early lead which is not good for Pirates and that grind it out offense. That and a bunch of Hungry Dogs put it on em Friday night. Nederland wins DC at 7-0. Vidor takes second at 5-2.
2. SCreek 49 Crosby 24 Can't wait for the SC/Dayton matchup.
3. 29-24??? Howd they score 5 points?
4. PNG scored 13 against WOS, but only one of those TDs was scored on a long drive. The other was after a long KO return to the ten.
5. Last Week
6. --- Quote from: BADSANTA on Today at 08:04:26 PM ---Lions fumble kickoff Tiger ball Lions and Tigers and Mustangs! OH MY!!!
7. And correct me if I am wrong, but a couple of them are on Varsity as well. Strong class. They have also won all but 1 or 2 basketball games as well from what I hear.
8. Actually Outanup the Sophomore played against both WOS and SC, two fast defenses. He played well enough against SC to get the start in the district opener. So this aint his first rodeo. Kid throws a nice ball and though he will make some mistakes, he will make many more plays.
9. Great!
10. Livingstons speed is not in question, especially with a healthy Collins. The fact is the Lions, just like everyone else 3 through 8 in 20-4A, have other big questionable areas. Reality is that the two teams that can mask those issues the best will play week 11 and get hammered!
11. Saw alot of coaches at Ford Park this weekend...Some big names as well...Murphy from National Champs Alabama was there in his houndstooth Cap, Lotief from ULL, and Oranges own Howard Dobson was there from LSU. As CrushCoach said, we were very pleased with our field assignments. I see alot of promise in future events in BMT if they can keep it up. Great job Ronnie, Nara and Jonathan!
12. As I stated before the season and believe that it's beginning to prove out, 20-4A is not very good this year as a whole like it has been in the past several years. The top two in Black and Gold are very good teams who could have nice playoff runs, but the battle between 3 thru 7 will produce a couple of lambs to the slaughter for 19-4A!
13. Good news is we got Lumberton in two weeks. Nothing says pick-me-up like playing the Raiders when your struggling!
14. Think AJ threw both picks with the second one being a pick 6.
15. Chipman had been battling a leg injury since FB began this year. Best guess is it just got to a point that it wasn't worth the potential long term injury considering his love for Baseball. I wish him well.
16. To answer ones earlier question...Yes PNG before Faircloth did take a knee, but that was a coaching regime that was from this area. When asked about it Faircloth was a little suprised.  Having coached in West Texas, CenTex and Dallas he stated this was the only area that he had ever seen do that. He explained that having athletes kneel then get right back up and go full speed can lead to injury. Anybody who has goten down on one knee for any length of time then got back up can attest to that. His rule is not out of any disrespect. Spend five minutes with the Gentleman and you will realize that he holds every young man on that field, be it friend or foe, in high regards for the efforts they put in to the game they love. Also, when a PNG player gets hurt, we don't get down on a knee either.  My daughter plays Softball year round and when a player gets hurt, no one takes a knee. I have been to a bunch of basketball games at the HS and college levels and never have I seen anyone take a knee when a player gets injured! And this includes the very schools that some of you that are pointing the finger at PNG are from. So if it's OK in all other HS sports then why do local yocals make a big deal about it each year on Friday Nights? My take is it's just another chance for some to point the finger this way and say we think we are better than everyone else...Well glass houses!!!
17. You will not beat WOS through the air! They are vulnerable if you can spread em out and pound it at em, but you gotta be patient and keep working the ground game. I thought we would have faired much better had we taken that approach. At least we could have kept it low scoring and close enough to have a shot.
18. Now 22-22 PNG/WOS.  2 min left 3rd
19. Now 16-14 WOS.  5 to play in 3rd
20. WOS JV 16 PNG JV  6. Halftime Lemoine at QB for PNG for whoever asked earlier
21. Walker has only been at PNG for 1 year. He moved from HF before his Freshman year. Not any real ties to PNG. The folks that have called for him over AJ are not his "faithful" I can gaurantee you that. His "faithful" support AJ in his Senior campaign wholeheartedly as do I. Now what I have no problem with is getting 2 very good athletes on the field at the same time...If this means AJ at WR some then so be it. His skill set, size and straightline speed, probably is better served at WR then Walkers would be elsewhere?? In other words Walker probably doesn't help the offense with himself at WR or RB like AJ can if you have another good QB. Think Tanehill moving to WR versus Johnson moving to WR for A&M a few years back. Johnson was not the athlete Tanehill was so it made since to keep him at QB and use Tanehill at WR to get the both on the field at the same time.

Tries to get to the line to spike it and time runs out just before. Great game.
yep! thats the one.  ;) alot of [s]bad[/s] Hooks calls by the refs in that game.  ;)
Yep...Long was injured on a late hit and WOS was flagged for it. Hooks comes out like he is checking on Long and starts to argue the call with the officials while Long is laying on the turf.  Lost some respect for one of the great coaches of our time in HS FB that night. I know he just got caught up in the game, but he'd been around long enough to know to temper down till after the player was tended to.

'00 WOS at PNG...PNG kicks away from Franks on the 2nd half kickoff. Balls goes out of bounds. Move us back 5 yards and for some reason we decide to kick deep to Franks??  :o TD Franks and WOS wins 7-0! They went on to the State title game against Ennis that year.
24.

I have a funny feeling AJ will be sharing time under center with walker this game...jmho
This will be the biggest coaching blunder.... Remember if aint broke, don't fix it! Offense wasn't broke.  However, the NDN defense, if I was the coach, that would keep up at night worrying.  This is 20-4A after all. Ozen, Vidor, Nederland, Central.....oh the nightmares I would be having trying to find a defense to stop them. It could be a long season if the focus is not put where it needs to be.  Politics doesn't sell football tickets - WINNING does! There could be several fires at the ol' reservation this year.
Offense wasn't broke?  They totaled 210 yards on 64 plays. Thats 3.3 yards per play of which they averaged 1.6 on the ground...Thats broke. Was it AJ? No. I'd say for his first start he did well enough to warrant another start. There aint no politics going on at PNG. Love it when a Bulldog fan tries to stir the PNG Pot!  ;D
