1. With that facility maybe SL is positioning themselves for a future MiLB team like Frisco in the Dallas area.  I could see the SL Skeeters in the Texas League with the CC Hooks in AAA and OKC elsewhere in the near future. Does Nolan still have part ownership of the CC franchise? If so then maybe CC moves into the Rangers org in the near future with SL the Stros AA and OKC remaining the Stros AAA.
 2. Looks to me like they are going to have to expand that league down south or the Sugar Land Skeeters are gonna go broke real quick!
 3.
After reading the Beaumont Enterprise article, I feel that some people have been miss led. Out of the previous ADs at HF since Tarver, only one chose to leave on their own accord, Price. The HF admin. chose not to renew Walker's contract, and made special arrangements for Mangnan not to continue his roll as AD. I dont feel that Price used a 0-10 season as a stepping stone for a resume builder, when he had a winning record with Barbers Hill. As for the fans in the stands, I feel that you should be in the stands as support for the kids win or lose as well as whoever is coaching your kids. If you do not support the coaches, reguardless of who they are, your kids will never give their all for them, setting themselves up for guaranteed failure. The 70's 80's and 90's were led by coaches that the community did not like until they were gone. Each of which will be considered for HS coaching hall of fame. That being said, I feel that you should support whoever is hired for the AD at HF so you can get your kids to respect them and get back to a winning tradition. This all starts with dicipline and respect at home, and not whinning and crying in the communtiy.
Post Of The Year!!! And it's only April.  ;D
 4. Sounds like a conflict of interest to me!
Whats all the fuss about,I'm a parent and I didn't sign the thing,Let's be real about it Lance was at HF before and left,we wasn't signing a petition to keep him then so why now.No need to go backwards.
Excellent point. Also, not sure you folks at HF are fully aware of this, but Coach Cary's wife, who is also a respected teacher at PNG, graduated from HF. There is some tie to the community that could keep them there if hired. That said...Your loss is our gain...at least for another year, as he will be a HC somewhere in the next year or so and the kids respect the heck out of Coach Cary!
 5.
It's a long, long, long, long shot but just think about it. St. Louis lost 40 HRs and 120 RBIs in Albert Pujols leaving for the Angels. Milwaukee lost 30+ HRs and 100+ RBIs in losing Prince Fielder to Detroit. The BIG SLUGGERS of our division are no longer in our division. Pittsburgh is on the rise, I believe. The Reds are gonna get better. And who knows what the Cubs are gonna do with their new GM. Yes St. Louis is the defending champs but it is very hard to replace 40+ HRs and 120 RBIs. Who said this young Astros team is just completely out of this division race before the season starts? You never know. 2 teams lost their big sluggers and you never know what might happen with a young team. We will see. Go 'Stros!
also Braun may miss 50 games depending on the MLB suing over the overturn! Astros could win 50 games! TOTAL. Gonna be a rough year, but I do enjoy seeing the young talent make it up to the bigs. Kinda like Christmas each month with a new prospect at MM Park.
 6.
PN-G Harrington's draft year was 2007 Stutes was 2004 Wes Cooksey signed a FA contract with Yankees in 2001 Ryan Robertson was also in the Marlins organization and Ben Weber played for multiple MLB teams.
Robertson and Webber both started their Pro careers prior to 1993.
 7. So Lamar played three outta the four teams in the Final Four! How tough was that schedule now!!!
 8.
per Texas High School Football: 2012 THSF Schedule Facts & Figures: Odessa Permian Panthers (2-5A) - Total Road Mileage: 2,074 mi.; Average Road Trip: 414.8 mi. Wow! That's a long haul.
Sorta misleading... This year they travel to El Paso - Non Dist Abilene - Dist Amarillo - Dist Abilene again - Dist Lubbock - Dist Next year they mostly travel local Odessa High Midland High and Midland Lee They do go to Friendship (near Lubbock) and San Angelo But Amarillo really gets shafted! All of their away games will be 350 to 600 miles round trip year in and year out.
 9. Whatcha wanna bet Carthage is doing the same thing!!! Sounds like someone internal that had probably been conspiring against him for a while ratted him out and he just had enough. By internal, it could be a parent, teacher, student, admin, etc...
 10. Livingston, PNG, LCM, and Vidor are all 4-1 Nederland is 3-2 Pretty tight race!
 11. Isnt Gilligan responsible for the talent? This is not High School!
 12. Good point! Of Course PK can point to the Nicholls game pregame and get them fired up! Also I get the sense that these young men don't want to let each other down at this point after being called out on national TV. They know everyone is watching now.
 13.
3 weeks ago, we were all up in arms after getting beat by SFA and Nicholls State.  Now we're whining about a play-in game?  Really?  I'm thrilled just to have Big Red still playing.  Let's go Big Red!! Geesh
BINGO!!!! I'm just glad to see an LU team finally play up to it's potential, even if it took 2/3 of the season to get to that point!
 14.
Hate to sound like a whiner. I've worked for 1.40 /hr,but $125,000 wont pay for their travel expenses. Which leads to another beef of mine. Go to Dayton and win then you get to travel to NC and play them in a 'home' game while NC gets to hang round their home court for 3 days and get ready. Why not make LU  or Vermont wear ankle weights during the game too. Hey I am the eternal optimist, stay till the bitter end, hope against hope kind of guy. It will be a historical win comparable to the shot by Laetner?sp and the win by NC state if they(LU or Vt.) beat NC.
Don't forget VCU made it to the final four last year as a playin 11 seed! and $125K will more than pay for travel expenses!!! It will cost them less than $30K to make the trip to Dayton then NC including hotels airfare and meals.
 15.
Lol but close Utah rpi 274 and nic st 298 lol lol
Whats the biggest difference...Harvard beat Utah, We lost to Nicholls.
If Lamar would have beat tcu or mason they would have gotten a 15 seed, if they would have went 2-1 maybe a 14 seed
The bigger win would have been Ohio. A W over Ohio alone might have gotten us out of the playin game as a straight 16.
 16. The tough non-conference schedule didn't help a whole lot in the end as far as seeding and that was to be expected since we didn't win any of those games, but what it did do is better prepare this group for what is to come in the Tourney. they shouldn't be overwhelmed after playing at UK, at OhSt, and at Louisville. Also that OT loss to Ohio would have been a big plus had they been able to pull it off. I can count about 4 or 5 games LU should have or could have won had they had there heads on straight like they do now. 28-6 with W's over Ohio, GMason and TCU would have garnered a 15 seed. And Coachacola I wasn't necessarily calling you out specifically, I was just calling all LU fans out for not being realistic.
Actually Utah was one of the worse teams in nation this yr
Not as bad as Nicholls! ;D
 17.
I'm really proud for Lamar, this year, but I'm sorry, if you win your conference, you should be automatically in the Tournament. What is this "play in" BS? Lamar has 23 wins! The last time they made the tournament, they got in with a 15-15 record! This is totally disrespectful to Lamar, IMO! The NCAA selection committee is a joke, plain and simple......and I hope Lamar crushes Vermont!
Last time LU made the tourney there was no playin game. And LU was the 64th seed then! Yes LU has 23 wins, but who did we beat and we lost 11 to teams like Nicholls!!!
But what I don't get is how Norfolk State and Detroit get 15 seeds when neither team won the regular season, just their tourneys.  Neither team really has a marquee win, but they do have some solid wins which Lamar does not.  I think what hurt Lamar is going 0-6 against top-100 teams and having some bad losses in conference (like to Nicholls State).
Lamar was the 3 seed in the SLC! The committee got it right. Take off your Cardinal Red glasses and you will see it. I happen to agree that the AQ's should not have to play in these extra games, but until they change the rules it will be what it is. The rule will never change since its not in the best interest of the NCAA power conferences (where the big money is). Now lets focus on Vermont! Should be a great matchup.
 18. He aint going nowhere for a while. He has to get his recruits and win. Also if he leaves now and fails again at a Major he is done. Gotta stick around a while and build a steady winner first.
 19. Nope a playin game can be anyone of the 68 teams. Of course the NCAA doesn't want them refered to as PLAYIN games, but we all know what those extra four teams were added for. And it weren't us low Majors!
 20. Correct. And Nova also has Football, just not FBS football. Sux to have to play-in to the tournament!
 21. The play in games should be for non-AQs since they went to 68 teams!
Keep in mind there are 6 total 16 seeds. I don't think Lamar will get a play in game but it will be hard to get a 15 seed.
Not so. Last year only two of the 4 play in games were for the 16 seed. One of the others was VCU/USC as an 11 Seed! WOW. VCU had a play in and made it to the final four.
 22.
One Bracketology I saw this morning has LU a 16th seed facing Syracuse in Pittsburgh!  Ugggghhh!
That would mean that LU would be the 67th seed! Behind either a SWAC team or a 15-18 W. Kentucky.
 23. Based on RPI - Im Guessing the 16 seeds will be: SWAC Champ American East Champ MEAC Champ other than Norfolk State Western Kentucky If Mcneese wins then they would replace either the AE Champ or Norfolk as a 16. If LU Wins I would suspect a borderline 15 seed. Depends on if Norfolk wins the MEAC or not.
 24.
LU has already been invited to the CBI and the CIT Post Season Tournaments.  I would think that LU would have to make it to the SLC CHampionship to possibly get a NIT invite.  I would much rather see the NCAA Invite though!!!! ;D ;D
It would also probably depend on UTA's status. If LU makes the title game and loses to someone other than UTA in that game, then UTA would get an automatic NIT Bid for winning the regular season (new rule from a couple years back). That would mean that LU would most likely not get in the NIT. Only hope for NIT/NCAA bid would be to play UTA in the Title game. Win LU (23-11)NCAA & UTA (25-8)NIT Lose UTA (26-7)NCAA & LU (22-12)NIT(maybe)
 25. Thats what I figured. The first McNeese loss comes back to bite us in the kisser just like we thought when we walked out of Burton!
