1. So no matter what the best we can do is 3 seed! or if SFA and LU end up tied records wise would LU get the 2 because they won the division or would SFA get it due to head to head? No wonder PK was so pi$$ed after the SFA game! ;D

I love what he did in that press conference rant! His recruiting just went up! National Recognition! Great strategy by Coach Knight.....what do you guys think? Was it worth it?
Oh man, give him an A+ for taking advantage of situation and turning it into a gold mine. On a side note, got word one of his recruits is ready to leave Texas Tech and head to Uof H.
Kid from Bellaire? Jamel Outler? He should transfer to Lamar...Better fit..
The kid from Ball. Pettaway (?) I think.
That would be LU Alumn Terrell Pettaways little brother?
 3. I would point to the fact that Crosby made some decent playoff runs under Flanigan with teams that were not loaded with talent. They also seamed to get better as the season progressed each year and played there best ball at playoff time. These are both signs of a well coached team.  I agree he will need a good DC hire though. I like the WB hire.
 4. I am sure Price left for more money, but I will say from a local perspective, the HF Football program was improving under Price. Folks from BH want to point out the record (and it wasn't pretty), but the fact is HF 2011 was not an easy out for local 3A district! Ask WOS Fans and they will tell you in a heart beat that HF improoved tremendously. HF went from an 0-10 team that was getting beaten 60-0 routinely to a 2-8 team that was a few plays away from being a winner (and mostly with the same kids). Also HF has a group of Freshman next year that Price could have hung his hat on and won lots of games over the next 4 years.
 5. He also pointed out that we should look at what this group of Seniors has done down the stretch the past three years and not be suprised that they showed a lack luster performance last night. Pretty good point!
 6.
Honestly, can anyone give me an answer as to whether or not the attendance increase when Lamar has local talent playing? Sure you will get the family out to see their kids play. 2,3, or 5 family members, okay I'll put in 5 friends within the mix too ;)
For the most part you are correct, but I will say that I know a lot of folks from PNG that went to LU games last year once Caleb Harmon began getting PT. Not just family and friends. My best guess is that with the signings of Nelson and Carr, more PNG and Nederland fans will come out in the near future. Thats not to say it justifies signing a kid outta PNG, Nederland, Vidor, etc. over a more talented kid from outta the area. I would suspect that ultimately if the kid from outta the area is that talented, he would put extra butts in tha seats due to spectacular play and it would be a wash anyway. It really all boils down to the end results, W's!
 7. had a shot to tie it at the end. Nice come back. Did Miles and James sit out the first half?
 8.
So what would/could happen if probation is broken?
Double Secret Probation!!! ;D
 9. ye ha Not directed toward you AAW, but I just can't believe it got so bad that we find this as a big deal!
 10.
I dont know much abut coach haynes but did he earn these "credentials" all from coaching at hardin?
No he coached at Crosby also and a few other spots as well.
 11.
Hmmm, thats interesting. Coach Haynes has 21 years as a head coach.  Coach Haynes is the most winning active coach in the entire Southeast Texas area with a record of 146 wins and 69 losses, 5 District Championships, 8 Bi-District Championships, and 1 Regional Finalist. Haynes has been named Coach of the Year 9 times and was also the NFL High school Coach of the year Award Nominee in 2003, holding the highest award a high school coach can receive.  Coach Haynes has also had 6 teams qualify for the 7 on 7 State Championship. It will be interesting to see if this rumor is true. But from looking over his credentials, this might be the guy to keep WB in their winning ways. Curious.....
So in 25 years as a HC at 4A and below he has 1 Area round win!!!  ???
 12. I would suspect that Collins in Livingston would be getting some looks as a DB/KR/PR (Ath). Not going to play QB at the next level, but could be in the mold of Harris who is doing well at A&M as a DB/PR. The big Sophomore (Washington) at Nederland will be on some radar screens this year. Not sure at what position.
 13.
ozen comes in at number 24
They were not the 24th best team in 4A.
 14. Ozen did lean on Jones heavily early on while Green was out and as he was getting back into football shape. He is a smaller back, but his quickness and vision should get him some looks from the FCS schools. We will find out more this year as he will have a target on his back every week without Green under Center.
 15.
Attendance 2746
There was way more than that there. I was suprised at a good turnout on a wet nasty Saturday. I've been there before when half the crowd of today was there and they announce 4000+?? Go figure. Defense was very good. Lot of break away baskets. UTSA can shoot! If he was ope from three he hit it...Didn't matter who HE was! %40 as a team on the season.

Got hosed again. I hate traveling to Livingston a couple times a year, so I can only imagine what those folks over there feel like having to do it every week! Just flat sux!
I would think they play the same amount of home games as everyone else.
Livingston has to travel more than all the other 20-4A teams put together. In the two year span, they have to make 7 trips to the Triangle in football, 14 in volleyball, basketball, baseball and softball. Whereas the other 20-4A schools only make 1 trip in football, 2 in the other four sports. Livingston gets hosed in this deal, not the other 20-4A schools.
I agree that they get hosed on travel.  I was just stuck on the "every week" statement by badndn.
Don't forget this goes way beyond football! So yes in all other sports where they play twice a week, Livingston must visit the GT once a week.
 17. Livingston! Got hosed again. I hate traveling to Livingston a couple times a year, so I can only imagine what those folks over there feel like having to do it every week! Just flat sux!
 18.

Twitter reports are stating that Kenny Harrison has accepted a position as Outside WR coach at the University of Houston. [Hidden Content]
False reports. Harrison has denied all reports.
They allways do! If that's the case then it must be true.  ;D
 19.
That's a big philosphy change for PNG. They generally use the philopshy of playing larger schools in pre district to prepare for district.
Not necessarally larger schools, but usually good 4A programs. GP, Tx City, Crosby, Brenham, Lamarque, some of the teams played the past 5 years. No 5A's. Quality is more important. WOS, Silsbee are the only local 3A I could see us playing. Jasper has the talent to be a good quality opponent, but I think the problem would be whats the point in going to Jasper (small facilities and a long trip) when we could go to 19 4A and play, get just as much out of it, and not be so sqeezed in. WOS is going to be good 2012 and really good 2013! And from what I have read Silsbee has a few pretty good Juniors next year, so they should be a good test the next two years.
 20. All that makes sense, sorta. I agree the best the SLC will do is a 15. UTA as a 14 could beat a 3 if they shoot like they did at the Montange, but history shows you gotta shoot lightsout to beat a 2 and a 1 has never been beaten in rd 1.
 21. Not sure how they figure this?? UTA hasn't lost and they move from a 15 seed to a 16 seed?
 22.
Not sure. I do know they anticipated Lynch not being eligible. This wasn't a surprise. That's why they recruited a couple point guards.
That makes more sense now. From what I hear the anser is yes they have an additional scholly open for next year. With seven openings in one recruiting class Knight has to have a mix of freshman and JUCO to spread it out.
 23. The Cards took the ball to the hole in the second half. Knight said after the game that was the focus at the half and during the week. He was happy they got the message in the second half. As he said now when they doubt the staff about driving to the basket he can show them the second half stats from this game. Tough game Wed at NWST. Gotta keep going at Mosley. He's gonna block some shots, but he will also get in foul trouble.
 24. Looking like Lamars bracketbuster is Lamar  ;)
 25. This is exactly the kind of stuff that got us in the NCAA doghouse a few years back loosing scholarships. Kids don't graduate and you get disciplined. Hopefully Knight doesn't get stiffed due to some of Roc's recruits. I know Roc improved the graduation rate from Tubbs, but I wonder if the last two years he didn't just bite the bullet and take chances due to being on the hot seat.
