Just saying, y'all got the ranking now. Everybody is out to get you when you're ranked.
WOS could be 0-9 and everybody would still be out to get'em. -

UNLV you live in some kind of fantasyland. If Lamar was a FBS program, I could understand expanding the staduim to 30k (like Texas State did). However Lamar is a startup FCS program. Once they start acing winning seasons and gain support, I would understand expanding the staduim. There is nothing worse as a fan than going to a game and seeing the fans half full (Rice is an example).
I dunno Wreckem2011. I know that utsa went from having nothing to building something in just 3-4 years from scratch. I know they are in San Antonio and don't have to compete with other sports teams with the exception of their NBA team. They have a dynamite athletic director, hired a "name coach", did a great marketing job to the businesses in San Antonio, and in a short period of time (two years of competition), the roadrunners are a known commodity, headed for CUSA. Having the Alamodome for a stadium certainly helps. Personally, I detest utsa for being so successful (so far). What did they win, 2-3 games last year, and they really haven't really played anyone this year to get that 4-0 record. that will all change over the course of the season. Can't see them being any better than 4-8. Point is, Lamar could have done the same thing. They could easily get the donations to enlarge PU Stadium. Heck, just adding seats to the North end zone bowl would be nice and an easy thing to do.
UTSA didn't have to expand a stadium. HUGE difference. Also they have a metro pop of 2 million. They were prime for FBS from the word go!
Well sadly I have to report that this group is now 19-1. Streaks are made to be stopped. WOS played better than we did last night.
WOS is a good team, but don't loose sight of the fact that several HF Fish are playing on Varsity including the QB King.
There are also reports of spary paint on the grass and field, trashing of some classrooms, and several signs posted throughout the school.
First of all if it was Nederland folks who did it, I can guarantee it wasn't football players! Last thing they want to do is insight the Vidor team...Think Fast Times At Ridgemont High!!! Second of all...How would kids from Nederland get into Vidor HS at night??

Will HJ become a playoff team this season?

"Will HJ become a playoff team this season?" Only if they put on WOS jerseys and sneak onto the sidelines week 11! ;D -
Wyomings Stadium 29,181, New Mexico Stadium 39,224, La Tech 30,600, thats where I got that number from but stadium capacity is not my decision the have never asked what I think about Lamar football
Beaumont metro is bigger than 2 of those 3. We have space and population for 40k.What do you think of ULL 50k stadium plans?
Yes BMT metro is larger than 2 of 3, but those three stadiums and universities you mentioned are the biggest things going for hundreds of miles unlike BMT where some folks will spend there entertainment dollar on Sundays at Reliant instead of Saturdays at LU! Doesn't matter what you do those folks are not going to forgo the NFL experience for LU Football.

Maybe this young man leaving for a private "football" school in Louisiana wasn't about recruitment, but about the chance to be taught by a real QB coach. Seems you folks think he has improved so it must've worked! SHAME ON HIM! As far as Liberties "Brothers", isn't it a team game? Shouldn't one of the other "Brothers" step up?

Best QB in SETX this season thru 4 weeks
badndn replied to BADSANTA's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Yes Sophomore QB at WOS (Rutledge) should keep the Ponies right on track next year! This Sr. Class of area QBs is down from last few years. Many of those mentioned here are Jrs including SC QB and Reed from Silsbee. -

To somehow insinuate 44 didn't make enough tackles is ridiculous. The offense lost the ball too much and the special teams made mistakes. 44 was stellar.
Chill out man...It was not an attack on 44...It's called humor and it was funny. ;)
Walker from PNG is young but definitely the best for his age (sophomore). He is getting the start this week on Varsity against Lumberton, and will be fierce in the years to come!
WHOA... Hold the phone there...Statements like this one is why PNG fans get a bad rap. Young man doesn't belong in this conversation at all. He hasn't even made his first start yet. I think some of you are expecting too much out of him right away. He is a good athlete and should be a good HS QB with more experience. He is the better of the two QB options at PNG right now. There is a kid in 9th grade (Morse) that will probably have Walker moving positions in the near future, which is not a bad thing since Walker will be good at whatever he does on the field. -
Funny that you mention Lamar playing the La Tech's of the world back in the day like LT was a powerhouse D1 then, now or ever! LT was in the Southland. They kept there program and are now LOOOOSING money in FBS. Hawaii this year, OSU next. What's LTs attendence? UTSA has a reason to be in FBS now...Huge student base, large metro area, large stadium already, and only game in town! Tell me the attraction to an LU football game for 35K a week? And don't say Sunbelt schools, cause after a few years when the new wears off that drops back to the old faithful 15K.
I thought the QB from Port Neches was supposed to be the best. Like 6ft4 and very speedy. Thats what everyone was posting. Any team would love to have a 6ft4 fast QB right? I'm not being sarcastic that is what has been said about him. Just wandering if its for real?
If you go back and look many of us PNG fans that had actually seen him in action before the season said basically that the kid was tall and had good straight line speed. We said very little about his arm and his abilities as a QB. I think for his future he is in a much better place now where he can use the tools he does have. OH and the kid from SC is best QB I have seen yet this year. Reed is very good and would love to have him in Purple, but the SC kid is another level good. -
I love all of this passionate rhetoric spewing from the keyboard of a guy who posts as UNLV! Shouldn't UNLV be a national power by now in football? I mean they are in the fastest growing community in the US and heavens knows the money is there. What kid wouldn't want to go to school in LAS VEGAS for four years?

Honeymoon is over for an up and coming HF team. WOS took them lightly last year, won't happen this go round!

Two good defenses! 17-7 Final. With the winner wearing white, black and gold.

Toilet Bowl - Lumberton at PN-G, Who ya got???
badndn replied to GoBigBlue1997's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Yea, whatever happened to all those obnoxious LTrain fans from a few years back. Guess they went from Raiders to Pirates! ;) -
I agree godogs. I think someone will jump on Vidor and take a sizable early lead which is not good for Pirates and that grind it out offense. That and a bunch of Hungry Dogs put it on em Friday night. Nederland wins DC at 7-0. Vidor takes second at 5-2.

PNG scored 13 against WOS, but only one of those TDs was scored on a long drive. The other was after a long KO return to the ten.
