PNG defense is non existant so if Crosby can stop the one man offense that png has then this one gets out of hand.

This will be one of the best all time Homecoming halftime shows in Vidor history. It will also be a historic one at that . With turf coming next year it will be the last time you see fire twirling, fire boards , flare yard markers etc. Some teams should stick to grass , afterall everything goes full circle and one day grass will be a sought after fad.

After seeing both teams , I believe Crosby is a way better team than png. I know , I know some disagree but ......... Vidor played lights out against Crosby and hung , although Crosbys starting qb was out and that made a big difference. Vidor came out very flat against png and shot theirselves in the foot to start out the game  with  png who had their starting qb which is a highly recruited qb and still hung. Vidors offense can only be stopped by Vidor. Both Crosby and Vidor are better "TEAMS" (notice the emphasis on the word team ?)  than png. All png has is Shug and thats it and nothing else. He carries their weight on his shoulders and I give him props for doing so. I know some will disagree as they read this through homer glasses but Im giving a honest anylysis of what I saw.

They are bad.   Can’t get a fairly officiated game, especially in mid county

Bootleg reacted to OldBuc77 in A Little SETX football history- SETX state champions in the PVIL
Instead of being productive at work I came across the PVIL website. I've always thought the PVIL was an important yet overlooked part of the football history of SETX and thought some of you might be interested in this. I knew PA Lincoln and Bmt Hebert had won PVIL state championships, but I didn't know how many or when. The PVIL website listed the state champions in football from 1940-1968.
PVIL State Champions from area towns 1940-1968:
    Livingston Dunbar: 1A 1953, 1A 1954, 1A 1958 (state finalist 1A 1959)
    Baytown Carver: 2A 1955, 2A 1958, 2A 1961
    Port Arthur Lincoln: 1949 2A (co-champs), 1953 3A, 1955 3A
    Orange Wallace: 1A 199, 2A 1954
    Beaumont Hebert: 3A 1959 4A 1966
Galena Park Fidelity Manor: 1A 1957

Nederland won't win if they don't change the play calling up a lil bit. Just Lil bit.... I don't understand how they run the same plays over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again and no one ever loads up the box on them. The QB can't throw, especially since he doesn't have that big receiver from last year to save his butt just throwing the ball up and praying,  make him beat you with his arm BH.

You hid out the whole game when it looked like Vidor was going to win.  Then you crawl out from under the bed and just had to make a smarta— remark.  Classless, and you want to talk about Vidor?  Pathetic.

That's a lie. The field was dry. PAM lost because of other things. Not because of field conditions.

I haven't been on this thread since it was only 3 pages. Wow. Things have taken a turn. I wish I could say for the better. But some of you guys, man... have some class. Unfortunately, it can't be taught. Neither can heart. I try not to take offense to people saying they don't want to live in Vidor. Keeps the traffic to a minimum. Personally, I love this little community.  It's a community of mostly hardworking folks that get up every morning and tend to business. It's a bedroom community much like Orangefield, Bridge City, etc. People live here because it's neighboring the big industrial cities and the commute isn't so bad.
I'll tell you another thing...you folks that live and walk like you're high and mighty...you're not. In my travels, I can tell you that people are pretty much the same all over. Don't believe me? Go to any Walmart, lol. Hell, I saw a rough looking lady walking on Boston Avenue in Nederland this week.. tank top, dirty jeans, no shoes. And I was like..Jeez, did she walk all the way from Vidor like that? A little self-depreciation is humbling. To those of you running down this little town, I hope you're joking. I love my neighborhood, and my community as a whole (well mostly...not too far north, and not too far south.) Especially during football season. I walk out my front door on Saturday mornings... pretty much all the men are doing yardwork, kids are riding bikes, the Cowboys flags get put out next to our American flags.
Point is - Having a standard of living doesn't equate to high standard of life. The poorest..absolutely poorest people I know..only have money.

    Back on topic -
I'm pulling for Vidor, but I know it won't come easy. They will have to play a near flawless game. Might have trouble breaking away for 60, but 10, 6s work out the same way. Speedy teams...You just keep punching them in the mouth, and knocking them on their butts, and they will get tired of picking themselves up. Control the tempo, take care of the ball, take care of each other, and miracles happen everyday.
