  1. If one returning starter doesn't qualify as "starting from scratch", I don't know what does. ???
  2. Yea, I am really starting to miss arguing with that guy. Considering he was basically "banished" from posting, I guess we won't hear from him on this subject, but unlike Monty Miller, I doubt he would have been man enough to admit he grossly misjudged the abilities of the "dynamic duo" and their team. Way to go Bears on a season to be proud of. I don't think even Mustang Blue could argue that a team with a 21-4 record is far from being "over-rated". Lots more baseball to play. It will be fun to see who makes the play-offs, still too close to call and probably will remain that way until the final game is played in this district. Best of luck to all teams.
  3. If PNG used their #1 last night and Nederland's is fresh, I give the edge to the Dogs, but as usual in a game with teams of this caliber, whoever makes the fewest mistakes will come out on top. Best of luck to both.
  4. I should have been more specific, as I assumed you would recognize a figure of speech when you read one. I would also foolishly assume you could understand the point being made in my post, but in the future I will spell it out for you. So, here we go- stating in a forum such as this (meaning a message board for public viewing) it is more tactful to congratulate the winners, or in this case, both teams for playing a great game- than to second-guess the coach (this in reference to your statement that "bubba" was left in too long). My reference to the "name on the back of the jersey" could have also read, "be a fan of the TEAM, not just your brother". I hope that is clear enough for you. Don't get me wrong, I think Johnson did a great job, but IMO was not left in too long. The bears and their coaching staff should be thrilled with the victory and not have to deal with second guessing.
  5. LCM Bear 04 #77 Way to go. Calling the name of a player for not getting to the ball hit off of your family member. Way to go. Second guessing your coach as to when your family member should have been pulled. If the coach should have pulled him before he got hit hard, that would have been about the second inning. Be a fan of the team. Not just the player with your last name on the back of his jersey.
  6. That is just wrong on so many levels. They have been "in" every game they have played this year and have even pulled off some major upsets. I realize they probably don't see every teams "Ace" in the pitching department, but I have had the privalege of watching them play several times this season and they can flat HIT the ball and once they make it on base, better watch out because they have incredible speed as well. They should be proud. I don't think anyone has come close to run ruling the Jags this season. It is quite possible they could pull off a few more major upsets before the district race is through.
  7. I think the LCM folks are aware of how the rankings work. I'm sure they are also aware of how much ball is left in the district race and what has to be done to make the play-offs. Considering the pre-season outlook for this very young team was dismal at best, I'd say they should be proud of their current spot in the district race. Couldn't help but interpret your post as sour grapes. Best of luck to the Bears the rest of the way.
  8. Whoa, lay off the caffeine there, buddy. As far as the subject matter of this thread, I think both clubs are relatively evenly matched, as usual in this tough district it will come down to who makes the fewest amount of errors. Best of luck to both teams.
  9. I remember watching my brother play baseball against LCM a few years back.... You can bunt a homerun in LCM's park.
  10. I'm not gonna bet on a message board over a game the high school kids are playing but I would think that there are a couple of coaches in the area that would pitch a guy two games in a row after they have had an entire week off and 4 days rest between those games.
  11. Congrats Coach Bourgeois! Coach Griff put in a few years at Joshua as a baseball coach before coming to LCM. Kind of makes the world a little smaller. Best of luck to a great young man, hope to hear more news on his continued success in Joshua.
  12. Just wondering how you had that one won when you never had the lead?
  13. What people are referring to is Mustang Blue, aka, LCM basher. No one has said LCM is loaded this year, or that they will end up at the top of the pack in district. They are young, but have impressed most with their record thus far, however, the poster formerly known as Mustang Blue obviously had some serious issues with the team and stated more than once that they were over-rated. The point many have tried to make in their defense is, you can't "over-rate" a team that wasn't even in the ratings at the beginning of the season. I like to think the young Bears are "making a name for themselves" this season instead.
  14. Really...I think you have some serious issues with your infatuation of Sam Moore. Send him some flowers or something, its more personal. I would love to look back in your profile to count how many times you have given the majority of the credit of the LCM "over rated" baseball team's success to him... I personally like to think that these are a group of hard working kids that are a product of hard work, good upbringing, good little league, fall league, occasional select league, and an exceptional high school baseball program. I am also thankful the pitching staff is currently healthy for the most part and those that have had to have elbow surgery before they even got a taste of varsity ball are back in the saddle....but we wont go there unless you want to. I could give you the numbers to some local florists if you are interested, or perhaps you could mail Sam a card, I'm sure you have his address memorized being his #1 fan and all. He did send me a private message last week with a disclaimer that he is in no way affiliated with you and that he takes no credit for LCM Baseball's success. (I think you may be starting to give him the creeps)... Edit: I went and checked. 5 out of 8 posts by Mustang Blue regarding LCM gives credit to Sam Moore for their success thus far, some of the same posts mention how over-rated LCM is....seems a bit of an oxy-MORON in my opionion...are they over-rated and we should thank Sam for that? I'm sure MB will be quick to clarify.
  15. Congrats to the Cards, way to start off the district race!
  16. Was it a scrimmage or a game? I believe it was a scrimmage-you know, where everyone pitches, everyone bats, etc? The reason teams have scrimmages is to improve and figure out who will be in the line-up once the real season rolls around. With a 10-1 record, in my opinion the Bears seem to be getting those things figured out. According to the weekly poll on this site, they just keep moving up, which is a good thing. It is based on performance in ACTUAL GAMES. Way to go Bears, you continue to prove you have a legitimate shot in this district, even with one returning starter. Props to this program, congrats Coach Griff, Stevenson and crew on a job well done. Sure seems to be a lot of LCM bashers on this board lately, wonder why that is?
  17. The entire post is just comical. First, that you would be the first to eat your words-you mean EDIT them if you are wrong as you did last night? So we should be sure to blame Coach Moore and the ZONE if they don't make the play-offs I assume since you seem to think he deserves credit for any success this "over-rated" team should have? My suggestion to you would be to join the posters protection program. I will explain, I'm sure you need a little help: 1. change your screen name as you have lost all credibility as a legitimate opinion. 2. in the future post according to factual information rather than how you feel about a particular team and perhaps you won't have to go back and edit your posts. 3. if you must post and you are wrong about something, be a man and admit it. 4. I have already quoted your latest post, so if you go back and edit it, everyone can still read what you originally said, so don't bother.
  18. I know the program well enough to know through research and personal experience that it is a bad idea for kids under 17. Why take the risk when there are other methods of improving your skills that have not been reported to cause injury in this age group? I wish you well, Play-Ball, and hope the weighted ball does not put an end to your pitching career before you are ready to walk away from the game as it has so many others.
