  1. ; ;jhj Whatever gave you that idea? I KNEW you had some redbird in ya. See, not so stupid after all.
  2. Dogball, I'm calling :bss on your screen name. Judging by your previous posts, they are all direct negative blasts toward LITTLE CYPRESS-MAURICEVILLE'S baseball program. My guess is, you are a red bird in dog's clothing still licking your wounds from the tune up game where LITTLE CYPRESS-MAURICEVILLE obtained bragging rights for Orange County. Some tune-up games are just that, you know if you attended the LCM-bc match-up that it meant far more than that to both teams, the fans and coaches, otherwise, bc would not have left their ace out there the entire 7 innings. You should really come out of the closet, being a red bird isn't always something to be ashamed of. I root for them when they aren't playing the BEARS from LCM.
  3. Let us not forget the quality tournament hosted by Bridge City while we are at it. Since pulling out of LCM's they have really turned their own tourny into the best Little League Tournament in SETX. I'm sure they didn't pull out of LCM's for fear of what might happen to their pre-district record, I'm sure it had more to do with soaring gas prices, school budget cuts and low enrollment numbers.
  4. I am aware of that, I am saying Griff is the one that tainted Long's cheerios....
  5. LCM 29 wins AND COUNTING....where is your favorite team playing this week Texasbbfan? Griffith-LCM, no brainer.
  6. Congrats to Landon! Does LSU-E plan to utilize him as a first baseman or pitcher? Great kid. Good luck against Brenham tomorrow night. GO BEARS!
  7. I couldn't agree more! This will be the toughest round yet for the Bears and Dogs. Brenham and Montgomery are tough teams with HUGE community involvement. Expect their fans to pack the house-they will also be extremely spirited to say the least. I know from the past Brenham brings every possible player from freshman on up, they can't even fit them all in the dugout. They are loud and try their best to be distracting. Our local teams need all the hometown support they can get this week! Best of luck to LCM and Ned! '''fy '''fyui :mp
  8. Griffith-LCM. Got his 300th win with the first game of this season and another (undefeated) district championship notch in his belt.
  9. Because Brenham has only lost 2 games all season, what are the odds they will lose the next 2 out of 3? They also have a little trouble with the lefties, LCM has one lefty. Start Womack, close with Ehlert, seems to be a winning combination against some strong teams. Anything can happen in one game. GO BEARS!
  10. Congrats on a great season, indians. Your record is decieving, anyone that followed you knows what a tough pre-district schedule you played and you were just a few runs away from the #2 spot in district. Hold your heads up. Best of luck to the seniors.
  11. Sounds like Powell had a great game until the rough patch in the 6th. How many complete 7 inning games has he thrown this season, I know he was out (in the pitching capacity) for a while. Hope they get after 'em Friday night-Good Luck Indians!
  12. What a loss for Lumberton's baseball program. I know he met with much adversity this season from players and parents judging by some of the threads on this board. I hope that had nothing to do with his decision. From what I hear, he was really on to something but his ideas on discipline, respect for self and the team were always met with resistance and controversy. I guess it is good news for the other 4A teams in the district, Lumberton will most likely remain in their current slump for years to come if they can't keep a good coach.
  13. Been to a game lately? Ever paid much attention to the teams lined up for the national anthem? I'm not talking about standing there with their hat over their heart, I mean are they standing completely still, focused on the flag, not fidgeting, spitting or scratching their butts? A few years ago I remember KOGT had a picture on their web page of a team LCM played in a play-off series. The other team was all over the place, talking to one another, one tying their shoe, no where close to being in a straight line. Then there was a picture of the LCM team. Completely still, looking at the flag, all standing exactly the same. It was good to see. I don't see that level of discipline much elsewhere.
  14. Griffith-LCM. A no brainer. Not only is he successful on the field, he spends his own time helping players move on to the next level. I even saw a news report last night where he took time out of practice to go over how he expects the team to stand during the national anthem. Who else does that?
  15. If BC had pulled off the "W", we would still be hearing about it. I would say it was hyped equally by both teams. BC was the team with "posters" and the works. Scouts were there to watch more than Angelle. I agree Powell had a great game against Crosby, but props to Womack from LCM, if there were ever a week for co-Player of the Week honors, I would have to say this is it. LCM handled Crosby earlier last week and Crosby didn't even get to see the bears top 3 pitchers. This week should be a great test for Powell and the Indians against the hard hitting Cubs from Brenham. Best of luck to all our local teams still in the play-offs.
