  1. Today is not snapshot.  It is the last Friday in October.  Enrollment can change by then.
  2. Money, less hours, and less stress.  Just guessing.  Getting into administration has become much easier with the online classes at lamar.  More and more coaches are going that route earlier in life because of this.
  3. Didn't Silsbee let go of some probationary contract coaches before school let out in order to save money.  If so, I don't know if they could get away with emergency certifying Brooks so he could be the head coach.  It would be a big blow if they lost both though.  With all the stuff going on in Kountze, I am sure Joubert would be more than happy to leave, that is if he isn't the AD.
  4. Did this even get posted on the coach's website?  Less than a week since Bennett resigned.
  5. Is this considered a step up or what (3A to 2A)?  Other circumstances leading to this?
  6. OF lost to HJ by a lot.  Today they beat Kelly by 8 and Silsbee by 4 in overtime.
  7. You better look real close at who they hire.  You don't want to waste another year.  Before you know it, they will be a junior and sophomore and got nothing out of it.  I still predict they are wearing hawk uniforms in the future and playing in the drum at the state tournament.
  8. I am sure that the AD will hire the best basketball coach that fits his overall athletic program.  What that means is this basketball coach must be willing to go along with the offseason and inseason weight lifting requirements.  The weight lifting was not Coach Richards idea.  That was an athletic program policy.  The new coach must also deal with the limitations on off season skill work.  Many basketball coaches with head coaching experience might not be willing to limit themselves in these ways.
  9. You are completely right.  Every coach should post all of their stats so that if and when they make it to the playoffs, teams who might have never seen them play or only got 1 tape on them, can know who their leading scorer, rebounder, free throw shooter, and possibly defender is by these stats.  Every coach should help one another out.
  10. Dove will be watching his sons play in a state championship game in the coming years.  For the Hardin-Jefferson Hawks.
  11. Changed expectations?  They have made the playoffs the past three years and went three rounds deep last year.  What expecatations have changed?
  12. At some point you are going to have to make a decision.  Are at HF for academics or for basketball?  If you are there for academics then you must live with the frustrations that you will continue to get with basketball (weights, coaching, etc.).  If you are there for basketball, then Dove, you are smart enough to know that HF isn't the best place to be for basketball.  You and momma have complained since the beginning of the season about one thing or another.
  13. All you do is gripe about the coaching Blue.  If you have such strong feelings about it then go somewhere else.  I am sure that you would be welcomed with open arms at HJ or Silsbee.
  14. Oh another thing.  Dove I am assuming #10 was your son.  He is really good.  Especially for a 9th grader.  I will be honest with you.  You better look to move somewhere esle.  I don't know if he is going to have the tools around him to meet the expectations that it seems you have.  You and your wife obviously have problems with the coach and I don't think he is going to change.  JMO
  15. Wow.  You people have been on this guy all year.  I don't know the guy, but it seems like fould trouble might have dictated a lot of what he had to do on Friday.  I am not sure about pushing the ball up the floor.  You had 3 guys over 6'5"  on the floor at one time.  Don't know if you could have beat them down the floor.  You have to pick your poison.  Are you going to outsize your opponent or run the floor.  Not sure you are that athletic to do both.  That is probably why your JV beats the Varsity sometimes in practice as was pointed out earlier in the year.  As for the OF coach.  I am up in the air about him.  I watched him the last two years with a lot of talent and he did nothing with it.  This year he has much less talent and they are doing just as well.  Still not sure.  Looks like he had a good gameplan for Friday.  They are very fundamental and play really hard.  That is what I have noticed the liimited times I have watched them this year.  They play hard.  Should be an interesting rest of the year.
  16. I thought the PG from HF broke his wrist.  Was he ok after all? or was this a new #10?
  17. Wow.  Is that the kids from the JV.  He was playing really well.  Prayers go out.  Do they know how long he will be out yet?
  18. How did it go in that 9th grade tourney?
  19. Why was he shooting the ball from 75 feet when you are winning 68-33.  Kinda classless.
  20. Wow.  This really surprises me.  I have watched Orangefield play them twice and they jumped out on them early both times by almost 20 in the first quarter.  I heard HF moved up two kids from JV.  Isn't this what everybody has been wanting.
  21. Or maybe Orangefield accomplished a game plan and played hard on both ends of the floor.  They slowed the game down as much as they could.  They didn't try to press them and speed it up.  You can call it what you like, but you better not count Orangefield out for a playoff spot in 21-3A.
  22. You can participate in UIL.  As a matter of fact, that is part one of the stipulations on the transfer.  You must participate in UIL extracuricular activities.  You have to live in the district for 1 year to participate in varsity activity of any kind.  It is selective open enrollment.  Orangefield was throwing it around but voted it down.
  23. I am sure that there are many things that the coach has to take into consideration.  First, he is looking out for what is best for the entire team.  Not just your son.  Second, what is going to be best for that player.  Playing limited minutes in a Varsity game or playing a lot of minutes in a JV game and going against the varsity in practice.  I am sure that Coach Richards has taken all of these things into consideration.  Man it is a little early for this.  Why do you think they are going to be that bad.  The only lost to Vidor by 12 and beat the crap out of Deweyville.  1-1 is not that bad.  Give the team some time to get going. Also,  did you ever think it wasn't his idea to do circuit weights on game day.  Maybe the guy over the entire athletic program is dictating that.  He is called the athletic director.  Just a thought.
