[color=navy][b]Not sure if they are quite in old form once again but this is their best team out on the field in the past 3-4 years. If they are gonna make a run it will be this year. They should grab a playoff spot in 2nd or 3rd but might surprise. Our district is packed with some good competition with Friendswood, Pearland Dawson and Ball High is playing in our district this year so it is gonna be an interesting season in 24-4A. Manvel is also a legitimate contender and might fight with Ball for the 4th playoff spot?[/b][/color]

It's really pathetic that a thread has to be locked because people of ANY ethnicity feel the need to pull the race card out where it has no place being! Also, to those who wanted to point out we scored a total of 46 after being up 31-0 at the half...it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure if we were primarily a passing offense that we could have used Wise's mentality and continued to throw, throw and throw some more. Instead we took out starters and ran the ball primarily the second half and ONLY SCORED 15 points instead of 30 or even 40 more. Pick and choose parts of my posts out if you feel it's the only way to validate your position but make no mistake about it, you get it but you simply won't admit it. This is the last post I will make on this board in regards to Yates....I wish them luck in their game today but please just win any way you see fit and go away! Bash me, trash me or whatever silly thing you feel the need to do but I promise you wont hear a lick from me on this topic anymore.[/b][/color]

[color=navy][b]Ok folks...Just got back in from the Merrel Center (Nice diggs btw!) and there is no if and's or but's about it? Yates is a machine for 4 quarters and if you slip up just for a second things get out of hand in a hurry! That Peter's kid is the TRUTH and I think that they would still win state without him although it wouldn't be near as easy with that fella on the court! LM looked ok but Yates unrelenting pressure proved way too much for the Coogs to handle for 4 quarters and sloppiness and basics such as simply getting the ball in bounds became a task in itself not to mention how hard doing the "normal" things a team does on a routine basis turned out to be. Going into the fourth we couldn't buy a bucket and our players were either too tired or intimidated to shoot the rock. Ah well, overall I'm still proud of the boys from LM and they are to be congratulated on their efforts. In closing do I think Yates deserves their #1 ranking in the galaxy? No, not really but yes in Texas it's warranted. Almost forgot, good luck to Yates in Austin although I think they'll be ok.  ;)[/b][/color]
