Reagan or H. Washington, and neither will matter. LaMarque and Yates on a collision course to the regional finals.
Yea and we still have a seriously tough task when/if that takes place for sure! BTW, I like your quote...made me giggle!
Looks to me like LaMarque is running up the scores too............
Na, La Marque has only scored over 100 points 2 or 3 times this year but could have done so many more times if Coach Mason allowed that to happen however, he pulls starters early and stops the pressing when the game is in hand...he has class. Look at the 38 points in the 3rd then notice the significant 18 point drop in the 4th...pretty much speaks for itself eh? With all due respect to El Campo, I believe they were the 4th place seed out of their district and were simply over matched.  ;)

 12.
another classy, close played game for yates.
The ONLY legit reason Yates intentionally blew out under manned teams was simply to bolster their position in the National Rankings in order to get to and try to stay a top polls. Most if not all of their district opponents were under average teams at best but that doesn't warrant them scoring 115 + even if their bench is playing 3rd & 4th quarters. I have nothing personal against Yates however I find it in poor taste to press the ENTIRE game when the game is well in hand...it reflects poorly on their HC and what he's teaching those kids. Just because you're capable of running up the score doesn't make it right. Heck, when we played Yates a few years back in football and blew them out by halftime (like 30 something to 7) we didn't come out throwing the ball to run up the score and humiliate their once proud football program. It's called showing a little class and respect!  ;)
 13.
They aren't traveling either. I asked why they won't play Bellaire, and didn't get an answer.
That's a good question to ponder there fella. As for the back and forth between PAM & Ned going on, I honestly don't think the cat was being disrespectful towards PAM merely he was trying to be realistic eh? Don't get me wrong but I don't see ANYONE from region 3 no matter which classification they may come from running 4 full quarters with Yates starters period! We'll (LM) eventually cross paths with them but unless we can break that press and score easy baskets while slowing the pace of the game it will turn into a LOOOONG night for us as well! I'm quite sure our boys wont be intimidated either but we better bring our "A" game to seriously contend athlete for athlete the entire game. Don't forget their starters are the same guys from last year who have had another year together to improve even more. I do however look forward to the eventual match-up down the road and who knows, that's why they play games on the hardwood instead of on paper or the internet?  :-\
Yea, was bummed with the quality of coaching this year at LM. We weren't ready to make a run at a title or anything but with the talent that was on the field it was sad that we failed to make the playoffs again! Furthermore, that HC absolutely refused to make adjustments when need be! It's sad when old ladies in the crowd can point out the obvious that's taking place on the field! Anyway, my nephew #10 Jordan Dotson plays starting point guard/shooting guard on LM B-Ball team.
LaMarque looking good in BB this year. Take it to Yates! ;D
Yates is a juggernaut to have to deal with as they are tough! Can we beat them...maybe? Will we beat them..not likely? We changed our defensive philosophy on defense to mimic Yates but athlete for athlete vs. them we're out talented. I think if we're pressed hard then we'll crack? Who knows though...that's why they play the games eh?

 24. Yea you guys really put a hurting to us and you got it pegged Einstein. We played Northshore fella...a 5A powerhouse who has 3 times the enrollment than us. I'd say 44-34 is respectable however if you disagree I'm sure Lumberton could call Northshore and schedule them next year and find out for themselves what we were up against? Coog88, looks like LaMarque is starting to get that old swagger back. That's a very good showing against a great North Shore team. We're getting there but we still are a very young team with tons of sophomores playing many skilled positions including the QB as well as 1 of the excellent running backs. I appreciate the kind comments and I must say when I saw the size of Northshore in comparison to our kids, I was like Whoa! I'll be the 1st to admit we were out-maned as it was scary to be looking directly at the mirror image of your team in the sense of athletes and speed but with a significant size advantage. We will play a few rounds into the playoffs perhaps but our time to seriously contend for another title starts next year and will vastly improve the following year. Northshore has some hosses and 2 of their kids ran on the winning 5A 4X100 relay team last year. Although they beat us they were a classy group of kids who were well coached and I have great respect for their program!
