1.
I find it kind of odd that Nederland has players from other sports playing beyond high school. I wonder if Coach English contacts any colleges about hsi players so they have an opportunity to extend their playing careers.
How many players in other sports from Nederland are truly playing beyond high school and did the coach of that sport help them get to the next level?  Not very many from football(Dravanti, Micah, now Dionte);  softball gets more than any sport; and baseball has had a few play at the next level but not near as many as actually could play at the next level(Aaron Dalton, Aaron McFarland, Ryan Franz, all got their own opportunities to play at the next level by initially walking on at a college) should be a couple of more beside Sonnier on this years team make it to the next level but we will see.   The simple truth is I have had a son on every varsity team that Coach English has had at NHS and there have not been any players that could play at the next level on any teams except for this year.  IMO Kelvin Smith and Chris Cunningham are the only two players that Coach English has had that can play at the next level and they have been seen.  My sons will tell you Coach English cares about his players and will help them with anything he could possibly do.  Nobody but players and coaches know what goes on behind the scenes.  Quit trying to create distraction! >:(
 2.
LCM is much better team than Livingston, Vidor and PNG!!!!  Losing to Lumberton was a joke and they were without Gonzo!!!!!  LCM beats Lumberton next go around by 20!!!!! Now if Gonzo is out for an extended period of time then yes, the Bears are in trouble!!!!
They don't play Lumberton again....that was the first game of the 2nd half.  As for as being much better...I haven't seen it.  I have seen all teams but Livingston multiple times in tournaments and when they played Nederland and they are all pretty close. I do think Coach Harley will get them to the playoffs.
 3. This is the first year he has had any true prospects for the next level.  I have seen him talk to college coaches that have shown up to games this year.  Don't know if he solicited them to come but they have been around.
 4. The only team at this point that is not a potential 4th place team is Lumberton.  LCM, PNG, Livingston, and even Vidor are too evenly matched.  I think it will come down to coaching and I give LCM the edge there.
 5. Not you Soulja.  Your not the one who brought this up.
 6.
As far as the Nederland players, I DO know for a fact that at least 1 of the starters is from Port Arthur, Tx.  Didn't attend PAM, but was part of PA-ISD his whole life up untill high school...
I don't know where any of them went to elementary.  I do know for a fact that Cunningham and Forney have went to school and have been my son's friends since the 6th grade at Central Middle School.  They live within NISD boundaries last time I checked.  Furthermore, I know for a fact the Smith was at PN Middle School and transferred to Nederland in high school.  Although I know they are not who you are commenting on, Wagner and English have been in NISD since they started to school.  Mitchell is the only player I am not sure of.  But it really doesn't matter.  They are attending NHS legally and who can blame any of them if they choose a better rated school.  I chalk these comments up to haters.

I do know one thing.  In the second  half of district, I do know that both the # 1 and 2 teams in this district will have 2 more losses...
::)  :-X
It's true.  Both teams show flashes of greatness.  Then they look like crap the very next game.  Look at the scores... Then they struggle against teams they should be blowing away.  I think they will 'toy around' with these 3rd, 4th, and 5th place teams and will get upset a few times...
I wasn't implying that Nederland and Ozen will not suffer losses.....I predicted from the beginning that no team would go undefeated in district.....I just don't think they will lose enough games to slide out of 1st or 2nd.
 8. One game left in the first half: Livingston and Vidor are only one game behind the 3-3 tie of LCM, Central, and PNG.....so barring a melt-down by Nederland and Ozen, who do you predict will get the third and fourth spots for the playoffs?

 10. Depends on which team is able to set the pace.  LCM will want to slow the game down and Vidor will want to push the pace.  I think Vidor pulls it out by 4.
 11.
1-2 after playing the 2 top teams in the district. Not blaming the coach for the unforced to's. The kids had plenty of oppurtunity's to win both games. I'm saying that vidors starting five are as good, Individually, as any other in the district. They just make make bad decisions that are costing them close games.
Two of the Pirates are as good as any in district but not all five starters.  Those 2 could go to any school and get playing time and possibly start but not the other three.  If the players are as good as any in district, they should be 3-0 or at least 2-1 in district instead of 1-2.  Decision making is part of being good players.

 13. Vidor is much better than I expected and they will give Ozen a game. I don't think, however, that a close game that Vidor loses destroys the theory that playing a weak pre-district schedule will adversely effect Vidor in district play.  IMO the Nederland game may have actually showed what happens when a team having played a weak schedule plays a team that has played a tough schedule.  When it counted the team with the tougher schedule was able to pull out the win and finish.  Vidor was used to playing from the lead and not from behind....not a lot of close games to challenge them them in the preseason.  Vidor is a good team and I believe they will vie for the 4th playoff spot.

 19.
My opinion is that Weisbrod is the next freak of nature baseball player to showcase his talents in Nederland. The kid has bat speed and arm strength that is something to witness! The only thing lacking in his game is foot speed. The kid has a attitude at times and his dad will brag about his talents to anyone that will listen. Not anything new in Nederland!I feel that people are pulling against the kid because they dislike his dad.If there was a homerun derby contest in Nederland.I would put my money on Weisbrod. If he stays injury free, his tools will have professional and college scouts swarming around his high school baseball games.I know some people will think I am crazy for my opinions of Colton.Just about every time I doubt Colton's abilities,he proves me wrong.I guess what I am asking for is that people come out and admire the talents that Nederland baseball players have to offer. We have some great kids!"Let's Play Ball !"
I agree with you!  He's an outstanding athlete.  IMO, he has proven it in basketball and will do the same in baseball.  You are also right that bragging is nothing new in Nederland.  Most are a little more diplomatic about it than Colton's dad.
