2. This will be a hard fought game.  Vidor's starting five will compete.  The difference will be Nederland's depth.  It has allowed Nederland starters to get rest and stay fresh for most of the game.  Nederland wins by 15.
 3.
Admin thanks for trying, but this is going south real quick. There has been no confrontation with a dad and a coach in Nederland. Lately......This has been confirmed! Now, names of players that might stand out on Varsity that we haven't heard of.
Noone would start an untrue rumor on here.....would they! :o  As usual Nederland will have a number of underclassmen that will at least get a look for Varsity.  Stampley, Babino(Jr.), Weisbrod, K. Richard, etc.  Can't wait for the season to start.
 4. I like the idea of it being a totally separate position.  I recently heard a suggestion to make a Vice Principal/AD position in districts with multiple VP(s).

 6. Be careful labeling a young man as the best....I have watched several players over the past 6 years get labeled as the best....by the time they were seniors their egos were so big they were all about themselves and hurt the team.

Mojica is the best lead off hitter in the district is back as well.
I thought Sonnier led all lead off hitters in average ??? I will take Big Neds guy ;)
Jalali also led off for PNG last year.  I could see Sonnier and Jalali moving back in the lineup this year in more of an RBI spot.  Both could leadoff or hit in the 3 hole.  I like Joe, but he's not in the discussion with those two.
No doubt Jalali and Sonnier could help their teams in the lead-off or 3-hole but I think both teams will find it easier to fill the 3-hole with other players than to find as good a leadoff as these 2 are.
Sonnier can bat in the 9 hole if we can start baseball today ;) After this football season I am ready for something else   :o
I'm ready to get it started but have to get through what looks like could be a long basketball season first.
 8. Anyone know the costs?    Do they have a tournament pass?
 9. Memorial's defense was very good during this game.....Nederland looked really flat and were out-hustled....The positive for Nederland is the were weaknesses that were exposed can be addressed before district.  I look for both teams to finish at the top of their districts.
 10.

Not sure how good the hurt players are but I don't think they are good enough for state though.

I'm just saying based off tonight, the one time I have seen them this year, they are not good enough to compete for a trip to Austin
how could anyone from Nederland know what a team good enough to go to state looks like? :o 2 can play that game
so 2 people can be classless!
 11.

The varsity game was played hard by both teams Ned just had to much depth for HJ. The press just wasn't forcing the turnovers it needs too for HJ to win. I think they will have much better luck with 3A opponents who won't have as much depth.
I can name a 3A team that has depth and I can also name a 3A team that would give Nederland a run for their money  ;D
I can name quite a few! H-J being one, when healthy.....
Of course there are 3A teams that can give Nederland a game but don't make health an excuse for H-J last night.  Both teams had health issues with key players.  Nederland had Forney out and Pitts was sick and only played a few minutes.  You play the players you have at the time.  H-J will be fine.
 12. Like I have previously said both teams benefit from this game win or lose.  Both teams were without starters, Forney with hand injury and Pitts playing time was cut way down due to being sick.  It was a good game.  Nederlands depth and much improved defense was too much.  Both teams when healthy should go far this year.
 13. I have to go with the dogs.  Especially with a son playing.  However, I see this game as win-win for both teams whether they win or lose.  Playing quality opponents in preseason prepares a team for district.  Those teams that play weak opponents in pre-season to get a good record are never ready when the games that matter start.
 14. Report by phone is 75-28 Final....Nederland wins!

 16. If anyone is able to make it, please post updates.  Have to work. >:(  Hate middle of the day games!
 17. Forney has a broke finger/hand from football.  He is out for a few weeks.  He has the ability to make the team better.
 18.
Just really dont think you need the 'Babino' style catcher back there this year. Theres no Bellow whos money was his nasty dirtball slider. Pitching we  have comming back are spot and gas with the occosional mistake in the dirt. Why waste his speed? The catchers (Stamply-K Richard) could handle the job. Need speed and leadership player in center, not just someone to fill a void. JMO
You do have a point.  Ultimately I think it will come down to their bats.....I don't see any way that Sonnier, Schlett, Smith, or Pitts will not be in a lineup due to their proven bats.  Raines' bat looked solid the few at-bats he had last year.  Pitts(RF) and he(LF) are the returning players who were practicing in the outfield at the end of last season.  If Fontenot's bat is hotter than Stamp or K. Richard, I could see him at 3rd with Smith going to the OF.  If Smith goes to OF, I don't see Babs moving from behind plate.  What makes you think having an outfield consisting of three good athletes such as Smith, Pitts, and Raines, would be just filling a void?  Remember the above listed seniors will be playing for their third district title!
 19.
Thats what I would do take the best Def-catcher in the district put him in center field...I say set all the seniors out,, and lets get ready for next year :o Babino would make a good center fielder ;)
You may be on to something heartattack....lol.....Let's set out the follwing seniors:  Pitts, Sonnier, Schlett, all of whom were 2010 1st Team All District;  Babs-2010 Defensive Player of the Year; and Tyler Smith 2nd Team All District.  (I know you were joking) ;D
 20. Congrats Trev!  I have been fortunate to watch you develop as a player since T-Ball.  You worked hard and it paid off.  Looking forward to you, Jacob, Stevo, Tyler, and Bab's leading the Dog's to another district title.
 21.

1B. 2B. Razor S/S. Soneaux 3RD. C. Babbs OUTFIELD. PITCHERS. There will be several good players ridin the pine this year. A whole lot of talent. Starting pitching is going to be the key, bulldog defense is always above par, there will be no shortage of bats in the lineup. This may be the best offense we have seen in a while. Hope everybody likes the offense, next year (2012) your not going to like the new bats. Homeruns become routine fly balls.
Don't know who Razor is, but I can't imagine he will play 2nd over Schlett.  Schlett's had the position for the last two years.  He just needs the right exposure and he will be playing somewhere next year.
Razor is Schlett! ;)
 22.
We had such a great time watching our favorite son Cody play last year. The success he enjoyed was possible because of the fantastic play and attitude of the whole Bulldog team.If these returning players play like we all know they can along with the talent of the incoming players it will be another great year.Go Dogs!
It's easy to say Cody is your favorite son when he is your only son! ;D...lol...We will miss having the Code-Man and Kirby on the mound.
