With 9 weeks until the start of the football season, I decided to get the conversation started. After taking one of the worst if not the worst home loss in school history to PAM the PNG Indians were able to quickly get the train rolling behind their first-time and first-year head coach. They finish at Cowboy Stadium with a loss in the state title game. From the looks of it on this forum, Indian fans are gearing up for another great season with key pieces and big names returning. Across twin city highway the Titans were finally able to get the 1st round playoff loss monkey off their back after 2 victories and opening up the 3rd game with promise but eventually falling to Longview. This year's football team looks to be the most recruited class since the 2012 class with multiple players with D1 offers and might have the best player in the class of 2025 & 2026 in Setx. With each team opening up the season in the Top 10 PAM(8) & PNG(6) this game is shaping up to be one of the best if not the best games to watch in week 1 in the state of Texas.

There's a recent article in the panews where the citizens of Nederland was saying the quite part out loud when it come to outside residents and renters. Do you think this hard stance will eventually effect Nederland ability to compete and keep up with neighbors schools.

Yea I remember him. You can't tell me this kid couldn't have gone out there last year and been atleast competent to win that playoff game.

He's been inaccurate all night and he's no longer 100% healthy so why run him back out. Now watch we go back to the one dimensional play calling.

Nope. This the type of LP team we played with back when we were 6A and the old 5A.

I agree. Coach Matthews has said in interviews that Vidor runs its system because they don’t have the personnel to run other systems. That’s foolishness. The spread, for example, was created for teams that aren’t as fast or big as their opponents. Vidor is not significantly different in terms of speed or body types or lack of actual athletes than PNG and Nederland. If PNG and Nederland can run modern offenses, so can Vidor. The worst part is Vidor isn’t even executing their Slot-T offense as well as they could. Liberty Hill runs a similar offense and is nearly unstoppable. They don’t appear to be bigger or faster than their opponents. They just run their system so well it’s hard for even more athletic teams to keep up (Crosby took all it had and then some to beat LH in 2020, and never actually stopped their offense). But are Vidor’s players less athletic, less intelligent, less willing to play than comparable school, less tough? No. Vidor’s problems are 100%, and have always been, a problem of teaching. Get coaches that believe in the players and don’t blame the players for the coach not knowing how to teach more balanced systems, and Vidor starts winning a lot more games a lot more consistently. 

Both of those players have seen the field. I've seen one on Special teams, and his Dad isn't the type to do something petty like this. The other kid has seen the field also, on defense. Can't see his dad doing this either. Coach Faircloths own son doesn't see the field every play either. Sooooo, I don't know.....if he does leave, I'm going to miss those high octane offenses of his. 
PAM should scoop him up. Can you imagine what he could do with those athletes on offense.

So why not keep him on jv doing district and let the kid grow or use the garbage time to develop usable backup.

I don't know which coaching move is more egregious, Morgan running out the kicker that had a bum leg the whole year to kick a 40-50 yard field goal in his 1st playoffs lost vs Foster or putting in a guy that has taken 0 snaps the whole year at qb. But have a back up on the side line that arm is just as good as Sanders

Their defense is only tough because they have great athletes, full stop. Sometimes the problem with coaching at a school with great offensive athletes though is that they turn mediocre offensive play calls into great ones because of their abilities. Now you don’t realize those play-calls mediocre until you face someone that can wash out their athletes. Seems like that’s plagued PAM for quite some time now. 
 
What is PAM’s playoff record since dropping down to 5A? 

That's the sad part. I've seen the youth leagues coaches come with a better game plan.

Correct. They have 0 player development. I haven't been to a game since my sister graduated but I can guarantee you they still don't the difference between or when to use a bounce,chest or over head pass. That's basketball 101.

I think he’s saying PA should be more competitive, which I agree.
