And if Ned budget is that bad off, maybe the head football coach may want to take a salary cut, being he is up in the 90,000 range.

I think I've proven otherwise. While an AD may be able to hire who they want, it has to ultimately fill the district's needs. In this situation I think I've repeatedly shown that other variables are in play than just moving a coach to another position without putting other ripples into everything else.   I think if you were to look at other high schools in the state of Texas his salary is on par with others. Keep in mind he does not make in the 90 range as a head football coach. He is also the AD. If you look across the tracks I think they have both a football HC and head AD and spend more than 90 when combined so your solution wouldn't solve anything.
Across the tracks, they are not worried about there budget, so it is irrelevant what faircloths makes. And faircloth gave abel the asst., that he wanted. Another point not brought up is was this the only coach hired this year? A simple yes or No will do for that question---  I doubt this was the only coach hired.
2.

Enlighten me, cause truly I do not understand. A previous poster said Neumann had to hire this coach while fitting it all together like a puzzle. Why should Neumann have to worry whether this assistant coach teaches math, science, or any other subject. Did neuman hire this guy as a science teacher?....or was he told by administration that he could hire anyone he wanted BUT they also had to be a science teacher?
I'm trying to make it as clear as possible. An AD cannot simply hire whoever he wants. NISD does not have the budget to do so. To be as efficient as possible, multiple coaching roles are filled with certified teachers. I have to stress the word certified. You cannot just be a basketball coach and teach calculus or history or science etc, without proper certification. This helps our budget in eliminating excess personnel. Let's be honest, most ad can hire who they want. And if Ned budget is that bad off, maybe the head football coach may want to take a salary cut, being he is up in the 90,000 range.
3. Mmosely , to both my questions a simply yes or no would have been fine. I for one do not feel like reading essays. Yes on first and no on second.
4. Oh and mmosley do u think that a coach being a freshman football coach is the same thing as being an  varsity asst., for a different sport? My other question may have got left off, but since you consider education first then I assume you would think that an oc and dc should teach a class besides athletics only?
5.

What do u consider number one in Ned? I think most schools consider number one to be the district champs. Do you and Nederland football consider it to be something different?
I consider education to be the most important and I think I've made that clear through my posts. Walker was hired to first fill a science teaching position along with 3 other coaching assistant spots. Like I said, if we want to fund the schools more to provide specialized teachers in all subjects and assistant and coaching positions I'm ALL FOR IT. Many of you are not taking into consideration other factors that come into play when filling teaching and coaching positions and how it all has to fit together. So if u consider education first, do u think oc and dc should teach a class besides athletics?
All this is spoken like true football players.
Please, enlighten me on how I've advocated for football in anyway. If anything I've advocated for what's best for everyone and clearly stated multiple times that I thought Coach English is an excellent coach and leader. Which is why I said he will have no problem in molding Walker into the basketball assistant he needs to be successful.  Honest Abe, you sure do bring a lot to this conversation. You state a bunch of nonsense in the beginning and follow it up with redbox comments and smiley faces.
6.
But basketball is supposed to be #1 in Nederland and Neumann is sabotaging us!! [IMG][Hidden Content]] I watched my first Nederland Bulldog basketball game about 40 years ago and I find this thread is better than renting a comedy at Redbox.  :D
What do u consider number one in Ned? I think most schools consider number one to be the district champs. Do you and Nederland football consider it to be something different?
7. Hate to say it, but there is no longer a reason for the CHAPTERS to come together. The TASO chapter is gettting it done. Business like and it shows. If the other U.I.L. officials want to improve the quality of officials in the TASO chapter, then join. Otherwise...................?
8. Oh and I believe rhe dog dome was a indoor practice facility before, when the new gym was built, and neauman failed to get first or second in district that year also
9. Coach neauman aka (never won district ) knew that coach English Aka ( two time district champ) was a basketball first Coach, when neauman hired him, so If he doesn't like English winning more than him, he can retire and let one of faircloths asst., take over and show Ned football what a district champioship feels like
10. The coaching part would have nothing to do with it. It's that an uncertified person is teaching where an certified person could be teaching. Now with all that being said I think Ira is the best for the job. But it should be done rt.
11. Ur rt speechless, and it's called foul play
12. His point is u can only be at a school for so many years without being certified. So back to my question, how long has he been at silsbee, because if he has been there for x number of years, then yes it is foul play
13. Aggies u are wrong about 6 out of last 7. And oldtimer I have some ocean front property in Arizona for you Lsu 27-20-3 vs aggies
14. Just got his degree, how long has he been coaching?
15. I called it again, give title to someone else, and let ira coach. Silsbee now has to hope he can pass a test as soon as possible. A test he had failed to pass for ( I have no idea ) more than the time aloud at a school for sure.  I have seen shady things, but this is one is rt there up with any other.
16. It's going to an asst., with Ira doing the coaching. I have said it in an earlier post, it will be done some how so Ira can coach. I said early Travis was going to memorial and Ira will be coaching silsbee next year, certified or not.
17. They wouldn't play for Ned. , English doesn't put up with daddy bullsh-t
18. Can't wait to see how silsbee maneuver an uncertified coach into a head coaching position. This should be good
19. And u and I both know what henderson team I am talking about. So don't come here with that bullshit, about name this guy and that guy. Blue
20. Blue are u saying they didn't play Henderson team a few weeks ago? Oh and win a district game
21. Bluedove, just have your sons win a district game. Blue which would u prefer to look good and lose, or look bad and win. I have a feeling we all know what u would choose.
22. I hope officials from both chapters see this. This is the situation. Not so long ago, we had one chapter. The chapter did not do a good job of filling games( the right way) or getting the officials to games on time. Officials and coaches got tired of it. A few members branched off to form an organization. The new organization is doing a tremendous job.........FOR THE KIDS! No problems. Only concern is that there are good officials in the other chapter sitting at home, or not getting quality games. If some of these officials would join the new organization, our basketball games in the area would AGAIN have quality officiating at all games. It is what it is! Until some of these officials realize nothing is going to change, then guess what? The situation that we've had the last two years, IS NOT GOING TO CHANGE!!! Push the egos and hard feelings aside and do it for the game , the fans, the coaches, and most importantly, THE KIDS! See you in November, regardless of the decisions made! Basketball season is gonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnna happen!
