Chick Fil A should have to open a location in Lumberton because it is NOT FAIR to make us drive to Beaumont to get a chicken biscuit. Is that going to happen? NO! Is UIL going to rotate locations? NO! It's not fair but guess what else isn't fair. LIFE!
Why are you yelling? and i dont live in Lumberton...

prefer games in Houston...hate Dallas roads and traffic...AT&T stadium is nicer of course, but you'll never convince me that it does not give an advantage to DFW teams having it there every year....games should be rotated between Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio...jmo

Silsbee always has speed...they usually can run with us...not sure how the new Silsbee coach's system is going this year for the Tigers, maybe they're going through some growning pains? Hoping for a good game...WOS defense needs to stop the run and continue to get pressure on the opposing QBs, force those turnovers, and WOS kick returners hopefully continue to give the WOS offense the short field, get those points on the board often...jmo

BC will be fine...but they need to stop putting the ball on the ground so much...
-
WOS defense needs to stop the LCM run game, make them throw the ball, get turnovers....WOS offense needs to score early and often, put the pressure on LCM to come from behind...jmo

I thought Nederland had a great crowd, until the rains came. but i dont blame them for leaving...that rain was coming down pretty good...WOS fans left too...unfortunately it wasn't much of a game...i think if it would have been a closer scoring game, more people would have stayed...jmo...

I hope the WOS defense can get pressure early on the Ned QB, which can lead to some INTs and possibly points. I think special teams can be big for WOS too, get that short field or maybe take one back for a TD...Should be a good game...good luck to both teams...

Man, we need at least 9 games...hope we find someone to play

Skipper is a VIP...rules dont apply to him..lol

One of the toughest losses in PNG history IMO..... That was the best High School game I have ever attended.... 89 season... Class of 90.... Back and forth see saw affair... You couldn't fit another person or television crew in the place.... And the fog rolled in late... I stood on the sidelines as a freshman........ Malone was cool about that, he would ship the underclassmen to the game in another bus and let us fill up the sidelines........ WOS was the team for us... Back then we destroyed Nederland every year so it was not much of a rivalry until Neauman arrived...... Plus you had to love ole Dan Ray.... Man he could work a field, and refs......lol... But Malone was just as good....
I was in the 7th grade when that game was played. To this day i have yet to see the stadium come close to being that full. I think it holds close to 9000...there was at least 12,000 people for that game....there was not a seat left anywhere in the stands....not an exageration...People were on the track...on both sides...That had to be the biggest crowd in Hooks Stadium history...

you happy with that?? looks nice to have all those "numbers" like that in order. let me tear this down for you. so roughly 25 years ago back to back titles were won congrats. (prior to that, when was the last time?). okay so, lets throw out EVERYTHING 86 and 87 because all that is doing is adding fluff. they won the title so the rest will come with that. so after the titles, 3 times they made the final appearances(look at the years between the span) four semi's after the titles again look at the span. seems like every 5-10 years. the bulk of those numbers are 1st and 2nd rounds. this is what i'm getting at. this would be impressive to me if the semi and finals had just as many as the first and second round. lets be honest, making the playoffs was not that difficult. maybe back when it was only the district champ went. most of us will settle for the bottom and think that we are state powerhouses.
Im satisfied with our record...I was there most of those years and witnessed the blood, sweat and tears that comes with having a record like that...Do i wish we won state every year? Absolutely! but thats not realistic...2 state championships and 5 title appearances since 1986? Ill take that any day! And i love the fact that our boys are still trying hard every year to get that 3rd one for the school...If WOS record doesn't impress you, then you dont want to see it...and thats fine...everyone is entitled to their opinion.

10. AtlantaWOS gets the #1 preseason ranking for the first time since 2004 and that season didn't end up so well. Lots of usual suspects as always.
I wonder if these rankings were done before or after Trey Baldwin left? I still think we will have a good team that deserves a top 5 ranking, but losing Baldwin was a major loss for us, so I'm not sure about that #1 ranking.
-
Rankings are just for fans. With a tough PNG and Richmond Foster team on the schedule, just to name a few of the tough teams on our schedule, we may not hold on to that #1 spot for long...but regardless, in Texas high school football the rankings mean nothing. Its all about what you do in the playoffs.
-
We generally don't have the problems with penalties when we get out of this area. Not trying to insinuate, but it is what it is.
you are absolutely correct Gas, I always look forward to the playoffs...because for some reason all the penalties magically disappear...

Yes I have had people tell me that, I do not think it hits him, nor does any of the 3 WOS players that are right on top of it when it happens as they touch the ball down and head to the side line. You also must remember that WOS sends their Defense out as HJ sends their offense out. I know WOS players and Coach T well enough that even if there was a hint that the ball hit him the players would have been all over the ball and Coach T would have been having a stroke arguing his point.
All in all the punt did not change the outcome of this game broke a little momentum but in general WOS played a near flawless game and we did not.
As I yell from the stands on EVERY punt.....GET AWAY FROM IT.... run to the field house or concession stand...but our players are drawn to the ball like a fat kid to cake.
You're thinking of Dan Hooks...he would have lost his mind arguing...but Coach Thompson hardly ever argues with the officials...I wish he would argue more...but that's just my opinion.
-
Some of you people are unreal. We will win only one district game? So you give us a chance against Liberty, I assume? And we'll lose to HF, OF, HJ? My goodness...so you only feel good about teams who are undefeated? Must be a miserable existence.
It must be huh griff? we are soooo bad we lost to two sorry teams apparently...Foster and Newton...lmao

haha. WOS95, take a shower
lmao...dont need one...im asking you big man...you gonna go on monday and tell coach T to his face to get rid of the Mustang Mile...Im stubborn...i can do this all nite if you want...
-
haha. You think he is going to listen to anyone? I doubt it.
I didnt ask you that...I asked if you are gonna go on Monday and tell him that he needs to get rid of the Mustang Mile so we can go to the quarterfinals?
-
The confidence of the team is gone.
So you lose two games and the confidence is gone? Then we never had a team to begin with...
-
Been a WO fan forever, but I see some issues. When they get to QF, at that level of competition, they need more weight on the line. How many times has Dallas been running for his life or sacked tonight? haha, See what I am talking about?
So on Monday you are gonna go tell Coach Thompson he needs to get rid of the Mustang Mile so we can get pass the quarterfinals?
-
We will not win district if another QB is not moved to take over.
Are you at the game?

Very disappointing season again, unfortunately if something doesn't change, I expect the same results for years to come. I'm not under the impression that we should win state every year, or even the district title. Dan Hooks and Cornel Thompson are coaching legends, that are not easily replaced. However, first round exits, two years in a row should be unacceptable. In my opinion, there should either be a coaching change, or Coach Hickman needs to make major changes on how he's running the football program.
