Good win for the Stangs, hope they keep the momentum going.  Does anyone have an idea as to where the next game will be played?

Wonder if the weather is going to hold up?

I just went to Hudl, and it looks like the game will be on there tonight.  Unless I read it wrong?

Good night for the Stangs, it was nice to see them put together 4 quarters of good football with minimal mistakes.  Not sure what happened to Silsbee, thought they started off the year pretty strong, but seemed to be struggling quite a bit last night.

Ironically, WOS defense has been suspect the past few games...I thought they had a decent start this year, but have looked lost at times recently...especially defending the pass...we shall see.

It's a toss up

Overall it was a pretty good night for the Stangs.  The first half was a little sketchy, but give credit to Sheperd, they came to play.  I got a feeling next weeks game with Silsbee will be like the game with Jasper...close...if you don't like stressful games...you might want to stay home, lol.  Just like WOS vs. Jasper...WOS vs. Silsbee is always a battle.   

It was a good win for the Mustangs, hopefully they will build on this win going forward.  Jasper always plays WO-S tough, been that way for decades.  It's nice to see the Stangs at 5-1.  

Its nice to see the Mustangs getting some recognition, it's been a rough two and a half years since Coach T left.  Hopefully, the coaches will keep the kids focused on what's in front of them and not worry about rankings.  We shall see!

Happy to say, my prediction might be off by one game, hopefully, with a win Friday night.  This will put the Mustangs at 4-1 going into district.  The defense seems to have improved from last year, as far as stopping the run...but the pass defense was exposed Friday against Episcopal.  Not sure what goes on in the locker room at halftime, but the second half and finishing games has been a problem for the past 2 years and was no different last Friday night.  Hopefully that gets fixed, or it could be another 4th place finish again.  

I thought the defense for WOS played well last Friday.  If they can keep that intensity and not give up too many big plays it could be close.  On the other side, I hope the offense and special teams can make the plays that make a difference in a close game.  As we saw last Friday night a few dropped passes and a blocked extra point hurt us in the end.  It would be a great win going forward if they can pull this off.

The first string Lumberton QB looked pretty solid, I liked #12 WR for Lumberton too, tall kid with good hands...he made some good leaping catches, over the defenders.

Hard to say, Newton and La Vega are ranked in the top 10, and I don't know anything about Episcopal or Almeta Crawford.  Also, Nederland always has decent athletes so that game could go either way. Hopefully the Mustangs have improved on defense, I think that will be a big factor in this season's success.  With all that said, I'll say 3-2.

I'm glad they are making changes on defense.  Strong defense is the Mustang identity, it may be boring to some folks, but that's how WO-S has won a lot of games for so many years.  Of all the disappointments the past couple of years, seeing the Mustangs give up so many points every game was the biggest disappointment for me.  

Very disappointing season again, unfortunately if something doesn't change, I expect the same results for years to come.  I'm not under the impression that we should win state every year, or even the district title.  Dan Hooks and Cornel Thompson are coaching legends, that are not easily replaced.  However, first round exits, two years in a row should be unacceptable.  In my opinion, there should either be a coaching change, or Coach Hickman needs to make major changes on how he's running the football program. 

If this is about Coach Neumann retiring it's already on KFDM Facebook page...do what you need to do to this post...but just letting you know it's out there as of 30 minutes ago..

prefer games in Houston...hate Dallas roads and traffic...AT&T stadium is nicer of course, but you'll never convince me that it does not give an advantage to DFW teams having it there every year....games should be rotated between Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio...jmo

Silsbee always has speed...they usually can run with us...not sure how the new Silsbee coach's system is going this year for the Tigers, maybe they're going through some growning pains?  Hoping for a good game...WOS defense needs to stop the run and continue to get pressure on the opposing QBs, force those turnovers, and WOS kick returners hopefully continue to give the WOS offense the short field, get those points on the board often...jmo

BC will be fine...but they need to stop putting the ball on the ground so much...

WOS defense needs to stop the LCM run game, make them throw the ball, get turnovers....WOS offense needs to score early and often, put the pressure on LCM to come from behind...jmo

I thought Nederland had a great crowd, until the rains came.  but i dont blame them for leaving...that rain was coming down pretty good...WOS fans left too...unfortunately it wasn't much of a game...i think if it would have been a closer scoring game, more people would have stayed...jmo...
