TABC Pre Season State Rankings
Tigers94 replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in High School Boys Basketball
Saw the Raider freshman and JV play twice last year. They didn't look very good. I suppose it's possible one or two kids can step their game up. Maybe they got a move in or two. If not, I see a lot of double teams and frustration in store for their one good player. -
Galena Park North Shore 55 Beaumont West Brook 14/FINAL
Tigers94 replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Football
55 - 14 now. It's like WB ain't even trying on defense. -
How many times will West Brook keep North Shore from scoring? Plus or minus three? Only reason I'd go over three is because it'll likely be garbage time in the second half. But who knows. Maybe WB can pull off a miracle if they pray hard enough.

Looks like a pretty brutal non-district schedule to me. Probably gonna be under 500 going into district. Some of these kids haven't lost a basketball game in two years. Let's see how they deal with it. I only see four or five games I'd be comfortable siding with Silsbee on: Woodville, Stafford, Lagrange, Center. Not so sure about Barbers Hill, West Brook, or Lufkin. All the others are likely loses. A few oddballs like Woodville, but I'm sure our kids might be looking to work out some frustrations by then. Not sure if Center has their basketball program back on track or not.

Let's just say he wasn't going to win any popularity contest. Tigers playing United twice in one month? May as well toss our young kids in the fire early, I guess.

24 - 14 Silsbee

Longhorns played the Tigers pretty tough last year. Don't know how much they lost from a year ago. If it ain't that much, this should be a good ballgame.

Final: 51 - 21
-
Touchdown Tigers Baltrip with the TD return. 51 - 21
-
Cards get a garbage time TD against Tiger backups. 44 - 21
-
Brisbane in now. Don't know if Silsbee will throw the ball again tonight though. 44 - 14
-
41 - 14 I guess the Cards D sorta held. Silsbee was nice and helped them a bit with another penalty.
-
Interception Malik Jones. About to be 45 - 14 unless the Cards defense steps up.
-
That's now 3 TDs called back.
-
31 - 14
-
Halftime Silsbee - 24 Cards - 7 Tigers have had two touchdowns called back due to penalties.
-
Silsbee had a TD off a blocked field goal called back due to being offsides. Cards get a second life and finally score. 17 - 7
-
Foster.
-
17 - 0 Start of the 2nd quarter. Cardinals had better do something if they want this to be a game.
-
Silsbee up 10 - 0. Still in the 1st quarter.

This is something he doesn't get enough credit for. It ain't just about the Xs and Os. Coach Sig has to walk a very fine line between being a complete disciplinarian and being player/fan friendly. A lot of coaches would fail in Silsbee. That's something a lot of people don't get. I remember being here when Coach Green was coaching. Let's just say a lot of players/parents definitely felt a certain way about him.

I just don't get mixing business with politics. Not unless your actual business is selling Trump flags or something else political. Yes I realize the fire department ain't a business, but I see other places doing it. Not sure if it helps them or hurts them more.
-
If they beat HJ early in the season, yeah I'd consider that an upset. Once these kids get some experience under their belts anything could happen later on.
-
Believe it or not, I wouldn't consider Silsbee that talented last year. We were mainly two kids surround by freshman and an ever changing roster. Not to mention very little in the size department. That all starts to change this year though. Future problems for Coach Sigler may be finding playing time for everyone in the years to come. This year will be transitional. I wouldn't expect the world from this bunch yet, but also wouldn't be surprised if they pull off a few upsets either.

West Orange-Stark 36 Silsbee 6/Final
Tigers94 replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in High School Football
I think beating up on poor Lumberton gave some people unrealistic expectations of what to expect from Silsbee this year. We lost a lot from a year ago. We're really young this year and a little rough around the edges. Hopefully we can get some things cleaned up and show some improvements the next three games and carry that over into next year.
