By next year we should have a good idea of where Silsbee stands. I still think we'll be okay come district and playoff time this year. We go into district without winning a single game, I might start to worry a little. We've got some other kids in the pipeline that already look to be excellent ballers. A lot of them won't make it to high school in time to play with our current kids though. BU should make it to state this year. What's the main thing standing in their way of a title? FB Hightower and Lancaster? Either them or some other Metroplex school, I'd guess.

I'll be at the next game. I have a good idea of how this one played out though. Got ate alive all night long trying to trap and press and gave up a million easy baskets. BU could have probably scored 100 by halftime if they had wanted to. I know we're young and inexperienced and nothing we could have done would have resulted in a W, but man 🤮

Only 4 dunks for BU? Surprised it wasn't 15 or 20 with all the easy baskets we probably gave up. How about we make some adjustments for the next BU game. Then maybe we'll only lose by 30.

I'd say that's closer than I though it would have been. Nice to see some progress.

Not sure if we're thinking about the same players but.... Bush and Jones were Silsbee kids playing in Beaumont that came home. That other kid, well, you spend five years here, you got Tiger blood in your veins now. Calvin Tyler came over from Ozen for a year. That's who I count. Only other playing I can think of is Thomas, who really didn't play much of a role here before he got in trouble. That second title team is about as pure of a true small town team you're gonna get, unless that one kid doesn't count. And, well, I guess not everyone will count him as Silsbee 😟 Anyways, looking forward to what Silsbee can do against West Brook. Should have about 90 percent of our roster, minus one starter. Hope we can at least not get blown out.

Strake Jesuit and Dallas Jesuit have to play 6A football due to recruiting. Similar rules should apply to FF. There was a Dallas article about FF buying the Cedar Hill coaching staff and the reasons stated were very obvious. I really wanna know how many kids was Desoto missing due to football? If the answer is very few or none, there's not even gonna be any competition for the 4A state title this year. and believe it or not, those Silsbee teams only had one kid for one year that wasn't a Silsbee person.

Would expect to see some progress when we play West Brook. Not saying we're gonna win, but I would think a somewhat decent game isn't out of the question. Realistically we're probably looking at 0 - 6 before we play Woodville. That's okay though. Lure some of these teams into a false sense of security for when we start to roll. More than half the Silsbee team should be in the 6`2 range. Think Grisham and one other kid might be 6`3.

22 is the same as last year, I'd imagine. HJ had a tall kid on JV last year. Don't know if he's the one you might be thinking about.

Haven't seen us play this year, but if it's like it was early last season, teams would get as many offensive rebounds as needed before they scored on us in a lot of games. Jones, Williams, and Gilder will be adding plenty of beef down low from now on. Even Miller when he gets back will help.
