What's crazy is there's a half dozen teams or so from the area sitting at home that probably could have won it all. They got taken out by the other DFW schools.

If LE continues to thrash Westlake, the undersized team will have won most the 5A and 6A games. I guess size ain't everything. DFW is dominating this year.

Gonna be another sweep for DFW. Be interesting to see how central Texas vs DFW goes in 6A next.

It was a good season for the Tigers, considering what they had to work with. They made it as far as they realistically could. They played hard for their new coach and never quit, which is a good sign. I thought Yates might put up a 30 or 40 piece on us. I'd honestly be a little worried that this game was a fight in the first half if I'm a Lions fan and making to state is the goal. Silsbee was only a decent team at their best this year. Most of the productive players from this squad will graduate. Next season is going to feel like a true reboot. They're gonna have a bunch of baby kittens out there playing; very ferocious kittens, but still kittens.

So is there any good reason why BC can't make it to state now?

Playing Washington will be like playing a Silsbee team from a few years ago. BC could occasionally make the Tigers sweat for one half of basketball back then. Their problem was giving out in the second half and the 3s would stop falling. If they can play well for all 4 quarters, they might have a small chance of pulling off an upset I say BTW by 10 though.

Yates thrives off the press and turnovers. Silsbee has not done a good job of taking care of the ball this year, and they're not going to magically morph into a different team by Friday. That's a recipe for a potential disaster. Yates by 20+

At least it's not at Dayton again.

If Yates is even halfway decent, they'll win by 20 or more. I'm glad that in a "terrible year" for Silsbee b-ball, we can still at least win a playoff game though.

If Booker T has any Lewis/Mcdermott caliber players on their team, it'll be a miserable round 2 for the Cardinals. I scanned over their games played this year and didn't see anything too impressive in the wins department. Maybe they're still good, but not like a few years ago.

They'll need a year of experience and physical growth under their belts before they're really ready. It's best to have tempered expectations for next season.

Silsbee will lose most of it's best players from this team to graduation: Johnson, Arline, Cartwright. I think Williams will be the best player to return. They're gonna be really young next year.

Great effort tonight by Silsbee. Bridge City just made a few more shots than the Tigers did tonight.

Of course my heart says Silsbee pulls off an upset and wins by a few points. Realistically? Bridge City by 14.

He'll be playing at Kelly from what I understand.

Adams is still playing for Hamshire Fannett last I heard.

Silsbee just lost another player; a starter at that. That's now 3 Silsbee kids I'm aware of that is or will be playing for other schools. I hope Friday's game doesn't get ugly. One playoff win is probably the ceiling for this team.

Is there a reason why both the Vidor and Silsbee basketball hudls are showing the girls game? I get Silsbee doing the girls, but you'd think Vidor would do their home game instead.

His brother will have graduated by the time he makes it to high school. If Silsbee looks like they're gonna be legit again by then, he may wat to come join the fun.

Help should start to come in next year, although people will still need to keep their expectations in check. If a certain kid with really strong Silsbee ties chooses to play at Silsbee the year after next, the Tigers could be as good as they've ever been. May have a legit three headed monster on the court again.

Looked like it might of been a blowout in BC's favor at first. I'll give our kids props for playing hard and not laying down. Beating Silsbee isn't much to flex over these days. I'm 50/50 on them even winning a playoff game this year.

Would love to see the Tigers win Tuesday, but I got BC taking this one by 10. Jasper is a horrific basketball team, so I can't tell if the Tigers have gotten any better or not based on last Friday's result.

This could the first Tiger team that's going to finish the season under 500 in a long time. When was the last time that's happened? I can see them going 15-17 for the year and maybe winning one playoff game.
