  1. He played last year for Silsbee in the playoffs, albeit not as much as he wanted. I know he played in the Booker T game. He got mixed up in a little trouble last year, which is why his season was delayed. Year before that is when he had to play JV because of transfer rules. He'll definitely help, although Silsbee will still be pretty down compared to last season. That's just the reality Tiger fans will have to learn to accept. You don't just lose a Harris/Miller/Bottley and keep things rolling like nothing has changed.
  2. Lord how mercy. Draymond can't make it back soon enough. Seven more days till we're at full power. What this team needs more than anything is consistency.
  3. Not exactly sure, but that sounds about right. #20 for Silsbee is Cartwright. Only place I know of is team stats are given after the highlights on Max Preps or Hudl. Not sure about individual numbers About those team stats: Rebounds: Silsbee - 30 Hitchcock - 37 Assist: Silsbee - 8 Hitchcock - 12 Steals - Silsbee - 15 Hitchcock - 3 Blocks - Silsbee - 0 Hitchcock - 2 FG% Silsbee - 44% Hitchcock - 47% 3PT% Silsbee - 18% Hitchcock - 40% (Silsbee really didn't take many 3s compared to how many they usually take) FT% Silsbee - 69% Hitchcock - 64% As you can clearly see, turnovers killed Hitchcock. If they can take care of the ball better and use their size to their advantage against other 3A squads, they'll be alright.
  4. I saw where Boulwen had 18 points and 12 rebounds and Rice had 24 points and 12 rebounds. I still hold my breath anytime they put the ball on the floor though. I think Gaines for Silsbee can give us some good minutes. He's really quick and has good ball handling skills
  5. He did okay. I honestly wonder why he didn't attack the basket more and play down low. The way this game was being called, he probably could have gotten 20 free throw attempts.
  6. Both of these teams are a little rough around the edges. This is a game that needed to happen last year. Silsbee will get a starter back on the 14th. Hopefully that'll help some.
  7. Has there been 50 fouls called? It felt like it. Silsbee just kept pounding the ball inside for much of the first half. Hitchcock finally put a kid in there who could do something to defend it right before the halftime.
  8. JV just started the 3rd quarter. Silsbee only has about 12 kids between their freshman and JV teams. What in the world is going on? Are grades that bad? Even some kids are missing on varsity that were there.
  9. 96 - 32 was the final.
  10. What happened to the big tight end that played center for Jasper? He's not playing basketball this year? They'd only be losing by 25 or 30 if he were playing. Silsbee needs to rest their starters for Hitchcock tomorrow.
  11. It feels like torture having to watch Jasper try and play basketball.
  12. Hudl should have it. [Hidden Content]
  13. McCain should perhaps get a mention just for the way he played in the Dallas Carter game. Looks like Silsbee might be without their freshman PG for a bit. Hope it's nothing serious.
  14. Not sure if I want to go to the Hitchcock game or Jasper or both. Silsbee should slay Jasper, but I'd like to get a good eye on the Tiger freshman and JV squads, which I assume will also be playing. Like Silsbee, Hitchcock was missing key players early on to football. I wouldn't put too much weight behind their early losses. Also like Silsbee, they seem to be having some problems with injuries and are struggling more than you might expect. They're almost like a 3A version of us right now. I'd say it's a coin toss, but I'll favor the Tigers if they all show up and play well.
  15. Silsbee ends the tournament at 0 - 4. Klein Oak - 59 Silsbee - 52 I think we play Hitchcock next Saturday. Can't wait to see how that one goes.
  16. He's probably about 6'5 or 6'6 right now. He is a freshman. He really needs a year to develop before he's ready for serious playing time. If he can grow another inch or two and get a little stronger and quicker by next year, that'll be great. Him and our freshman point guard could help a lot next year. I think the PG should be playing more right now. Give it 2 or 3 years. I would say 2 years, but that might be wishful thinking. There's lots of talent in the pipeline at Silsbee. What people are seeing right now won't last or become the new normal for very long. I think the final in the Grand Oaks game was 68 - 56. That's a lot closer than I thought it'd be.
  17. Silsbee lost 53 - 40 to Ned. They then lost 61 - 51 to Tomball Memorial. They're likely in for a butt kicking in the morning. Maybe a 20 - 30 piece. Lets see them prove me wrong.
  18. I've said this before, but Sisbee's biggest problem is they lost 50-60 points per game (Harris/Miller/Bottley/Elam) to graduation last year. They haven't been able to make up for it this year consistently. Teams know they can focus on Peyton, and if nobody else can do anything, it'll go bad for the Tigers. There's other problems too, but I'll leave it off of these forums.
  19. Are there any serious threats this year? Vidor seems to be pretty solid. West Orange can sometimes give us trouble, whether it makes sense or not. These next two years are the down years for Silsbee (by Tiger standards) as far as I'm concerned. If anybody wants to sneak in a district win, that'll be the time to do it.
  20. Shoulders made five or six 3 pointers. He probably finished with 20+ points for the game. If we can get something close to that out of him consistently, they'd be great. Everybody for Silsbee went cold in the second half. That can't keep happening.
  21. Payton is cold right now. These other kids need to step up and close the game out.
  22. Tigers up 44 - 29 at the half
