We had two really good 3-point shooters playing in the 2nd quarter that gave us that halftime lead. Maybe we should go back to that.

I'd like to be a homer and say Silsbee, but lets be real here. We'll see just how good the Tiger offensive line is in this one. Bellville - 42 Tigers - 21 I don't think it will be as bad as last year.

Silsbee had a bad second quarter. I'm not sure if they can overcome that or not. Either way, I wouldn't put too much stock in any of these early season games for anybody.

It's a nice thought, but sometimes you just have to let things go. There's no guarantee Silsbee would have beat Dallas Carter, their likely opponents if FF wasn't in the way, in either of those two years. I do think we'd at least get them one time though. Starting with the kids that are in 7th grade right now, Silsbee should have a lot of talent eventually making their way to high school. This years 7th grade class won't be the only one that's loaded either. There will be more on the way behind that if everything works out. Hopefully if the Tigers can make several runs at state in a few years, there won't be some stupid academy school standing in the way.

The Tigers did a good job of making it to a respectable 7-3 record on the year. I figured they'd go 4-6 or 5-5 before the season started. They should be better next year. We get Brookshire Royal in round 1 of the playoffs. I've no idea what to make of this team looking at their record and who they've played. I think if we're healthy, there's a chance we can win. Then it'll be time for the Bellville rematch.

If they give it the WO-S effort, I think Jasper wins by 14. I'm not sure if these boys have called it a season already or not. These next two games will give us our answer.

Lets see if we can finish at 7 - 3 and get at least one playoff win. I'll consider this a solid season if we can pull that off.

Read option is working. I don't know why we don't do it more. Lets try to at least make this respectable.

If I'm being honest, that Silsbee ranking is a little too generous. Are a lot of these 4A teams down, or are we benefiting from name recognition? It probably won't hold for long anyways if the Tigers start the season like they usually do. One good thing about this year is they won't have to wait long on the football players.

I just wish we had a QB that could run on teams instead of just sitting back in the pocket. We'll have one next year that's capable of doing that. I hope he'll have the green light to do so. It would be one more thing opposing defenses would have to worry about. Silsbee will need to play their best game of the season to have a chance Friday.

Jasper was terrible last year. I don't know if the team quit on their coach or what happened. WO-S should be better. I see what would have been one of our new kids is playing for Hamshire Fannett now. He would have been a solid player for us. I still expect some of our remaining new players to step up.
