  1. Palestine has made some timely three pointers to keep it to within 10. They really are like a bigger and better version of WOS. Thought this would be a fight like last year's Jacksonville game. It's like those teams from that way all play similar.
  2. Miller passed up an easy layup for a kick out 3 and we missed. A little sloppy. End of 1. Tigers - 20 Palestine - 14
  3. Just realized Palestine is Adrian Peterson's hometown. Definitely some good athletic genes over that way. Glad Texan Live is doing this one. Nobody who has a job they'll be getting off from is gonna feel like trying to make it to Nacogdoches by 6:30 on a Thursday. Hopefully Hamshire Fannett beats Center so we can maybe get another game in the Montange Center. Go Longhorns!
  4. They don't look bad from what little I've seen. I'll take the Tigers by 14. This may play out similar to the Jacksonville game last year.
  5. Dunk count was 4 - 0. Silsbee gets Kilgore or Palestine next. Harris, Miller, Bottley and Rice did most the damage. Jones was off tonight, but that's okay. That's why you have teammates. Would like to see Rice get better with his hands. Still fumbles the ball around a little too much for my taste.
  6. He's had an off game offensively. I think they're just trying to see if he can get something going before he comes out.
  7. End of 3. Tigers - 62 Hawks - 31 Dunk count 4 - 0.
  8. Halftime Silsbee - 35 HJ - 18 Missed easy shots are killing Silsbee. Hawks offense really struggled in the 2nd half. Dunk count 2 - 0 Tigers.
  9. End of the 1st Tigers - 19 Hawks - 12 HJ not playing bad. Tigers have missed a few easy shots though.
  10. Teams are warming up. Lady Tigers lost by, I think, 13. Was a tale of two halves. Third quarter really did them in 😢
  11. You never want to be overconfident in the playoffs, but the Tigers take this one by 20. I'd be surprised if this turns out like Silsbee's district games. HJ's coach will get everything he can out of his players to make this a ballgame. Tigers probably go 1-1 on the night. Would like to be wrong about that though.
  12. Will be a double header at the Montage Center on Tuesday. Time has yet to be decided.
  13. Silsbee girls won. I assume the HJ girls will probably win if they haven't already. A double header is perfectly doable now.
  14. Some old games here. Some schools aren't around anymore like TJ and Lincoln. Obviously the quality is what it is. [Hidden Content]
  15. The Silsbee/Jacksonville game can be seen on Youtube tonight.
  16. What crazy is this Silsbee bunch could have had a lot more size and depth if all the kids from the class of 24 had stayed committed to basketball. A few kids didn't play past their freshman and sophomore years. Speaking of not playing, they got a freshman now that looks to be pushing 6'6. Not playing basketball though.
  17. Lumberton (or Kountze) are nearly home games for Silsbee. Doubt that ever happens. It should be at West Brook, but I don't think they want to host a playoff game. May as well get ready for East Chambers.
  18. West Brook makes the most sense location wise if it's Silsbee/HJ. That means the game will be played in East Chambers.
  19. Harris could of had double digit dunk numbers tonight if he'd played enough. Surely that would have been a record.
  20. I believe every male in Peyton's family has been inbetween 6'4 and 6'7. If he can grow anything close to that, he could nearly carry the team by himself next year. Right now his size hurts him a little at times when finishing at the rim in traffic.
  21. If Silsbee doesn't get more physical in the trenches, they could get rolled playing a former 6A school like West Brook. You can joke about WB not winning any games last year, but it doesn't matter if a team can just walk right over you. Losing Horton certainly isn't going to help them in that department. A 4 - 6 or 5 - 5 record wouldn't surprise me.
