  1. Malik Jones is number 24. I really don't know how much Lumberton lost from last year, but the score was at least respectable between them and Silsbee from a year ago.
  2. That could realistically happen. Perfect scenario would be the Hawks beating Silsbee in the regular season, only for the Tigers to knock them out in the playoffs. Don't think our young cats could handle Yates this year. Next year it'll be on though. Crazy how taller Harris has gotten. I swear he still looked like a little kid less than a year ago.
  3. Goodnight Raiders. Four TDs for Jones.
  4. Tiger pass defense is giving Lumberton just a little bit of hope. We keep giving the ball to Jones and good things keep happening. We score again before halftime and it might be goodnight Raiders.
  5. Going the wrong way again 🤬
  6. Lets get some points before halftime now.
  7. Malik Jones is having a very good game on both sides of the ball.
  8. TD Silsbee. Guess that onside kick don't matter now.
  9. Not sure how I feel about that onside kick.
  10. And Lumberton gives it right back. TD Jayron Williams for Silsbee.
  11. Sigh. Turnover all ready by Silsbee.
  12. How about some early Jared Harris highlights. That's a quality dunk at the end. Almost got his forearm over the rim. Crazy to think he's just a freshman.
  13. Might be closer than some people expect, but I think a Tiger victory is likely. Lets see how many Raiders our young sophomore Williams can lay the smack down on. Pro tip: if you're a Raider player, run the other way.
  14. May as well get use to real Tiger basketball not starting till after football season. That's just the norm now. I do think we may be a little better off than last year's Silsbee Lite team. We'll have a few solid kids to try and work with, as opposed to the Bush and the Misfits squad we had last year.
  15. Yeah I think the dunk count might be a little higher in Tiger games this year.
  16. Looking like the same old story as always . Play like garbage early in the season, then make a playoff run towards the end of the year. Be nice if we could play well from the get go.
  17. Can't say I'm surprised at any of this 😟 I don't like wearing mask either, but I always wear one when I'm in any enclosed area. From what I understand, the virus is a lot less contagious in open outdoor areas like football stands. So if people would just follow a few simple and easy rules, we could have a full season.
  18. Looks like there's not even gonna be a power loss where I'm at, although most the red lights weren't working this morning. About to drive around and see what some places look like. It really was crazy to watch and see how close this storm came to us, but ended up doing very little. Just a little to the west and we'd be Lake Charles this morning.
  19. Looks like we may have dodged a bullet compared to how things could be going. At least here in Silsbee it still ain't bad. Still have power as of right now.
  20. Wish it'd hurry up and do what it's gonna do. I swear The Weather Channel tries to scare everyone to death. It's gonna get a little rough for a few hours tonight, but most everyone should be alright.
  21. Someone told me this song was banned for a while on the radio after Hurricane Rita.
  22. Looks like its going right up the Texas/Louisiana border now. If there's anything to be positive about, this looks to be a fast moving storm. No Harvey type of rainfall dump just sitting on top of us.
  23. Weather Channel currently has Laura hitting Lake Charles. It can still go further east or west though. Only way I'd leave is if it's a strong cat 4 or 5. I stayed through Rita, Ike and Harvey. Trying to evacuate for one of these storms is a huge pain. The only people who need to consider leaving is if you're in range of the storm surge. I wish we could get one of these storms during daylight hours. I'd probably sit on the front porch and watch it blow by then.
  24. Really want to see what Harper and Jones do for their sophomore year. Jones keeps growing. He looks a little leaner and more athletic looking from a year ago. This could be Harper's team now. He just needs to shoot the ball better and he could easily average 15 - 20 points a game. That and stay out of foul trouble. Some of our freshman can shoot lights out from the 3, in particular Bottley. Another positive is I don't think we'll be undersized against most the teams we play this year. Was quite frustrating watching some teams get as many rebounds as needed to scored on us early in the year. I think 3 or 4 rounds deep seems like reasonable expectations. If the region ends up being really weak like it was last year, Huntsville ain't completely out of the question.
  25. Mater Dei has been considered the best team over these past few years by most people. Of course it's a joke to consider these schools real high school teams. That would be like pretending Montverde Academy is just a regular basketball team. It would be very hard for any public school to take down these privates that are at the very top of their recruiting game. There's literally D1 recruits at every position on some of these squads. Duncanville did take down a New Jersey private last year, but that team ended up not being that great. They were supposed to play Saint Thomas Aquinas this year, but of course that ain't happening now. Really bummed out North Shore and De La Salle won't get to play each other this year. I think The Shore could have spanked them. DSL isn't an elite private anymore.
