Hard to say exactly what it will be since a lot of these kids are still only 13 - 14 years old. A few are already 6 feet tall though. Hoping Jones and Williams can come around next year for us and make more of an impact. One kid on JV looks to be about 6`2" and is pretty good at times. If he could get better and move up next year that would help also.

Everyone is gonna be pulling for Silsbee to lose these next two games for entertainment purposes at the rate this thread is going. -

Time to do it in a game! -
Silsbee should be very, very good in the future. There will be some growing pains next year, no doubt, but they could legitimately have a shot at state the next 3 years after that.

Silsbee had a freshman club last year. They had a full squad of 12 + kids at first. After grades came in, they played with a roster of only 6 kids for the remainder of the season. Same thing happened to JV last year. They lost 5 or 6 players from the team. I'm assuming report cards were the main reason for losing so many kids. Some of that might also be players quitting and a few discipline issues also. Not enough players to form a team would be the main reason, I would imagine. I don't think they'd want to try and compete if they were in a situation with a very small roster again. I watched the HJ/Silsbee freshman game last year when the Tigers only had 6 kids. It was ugly to say the least. -

Something ain't right with a few of these kids. It may just be mainly one player or not. Hearing this team is selfish and kids don't want to play their roles. Some are even jealous of Bush, which is pathetic if true. I'm glad Silsbee will be starting over next year with an almost totally new bunch. -

I wouldn't doubt it the way things are going. Hope certain things I'm hearing about this Silsbee team and some of its players aren't true. -

Fun for Yates at least. Man it pisses me off to see Bush give these efforts and the team still loses. -

Nothing wrong with football first players when it's only 1 or 2 kids. When it's half the team or even more, it kind of hurts. Yeah....Bush is definitely b-ball first and only though. Hardin Jefferson, you guys had better make it to region finals now. The pressure is all on you. Us Silsbee fans are gonna be kicked backed and relaxed this year after Yates puts us down. -

Tempted to be snarky and refer to this team as the Bush Tigers. A shame he won't go out stronger for his senior year playoff wise. Not much help at all or anything that can be done about it. That's what happens when you have a bunch of inexperienced kids and football first players on the team. -

Silsbee is down by 2. Bush is on fire tonight. -
The first game should have never came down to a last second shot. Silsbee missed easy put backs and lay ups that would have helped them keep that 10 point cushion they had built in the 4th. That and they had some really uncharacteristic turnovers. Still, if they're not on their A + game tomorrow, they'll likely lose. For the love of God, I hope HJ doesn't get away with running the same offensive play over and over like HF did Friday.
-
All depends on whether Silsbee is shooting the 3 ball well tomorrow or not and getting some easy points off turnovers. They're gonna lose if they can't do those two things. Same holds true for just about anyone they play from here on out.

Think we need to develop an "oh woe is us" attitude towards Silsbee ball next year. That way we can act all delighted and trilled whenever the poor little Tigers manage to win a game. There really might be around 10 freshman and sophomores on the team next year. At the very least Miller, Bottley, and Harris will likely go straight to varsity, probably more than that. Think there's at least two current JV players that might could contribute in some way. Number 1 and 20. Gilder and Baltrip will be the only seniors that see playing time. -

I really didn't see anything wrong with Rideaux's coaching style. He's not any less vocal or loud than our JV coach can be at a lot of times. Some fans just aren't used to that, I guess. -

Pretty much this. I hate to overreact after one game and go there, but we could have done so many things better. At the very least we could have backed off their point guards. They we're getting by our defenders almost every time playing them tight, which lead to most of HF's points. Back off and force them to make a shot from outside. If they beat us with that, so be it. HF beat us with their big post player ( and I think one other kid) not even playing last night doing the same thing over and over 🤬 -

If I were Lumberton or Hardin Jefferson, I'd do the same thing HF did tonight on offense to Silsbee. The Raiders sorta did that in the first game and made it interesting. Tigers really are like a high school version of the Houston Rockets. Small ball and look like world beaters when the 3 is falling and getting easy lay ups. Could lose to almost anyone if neither of those are going our way and we're playing lackluster defense. -

Well at least we've denied Hardin Jefferson the chance to give us our first district loss in a long while. Hard to win a game when you can't make any shots. Silsbee rarely stopped HF when they took the time to set up their offense. They'd just drive to the basket and kick it to mainly one player, get a lay up or a foul called. Their point guards did a good job of not giving the ball up for the most part. I can feel that 3rd round playoff loss coming now......if we get that far. -

Tiger JV takes it. 50 - 30. -
I guess the Hawks and Hargrave will be fighting for the top spot in district now.

How about we put a team away early when going up by double digits instead of letting them back in the game 😞 Lets see how we play with this lead now. -
Silsbee by 10 - 12 points. Tigers have been in a bit of a shooting slump these past two games. Definitely gonna be closer than the first game if that continues tonight.
