This makes me wonder. Are they gonna keep recording/streaming games next year, or was this just because of Covid this season. A lot of people are gonna miss out if they don't do it next year. I'll always prefer games in person as sitting in the stands is half the fun at Silsbee games, but that's not a realistic option for everyone.

You know another thing is kids wouldn't dream of even giving up a dunk back in the day. They'd do almost anything to stop it. You got one back then you earned it. Now they're treated like giving up layups. Stats: All freshman and sophomores except for Baltrip. Shan Gilder did not play, so we were missing one starter. Hope he gets one last regular season game in vs Vidor.

Thought the dunk count was 2 - 1 LCM. They must have got another one after I left with under a minute to play. Crazy how people in the stands don't get as hyped for dunks anymore unless it's something crazy. Back when I was in school any dunk would bring the entire crowd to their feet. Now it's just kinda like whatever 🤷‍♂️

I thought Kountze had a good bunch of kids coming up next year. Assuming they all stay in town to play ball, they might start to get back on track. Port Arthur is in a really tough district this season. I'm sure they'll be back soon. Can't imagine them being down for too long.

He hurt himself at the end of the Orangefield game. He hasn't been the same since. Certainly didn't look like himself against Lumberton Tuesday.

It should be noted this ain't the same WO-S you've seen Yates slaughter by a million points in the playoffs before. They've got size and athleticism and a good coach now that doesn't scream like a psychopath at the players the entire game, although the current guy is pretty funny. They're not bad this year.

Unfortunately that's gonna be hard to do as long as Faith Family is doing their thing 😞

Well at least we won the dunk count 🙂 I don't think I ever seen a Raider attempt a dunk in a game, at least not against us. They got a kid that puts on a pretty good show in warmups, but I don't think they let him play. I really don't believe Silsbee is gonna beat Lumberton by 40 - 50 points next year either. This is new Lumberton with a good coach and kids that play hard for him. I know we've got decades of mental conditioning to overcome when it comes to this, so it can be pretty hard to do.

The Lumberton that played tonight could make some noise in the playoffs. Three rounds deep or more would not surprise me. Question is will that Lumberton show up. Silsbee has got to get this rebounding thing figured out. Even with as bad as we shot the ball, if we could have at least broke even in that department tonight we would have had a chance. Help will be on the way, but I guess it is what it is for this year.

So when was the last time Lumberton beat Silsbee in a district game?

Actually this was always supposed to be a rebuilding year for the Tigers. We've lost a ton of great athletes over these past few years. So this is "bad Silsbee" by our standards. Not many teams in this area besides United can lose what we've lost and still be able to compete like we do.

Can't buy a basket tonight to save our lives. Better not have that typical bad Tiger 3rd quarter tonight.

Tuesday will be the last chance for Lumberton to get a win over Silsbee for probably a very long time. Not unless they've got a bunch of freak athletes they're secretly keeping hidden from everyone right now. McClure needs to assert himself from the get go and the Raiders need to jump out to an early lead against the Tigers. If they can do that and control the tempo of the game, then they'll have a shot. If Silsbee jumps on them early and they get frustrated, it could be a long night for them.

Bad news for the Birds when those 3s stop falling like they were earlier. Hard to shoot like that for 4 quarters.
