Hopefully he still plays this season. I saw that he’s signing next Wednesday.
And everybody knows playing basketball gets you in better shape for football than practicing football gets you in shape for football. Everybody knows that, right?
Okay, it's a stretch, but it's the best I could come up with on short notice. -

Playing the #1 ranked 6A team to 10 points will help prepare the Tigers for that tough district play.
Cute. Very cute.
I’m hoping it won’t turn into something akin to clubbing baby seals.

Is there a JV game? The portal schedule says the varsity game is at 5:30 and I was hoping that was true because I'm going over to the theater to watch the drama team perform "The Adams Family, School Addition" at 7.

There was pretty thick irony in this game. It was Bellville's passing that opened it up for them. If not for those 2 big completions, one for a touchdown, I think this game goes to the wire. All things being equal there's not way those guys get that open against Jasper. There was another one where the receiver was past the defense but the ball was overthrown.

I tip my hat to Bellvile. Got a real good team. I wish yall the very best the rest of the way. Bring the 🏆 back to Region 3.
The DAWGS at least made yall work for it unlike last week where it was like taking candy from a baby. lol.
be careful on your way home and take care.
Hmmm. What's it like to lose to a baby?

It was a good effort. First time Bellville was held scoreless in the first quarter.

Great night so far. Jasper leading Bellville and get this.... Gilmer is leading Carthage 21-15!

Anyone else notice the difference between the approach to this game that Jasper fans are taking compared to Silsbee fans? Jasper fans not talking crazy and making outlandish comments, just taking it step by step and not drawing any unnecessary fire.
Watch Jasper end up making this a game.
My crazy comment was that if Silsbee could do something about limiting return yards and if they could protect the quarterback they would have a chance if they got several big plays to boot.
The Dave Campbell ranking was dumb. The Max Preps ranking of Silsbee at No. 6 made sense. The Tigers could play with anybody in the state EXCEPT the top three and perhaps Wimberly. I think Jaspers handling of Cuero bears that out.
But those top three, Carthage, Bellville and Mt. Pleasant, all with ratings above 50, are just too strong. -

Is this game being live streamed ?
I think it's on the Bellville network.
I went ahead and did a NFHS subscription which I'll keep until the end of basketball season. The cost through March is less than one road trip to the Houston area. (depending on where we eat of course) -
Congrats to WB, a solid team. But what a difference 3 days have made for the Tigers.

West Brook again already?
#2 is the only kid they have that worries me, so lets do better this time.
I don't know. The game at Silsbee looked like a real team effort for WB. 6A teams have a December advantage against small town 4A teams that have good football programs.

89-49 Silsbee
But it wasn't really that close was it? I mean 66 to 9 at the half? That's kind of remarkable.
LaGrange, is 4A correct, with about 1000 students? To me this win says something about the potential capability of this Silsbee team against 4A competition once they get really on track by the end of the tournament season. -

If Miller does play and plays as well as he did as a sophomore then Silsbee will go to State simply on the basis of talent. In the loss to FF in the semi two years ago he was the leading scorer and the most effective player on the court. Without Miller talent alone won't get them there.
What about Westbrook? They looked pretty sharp. Decent 3pt shooting. But I don't see how they can do better than 3rd in that tough district. Third is not bad in that district actually.

He may be at home healing his ankle.
Anybody know if there's any credence to the rumor that he's going to go ahead and graduate in Dec. and move on?

I think this game is a lot more interesting than it appears on paper. We could we be dealing with a Cinderella here. Remember, under the shabby stepdaughter attire Cinderella was a beautiful and sweet girl and had some good athletes. The Prince realized almost immediately that just because she finished third in her district it didn't mean she wasn't Princess material. She just needed the fireplace soot washed off and few extra weeks to perfect that defense. The difference here is our Cinderella already had a good coach.

Most people here just been posting what they thought would happen all week,no hate that I’ve seen
Nobody thought this would happen. Silsbee beat a Jasper team that earlier today beat Cuero handily. We all knew that Silsbee would need big plays and breaks to pull it out. The matchup was bad we knew but it's much much worse than we ever imagined.

Always overrated Silsbee is getting destroyed
The Tigers didn't rank themselves. They're being overpowered in a terrible matchup. And actually I don't think MaxPreps has them much overrated at No. 6. This wouldn't happen against Cuero and I don't think it would happen against Wimberly or teams in the other two regions save for the top 3 or 4 teams.

23 because it was clearly a safety
And because you'd be better off having Silsbee punt from their own end zone.

BC is a scrappy bunch. 41-25 @ the half. I suppose we’re on track for a 30 pt Tiger win depending on how much the subs play for each team.
