If you take a team to state 4 years in  a row and still have people thinking you cando better, then those people don't deserve you.  You wait and see.  When Coach Thompson is gone and the Hooks/ Thompson way of doing things gets changed the program will never be the same.  I understand the team is mostly African American and you want an African American coach.  I fully understand that.  I just hope whoever you get fully understands the tradition and works the kids as hard as his previous coaches have.

WOS fans are so spoiled by success that when the cycle finally takes a dip some of them think Coach Thompson forgot how to coach while others take it really personal.  However, most Stang fans are educated and dedicated fans who under stand that it can't go on forever.  You are going to have years every.now and then when your program is younger and maybe even less talented.  The coaches can work 24 hours a day but it takes longer for these types of teams to develop.  And some will never develop into the type of team you've been accustomed to.  WOS has the highest winning percentage in the whole state.  It's easy to get fat and happy when your program is that great.  It's not going to last forever.  I will always put my money on this program turning everything around very soon.  In 1993 Newton was ranked number 1 in the state in preseason.  We won 3 games.  In 94 we went two rounds deep in the playoffs.   I really don't think it's time to panic. I really wonder how much good is done by calling out a young man by his name or number.  There are other ways to get your point across without embarrassing   A young man who more than likely is doing the best he can.

It is almost impossible for a fan base not to get “spoiled” by runs like the Mustangs have had.   I would hope that most understand that their coaches didn’t forget how to coach over the offseason.  But nothing surprises me anymore.  

And even in a down year BC still couldn't get it done.

This isn't true. WO-S held out for a while on finalizing the two games this realignment cycle because Cornel wanted a home-and-home while Newton wanted a home game and a Saturday game at the Butch. Once Newton agreed to the home and home, the series was announced.

These same PA kids came up in the football ranks playing in tough youth football leagues and weren't treated like babies.  Bout 5 or so years ago I witnessed so many kids getting tackled and just stayed on the ground crying. 12-13 yr old kids crying from normal tackles.  It happened over 12x that game.  

Yea, SETX is talent rich, especially PA.  Always been that way. He got an earful from the old school cats by us.

This, sir, is where I think you're wrong.  The slot t (like the other run based offenses) is very balanced indeed!
They're balanced in the aspect of being able to attack multiple gaps out of limited formations and repetitive backfield looks.
I hope BC's OC understands that more than fans in the stands.

What a game.  I'd loved to have seen that one. Those kids from Troup learned a life lesson that they will never forget.  Congrats to them.

Believe me. Coach Johnston took no joy in beating those boys like that. He did everything he could to keep the score down. I don't believe he threw a pass in the second half. The reserves have worked just as hard as the starters and you can't expect them to give less than their best. I hope the Cats can look back on this some day and say this is where the turnaround started. They have some talent. They just need to keep working hard and better days will be ahead. I wish them luck
