This all I’m saying. No disrespect to the district, but imo, the 4th place team could easily win our district or be second. My statement about the qb was more about keeping the defense guessing and honest. Wilson was big and physical and a real dual threat. If stover don’t start taking off on these wide open runs, it’s gonna be difficult in the playoffs

One of the reasons PAM lost to Longview was actually because of Wilson's legs. If I remember clearly, Longview punted 4 straight times but memorial shot themselves in the foot. First four drives for memorial from what I remember were:

PAM TD, Wilson fumble, Wilson fumble, Wilson fumble.

He was definitely a dual threat but he had a run first mentality. Once Longview figured that out, our offense went stagnant and our defense eventually got tired. I'd much rather it be the other way around and have Stover let plays develop and pass the rock to his playmakers and run only when needed. I get that PAM normally has a QB that can take it to the house with his legs but that hasn't always worked out for us come playoff time. Like the year we lost to Fort Bend Hightower in the first round, our QB was smaller but lightning fast, he ended up getting hurt during a run in the 4th quarter and didn't come back in the rest of the game. I like this PAM team, they'll get better as the season goes.

22 for 30 against PNG was Stoever ... 16 for 26 against Nederland.. I don't see any accuracy issues ..

Kind of funny how perception works. I thought he was way more accurate against Nederland yet his numbers were better against PNG. The play calls were mostly bubble screens and short passes the first game but the incomplete passes were way off and at his receivers feet. The pass plays against Nederland were mainly medium to long passes and I thought he was right on the money yet he had more incomplete passes even though he threw less. O line has been holding up well but I'm worried how he'll react to a team with a stout D line. He seems to have some wheels on him as well, I noticed that after he picked up the fumbled snap against Nederland and ran it in for the touchdown. Either way, there's still room for improvement and he'll get better as the season goes no doubt.

  3. Absolutely terrible play calling by PAM, I haven't seen vanilla play calling like this since 2016. The QB is playing scared and couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Heard from many people around the area that he was accurate, from what I've seen, that isn't even close to the truth. That touchdown they gave up was from a terribly underthrown ball yet neither DB could make a play on it.

Austin 1985 makes zero sense and has no clue what he’s talking about and should be embarrassed. PNG fans with their defense should be almost as embarrassed. But we all know they won’t be. It’s an embarrassing moment for the school and those seniors. Sometimes you just have to admit someone from your school made a mistake. Coaches husband could have handled himself better! Where was the schools security when this man was approaching the bench. He did it more than once. And then assistant coach walked towards him when he was going back to stands. Still no security. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah, I finally saw a good video that showed the whole incident. After the parent goes back to the bench is when this situation should've ended but it appears that one of the coaches continues the altercation and the dad comes back down. It still could've been avoided though but the husband rushing in like a bull seeing red was the final nail in the coffin. The guys earlier said he poked the coaches in the face but video evidence clearly shows that wasn't the case. He points his finger twice and the 2nd time he does it is right after the coach herself did it to him. Still not defending his actions but it isn't as one sided as it has been made out to be. I think the coaches husband should be banned as well, I get the whole defending your spouse thing but doing so the way he did escalated things to the point it endangered innocent bystanders.

Not being rude, but you can talk to him all you want. If he tells you any different then what I said he is lying. It was seen and heard by everyone there. As for his daughter missing practice for a week. That was told to me by a very reliable source who is very close to the situation.

Hey I get it, but I've known this guy for a very long time and he's a cool cat for sure which makes me baffled at this situation. You only know him based off this incident. I'll come up with my own verdict in due time but seems like there's a culture problem that might extend past this issue. We have our own issues in PA but PNG isn't as squeaky clean as they make things out to be. Kind of interesting if it's true that so many players are quitting right before the biggest game of the season.

Yep poked her in the forehead numerous times as he was telling her to get the _ _ _ _ out of his face and _ _ _ _ off Bi_ _h. Yes, the coaches husband was defending his wife against an idiot.

Very strange incident to say the least but I'll hold judgment until I hear his side (I know him personally). Definitely out of character for him which is why I'm shocked about this situation.

If only things were that easy to predict lol. Team A and Team B scored this much so  then that must mean team C will do the same. If that was the case then you're pretty much saying KWP has just as good of an offense as LV since they scored the same amount of points. PAM held yall to less points than LV as well so that means our defense has to be better right? See how silly it sounds. But yes, "we were hurt that game" trust me we know, heard it every time yall lost this year lol.

You can have athletes for days but give me the better football players.

I mean quite a few these athletes end up playing on Saturdays and Sundays. So I'd like to think they're pretty good football players as well. Sky is the limit if they had a truly legit coaching staff. If we had LVs coach King we'd have several championships no doubt.

I look forward to games like this because of the type of town we are playing. A good sized blue collar town that isn't DFW/Houston/Austin mega school (or soon to be mega school).  Lots of similarities in the schools and the people who live there. I thought the same thing when we played BWB in the title game several years ago. Glad to see like towns/schools have this success.

I get some of our fans and the degree of confidence. There are a lot of non Longview fans in that thread who are predicting some of the craziness and being down right disrespectful.  Most of us know what PAM is going to put on the field on Friday. We also know there is a problem defensively in discipline with PAM. You guys have given up a lot of points and honestly shouldn't have. So yeah that's gives us confidence because we know our defense will get some stops.

Other than the rain, turnovers, penalties, this game comes down to two things that are pretty simple in my eyes. Does Longview coach get conservative and play into PAMs defense. You guys have trouble stopping the run but have gotten pretty stout on the interior. When LV gets conservative we will continually run it right at you. This could lead to several three and outs and hurt us getting into a rhythm. The other is the PAM QB. We had trouble with Lancaster's QB. He was quick and could throw on the run...but he was one of the fastest players we have seen all year. If PAM QB is more like Crosby's QB than Lancaster, then we will be good.

As far as athleticism goes if PAM doesn't have the edge, then these teams are even. One poster said that he saw film and LV looked slow. In 35 years of watching LV football, that is the first time I have ever heard that. It will be a very athletic and physical game on Friday. I hope whatever refs show up, they let these boys play.

I got LV in this game because of the way both teams have played through most of the year. But I have no doubt that PAM can win this game if LV doesn't play the way we know they can.

    Safe travels on Friday.

I think he meant slow compared to what he's used to seeing at PAM. Many of us have been watching Port Arthur football for a very long time so forgive us for always believing we have the best athletes. At the high school level, it's true we don't quite have the hardware to back it up but there's a reason why Port Arthur alumni have been to the most superbowls out of any other school in the country.
