  1. Heck of a season, it's always fun going back and reading the comments and predictions from way back in February. A wild season to say the least, don't think many people had Crosby finishing 4th but this district was much more competitive than many expected. Now it's time to take care of business in the playoffs. I'm hoping at least a split in bi-district play but anything better would be great. Good luck to everyone in the playoffs. This is when things really get fun!

The timing of those TD’s was critical. The fumble recovery for TD followed by one of PAM’s stops of LP, and then another PAM score was 2 score swing. The 2nd return for TD by PAM left LP no time on clock in the 1st half.

PAM’s run D is as atrocious as LP’s pass D.

KWP will present PAM a balanced power O & a solid D. They match up size wise with PAM well. (PAM had some good size young men.) As I said, I’d be torn between y’all’s squads right now. KWP actually shut down LP. PAM really didn’t. Not sure LP had 250 total yards against KWP. LP had that in the 1st half against PAM.

Eh, I'll agree to disagree, La Porte will probably be our rival for the foreseeable future. The Baytown schools aren't very good and our district is constantly changing, Crosby and Barbers Hill will continue to grow and eventually go 6A. It was almost guaranteed we would lose to La porte in the early 2000s but since that 2011 playoff win, PAM has had the better program and closed the gap.

Actually, I’m assuming PAM does score. Then, LP scores right back. I don’t have the stats. But, I believe PAM had 1 TO (INT), punted 1x, and had no TO on downs. LP had 2 TO (1 fumble for recovered TD, 1 INT), punted 2x, and had no TO on downs.

Yes. The PAM QB was—I swear—95% completion rate! LOL

Same token, LP carved up PAM’s #1 ranked rush D (with backup RB’s) like a Thanksgiving ham even with 10 in the box.

So, we’re missing the stuffing & sides. PAM supplied the winning gravy with the KO returns.

The difference was 20 points. PAM had a fumble recovery in the end zone for a TD, and 2 KO returns for TD’s. There’s your point spread.

That takes nothing away from the PAM win, and LP has only had this staff on board since late February. They’ll keep improving. The upcoming classes are looking like there’s some solid talent coming up.

Again, Good Game PAM! It was fun to watch except for the boneheaded LP Special Teams play on KO returns both ways. (PAM had LP’s return game figured out after about the 2nd KO. No idea why LP kept giving yards to try a fake.)

You keep bringing up those special teams tds but like you said, they score regardless. Without them PAM still wins by 2 TDs at least. This game went pretty much how I thought it would. La Porte's offense is slow and methodical but efficient. If they had a decent secondary they'd win this district. Unfortunately they do not, they will beat Sterling and I believe they match up well with porter because they have a similar slow offense. I don't see them beating Crosby however, I've seen better D in 7 on 7 games. As long as a team has a decent passing attack, La porte will not win coming from behind with their style of offense.

No. But—outside of Special Teams screw up’s by LP tonight— this was a score for score game. PAM did well, and won in the often overlooked special team category. But, they didn’t really stop LP any more than LP stopped PAM. KWP—on the other hand—just methodically smothered LP on D, and surgically cut them up via ground & air on O. I didn’t get the same feel from PAM. PAM seems more finesse. In a finesse vs power matchup, I’ll take power 8 out of 10.

    Just me.

I get what you're saying about special teams, but you're assuming PAM doesn't score on those 2 possessions anyway. The offense scored on everyone of their drives in the first half on an average of 3/4 plays and the only time they didn't was when Wilson gifted the La Porte DB with the easiest interception of his career. He could've been blind folded while juggling 6 bananas and still caught it. We must've watched two completely different games because after the first drives by both teams I never felt like La Porte would win this game. Wilson carved that La Porte secondary like a turkey on Thanksgiving day. PAM never even had to try and run due to the passing game working so well. They had a completely different game plan the 2nd half though, PAM's first possession was mainly running the ball and killing clock. I believe if they had kept going hard at the secondary the score would've looked much more lopsided.

  5. I like PAM in this one, as long as they stay healthy and keep winning it's fine regardless if it's by 1 or 40. They haven't always looked pretty this season on offense but their Defense is legit. If they manage a couple quick scores early then I see them coasting in this one. If they let La Porte control the clock and wear the Defense down, I see it being another nail biter like the porter game.

Come rd 1 you gonna care… I promise u that for the 4th year in a row we will be sitting at home they keep playing like that I

You're preaching to the choir, unlike you though I don't cry after every game win or lose, are they flawed? Oh yeah no doubt, I guarantee I've been to more PAM games in the last 10 years than just about anyone in this site, I don't need you to tell me their history in the playoffs the last few years, I was there to see it with my own eyes each time.

Wait didn’t we spank yall last yr? And came within 7 at home without the starting QB? PA won’t win the district either lol

That 7 point spread has more to do with how PAM played than what Crosby did, yall won the turnover and ref battle but still couldn't pull it off, knew the injuries would be yalls excuse but it's cool. At this point I don't really care how ugly our wins look as long as they keep them coming

Yep. Just stay out of 4th place...

True, if only it mattered in this scenario... finishing 2nd and 3rd in that district gives you the honor of playing Paetow or Hightower, both of which are playing this weekend....

  9. Most games are decided by the big uglies in the trenches. This is true in high school ball, college and in the pros. PAM lost to Crosby because their O line got their butts whipped all night and they gave sanders absolutely no time to throw down field similar to Mahomes in the superbowl last year. Barbers hill has a much better O line and they're holding their own so far which is letting Barbers Hills Qb take advantage of a horrendous Crosby secondary. Still lots of time left but Crosby won't stop those deep passes unless they put more bodies out in coverage but ofcourse that'll open up the run game so we'll see who wants it more in the 2nd half.

Lol, I would take that bet, if anyone is scoring 10 or less that would be Crosby. Yes, our first 3 games of the season were away games but they all ended with wins and our defense has settled down now and our offense has woken up. Also, how convenient that Crosby got their 3 toughest district games all at home this year. But whatever, we'll see come playoff time, or maybe as early as next week if Nederland serves you guys some crow.

Looks like Nederland served that crow after all.

It absolutely does.  It's a team sport, and when one of us messes up, we all pay the penalty.

When those two kids in San Antone wrecked the ref in 2015, both of them were suspended from school for 75 days, lost UIL eligibility. The UIL declined to reinstate one for 2016 (I think the other graduated or quituated) and finally reinstated the other kid for 2017.  Their coach even permanently lost his teaching certificate. Granted, that coach may or may not have directed those kids to attack, but in this case where the kid has an obviously well-documented history of violently attacking officials..... You have to make a statement.  We might even see stronger penalties from the UIL before this is over with.

When you jump offsides, you don't get set back five, your whole team does.  This kid cost his team 15, then another 15 and a personal disqualification.  THEN he attacked the ref.  I wouldn't have had a problem with an entire team disqualification at that point in the game.

Make a strong stand and nip this behavior in the bud.

It's a shame... the kid is a standout at the 6A level.  It's literally on every news source in America today.  Maybe he can still walk on at East Mississippi Community College.

It isn't going to stop anyone else from doing it lol, this was a coaching and parenting issue. The whole "make an example out of them" argument is stupid in this scenario. It'll go viral for a week and then something else will catch everyone's attention. There will always be athletes with anger issues and it's up to the coaches to know when to step in before something like this happens. This was shocking to me at first but then I learned he had a similar incident last year, it made sense from there. That should've been a red flag from the get go and the coaches should bear the consequences as well not the kids who fought hard all year to make the playoffs.
