Thats the beauty of the message board I can say whatever I like and you can like it or not. So I say Nueman is a good coach. Like it or not..........

I agree , Nederlands football team was almost non-existent before Neumann. He is one of the best coaches in the area.

As far as having the athletes and winning outright district championships, sometimes a break here or there is the difference. Nederland has the same type athletes PNG has, historically. There are years here and there where it is tilted a bit one way or the other but for the most part it is similar. Since the start of around the Neumann , and Burnett eras PNG has won four outright district titles(96,03 or 04 not sure which one,07, and 09). With a break here or there we could have just as easily been co champs in most of them. One good example , we actually should have been co champs and ended up outright champs. It was the 03 or 04 with the last second field goal shinanigans against Ozen. A loss would have made us co champs instead of out right. Our win also put Nederland in the playoffs that year.

Nederland has had athletes to win the district championship outright and has a good shot at it in the next two years . They have had very talented teams in the past that should of and it is no fault of Neumanns, just the way the ball bounces sometimes. The team that strikes in my mind as one of the most talented teams for them was the 97 team.

I honestly believe anyone wanting to get rid of Neumann is crazy. They have gotten there the last few years by pounding their way through major injuries. Without that they may have gotten a couple of outright championships. Well , good luck next year even though the only luck yall have needed lately is staying healthy.

Last night at the Willis game I was very disappointed to see the Willis team meet at mid field before the game and after half time. Their routine before kick off's is fine, 11 guys coming together to get pumped. This is not a player problem it is a coaching problem. Willis was the most athletic, never give up hard working team I have seen at any high school level in a long time they have no need to do this. I wish them the best of luck as their program grows.

Last year against Brenham as their coaches dressed with ties on they let their players do the same thing. I don't care if you are on your home field during the regular season, home team during the playoffs that should never be done. Neither of these teams are the first to do it and sadly probably won't be the last but for the life of me I cannot understand how a coach would allow this.

In 30+ years of watching 6 man through 5A football I have seen this and it angers me every time. I have all the respect in the world for Brenham and now Willis but please stop this part or your routine. These kids have enough bad influence watching how college and pro sports have turned into a thug show without being allowed to do this in high school.

I do not mean to single out Willis or Brenham but they are the two teams I have seen do it lately. Both of you have great schools and have no reason to do this. If a PNG coach ever allows this I will gather as many fans as possible and go to the school board and superintendent and try and have it stopped. NDN fans cross the line just like all others and so do our players.

I am asking the coaching community as a whole to stop this practice. This teaches this young men nothing. Good luck to all of you still in the playoffs and great job to those of you who are out.

    Go PNG!
And how did that work for Willis?

I actually have no problem at all with what they did. I guarantee Coach Faircloth used that to fire our team up.

I am excited we are playing at the Butch and on a Saturday.  It is a great facility and I for one love that we are playing there.
And as a Beaumonter we appreciate those very nice comments about our new sport facility. I, like others was tired of having to go to Houston for every playoff game.
It is a very nice facility. Glad to play a second round game there also. It looks like the new facility is good for the entire area as well as BISD.

Too funny...Nederland can't beat a team PNG beat by 31. Wow!
C'mon dude, lets show a little more class. I would have bet a bundle of money on Nederland in this one , and still would if they played Crosby again next week. Nederland overcame some bad breaks early as far as injuries just as the last few years and still ended up in the playoffs. Congrats on a good season , and I still have to accept the fact you have the bragging rights for Mid County for the rest of the year.

Vidor....  Some people had them going winless this year.  Instead, they almost made the playoffs.
I have to agree , I was one who had written them off. I thought their best chance was last year with the team full of seniors. I was wrong, they put a good team on the field. I was glad to see it. I have always liked Matthews , he is a class dude.

Yall need to worry about your first round opponents...
Trust me Soulja, that's all that were focused on right now.  Besides, it wasn't a Brenham or Dayton fan that started this thread.  You can give the blame to a Livingston fan who is probably looking for any advantage possible against Dayton. :D

    Pretty obvious isn't it.

So glad Carson got plenty of action early in the season. Those games he started early in the year are going to do wonders for him Friday and throughout the playoffs if has to play.
Carson was looking good before Dionte came back.Crosby was the worst team we played all year, easily. This game could get ugly, Nederland by a bunch.

Yea no kidding not only are folks from Livingston no match for mighty Bronco's we can't spell either.....

    Couple thing to consider though:

    Total offense

    Dayton- 3052 yards

    Livingston- 3790 yards

    First downs

    Dayton-145

    Livingston-188
Replace Jasper, Huntsville, and Houston BTW with FB Elkins, Angleton and Aldine Eisenhower and you've got the other piece of that equation. ;)
And add in the fact that Dayton's defense allowed less than seven points per game and scored an average of 50 on offense.
Even though I feel 204A is better than 194A top to bottom, I honestly feel it was a very weak defensive year for 204A. As far as looking at the yardage Livingston put up you have to consider that none of the teams in our district(except Central) was very impressive on defense. 194A probably was better on defense. Just my opinion.

Absent say's it all-Who's been the last 4a SETX team still playing year after year.Pump up those roundballs week after next  ::) ;) ;D
Recently it has been my Jags and Dayton, going about the same distance less the one State trip by Dayton!
Very true. Both have definitely had the most consistent programs in the area (194A and 204A). Good luck to both unless of course we get Dayton in the first round.

I feel Dayton isn't as good as they were last year. Brenham is BETTER this year then they were last year. I just feel like you can't score on are Brick wall defense and we can score on yours.
    ??? ??? ;D
Brenham is good and expect them to be there. But I would never count Dayton out. They are there year in and out and should never be discounted.
  11. I'm very proud of the coaches and players. Our defense is still not the type of defense we had last year or the type defense we were used to in past , but they have improved greatly. We have made changes in our defense weekly since the Nederland game and at this point 5-4 and being assured a playoff spot is a good accomplishment for our players. A month ago things did not look good at all, and the players and coaches have continued to work hard. They are getting better weekly and maybe will peak at the right time. With our offense, if the defense can make some stands who knows.

    PNG is -9 and done
Ned is +2 with LCM to play
LCM is +2 with Ned to play
    Liv is +4 and done.

If this 4 way tie occurs next Friday, you are right, PNG is highly unlikely to make the playoffs.  PNG needs to win to get in.
You are correct, a four way tie is not favorable for us. We can lose and get in if LCM beats Nederland. With that being said , Nederland beating LCM seems a better bet than PNG beating Central. Just being realistic , but then again I didn't think we were going to beat LCM. Who knows?? Not giving up on them yet I just think Central is the only team in the district that truly stands out above the rest.

With all the talk of our lack of defense , I got to thinking. First , with the exception of Central I don't think anyone in our district can bost much about their defense. In fact I 'm not sure anyones is better than ours. With that being said could it be the strength of the offenses in instead of the lack of defense???? Face it we were able to hold a good Gregory Portland team (that will make some noise in the playoffs) better than we did some in our district. Crosby (who is from a weak 19 4A with the exception of Dayton) could do nothing against us. Well just thinking, what's ya'lls opinion?
Crosby (who is from a weak 19 4A with the exception of Dayton) could do nothing against us. <--thinks that should get statement of the year award  ;D
Dayton is good period , wouldn't matter which district they are in. The rest of that district is not that good this year. Maybe Crosby has greatly improved since I saw them play early. But , what I saw was way weaker than normal.
