Wow, what a game. Crosby had the momentum. PNG D sounded soft. Can't stop Crosby on several 4th down plays and then let Crosby break a long TD towards the end. NDNS will need to find some D before District. Congrats Coogs on the win.

The defense was playing ok but Crosby's line was stout tonight and the RECEIVERS WERE BLOCKING! not to mention that last td run had a HUGE block my the QB Aston Walker.
This was 2 offenses controlling the game through the run, don't call ur kids soft it wasn't that they played their tails off people need to face the facts i believe i'll quote myself "Crosby has the talent to play with anyone" they're just very young, but that youth today seemed to be explosive and made veteran plays, the Walker twins are very intelligent kids and they are lightning quick.
But it was the defense that won this game 2 HUGE stops late one to get the ball back after a field goal and the other to win the game.
The special teams had 1 mistake and they ndn's made them pay for it. Great game, but it was 2 evenly matched teams slugging it out and the cougs defense showed heart.

Good game by a young Crosby squad , congrats to ya'll. It was a good game, maybe destiny will let us see a rematch in the playoffs. Good luck to Crosby the rest of the way. -
Good game Crosby. PNG has not had good linbacker play in two years since Benoit and Kerr graduated. Our defense was always built arount strong linebackers, but we have struggled in that department in the lst two years. Good game Chase Romero but you are having to make way too many tackles from the secondary. Bright spots.... Miller looked good running. He's still a little strong armed on his passes though.
Some areas that need attention were exposed and will be addressed I am sure of that. I am confident Coach Cox will see to that. That's what non district games are for. The defense looks better than it did at this time last year and we finished very good. Once again congrats and good game Cougars. -
The last two meetings between these two have been lopsided PNG wins. That alone can set you up for failure. If PNG prepares and doesn't think this one will come easy then this years outcome will not be much different than the past two. If PNG takes them lightly (which I doubt Coach Faircloth will let happen), it could be a tough night. Lets go Indians...keep the intensity and take care of business. I say 35 -7 PNG.

This one is my pick for game of the week. Should be a good one.

Will this game be on 92.5
It's supposed to be. -
Another classic Ned/WOS game. On the edge of your seat till the end.
-
Wow! what a game.
-
Sounds like another good game between these two.

Yes, he is a great athlete... Not very tall, but very quick and throws the ball well. Will be a good fit for the PNG offense.
What I find humorous is that I spoke with the same kids dad last year and he was complaining about how the Mid County schools were poaching all of their talent at HF... :o ;D
If it's the same kid , I believe his name is Ky Walker. We have had several transfers in the underclass and middle schools. Don't know if I would move for athletic reasons myself , but it is nice to be getting good kids moving in because of a coach instead of leaving because of one. Their running back came with him also. -

So, PNG got the kid that was the QB for HF 8th grade last year?
Yeah , he's supposed to be a good athlete. -

Memorials A team should be playing central.
Most likely. PN-G beat the 9th grade B team last year while the A team beat Central 28-6
PNG JV and Fresh played Memorials B teams. Any Indians out there know if the Freshman QB was the transfer from HF? Heard the fresh QB looked real good. -
Heard Chase Romero was out this week , can anyone confirm?

Great news for PNG, bad news for PAM. SFA85 is right. Does not get you ready for 5A football. PNG is good almost every year. But there is a big diffrence in a "Good" 4A and a "Good 5A"
Lamarque is good 4A and Katy is a good 5A....There is a diffrence!

Very true , good post. -
This may be the game of the week. Should be a good one.

Nederland by two touchdowns

I think going back to the pro set style offense will work well for Nederland. Neumann had some awesome offenses back when he ran that. His offense in the spread has not been close to some of his offenses were from about 1997-2001.He went from being the top or top two teams in the district to just squeezing into the playoffs the last several years from a a four team playoff district. I think we will see a very good Nederland offense this year , more like the teams from back around late 90's and turn of the century. Good luck to you guys , it should be fun.
-
For years I felt Nederland and WOS had the best coaching staffs hands down. Since the arrival of Brandon Faircloth I feel PNG's coaching staff is in that league.
-
Bertrand will put up good numbers but not as good as last years. This will be, due to that he won't get as many carries.

First of all, I've never heard of a school in Texas named 'Ozan'. ;D ;D
Second of all, The first place sounds pretty accurate. Livingston had a bunch of young guns on offense. If their defense can play even halfway decent, Livingston may very well win district. PN-G will not get second place. There will be a huge droppoff of talent on the offensive sideof the ball with Doty and the Big O-Linemen gone. Central will be higher. People fail to forget that they are the defending district champs. They lost some to graduation, but have a slough of young guns ready to handle their business. Nederland showed me a young and hungry team last year especially on the defensive side of the ball. Ozen will be good, but can Tre Green carry them by himself? PN-G will only be working off of just the pure scheme from Coach Faircloth this year, so you know they will be well coached. This is how I predict it to finish...
1. Livinston
2. Central
3. Nederland
4. PN-G
5. Ozen
6. Vidor
7. LC-M
8. Lumberton

This looks pretty realistic to me.
