1. With all the talk of our lack of defense , I got to thinking. First , with the exception of Central I don't think anyone in our district can bost much about their defense. In fact I 'm not sure anyones is better than ours. With that being said could it be the strength of the offenses in instead of the lack of defense???? Face it we were able to hold a good Gregory Portland team (that will make some noise in the playoffs) better than we did some in our district. Crosby (who is from a weak 19 4A with the exception of Dayton) could do nothing against us. Well just thinking, what's ya'lls opinion?

Whats Barbers Hill's record in football against PNG??? Don't worry it won't get any better.
PNG will not even make the playoffs so your BH dream is not going to happen. 1. Central 2. LCM 3. LIV 4. LUM
I just read back all 11 pages and can't find anywhere that I mentioned a "BH dream" . Not to offend anyone , but I don't see Lumberton getting in with Nederland and Central remaining on their schedule. Only guarantee I would make is that I would not bet on anyone on any week for the rest of the season except Central.

If they was in BH district they would go to the play-offs as the 2nd place team behind dayton.

    nah....

Maybe 3rd behind Dayton and Crosby.
nah....
Ozen played us closer than Crosby has the last two years in a row.

LCM better blow out PNG if they want to win, because I have seen some strange things happen with the refs in Mid- county!!! ;D :D ;) Can I get an Amen!!!
Wow you must not remember the WORST officiating I have ever seen when LCM came to PNG last year. Yes he was from Orange County , even threw one flag against PNG and showed excitement. I hope they never let this guy back in Port Neches, it was terrible. Everybody gets bad calls from time to time , it happens. I have umpired baseball in the past and believe me you know when you blow it but some things are beyond blowing it. As in everything some people are better than others , I guess officiating is no different.

Slam14 - as a PNG fan I say we are the underdog this year.I feel we have the best offense in district this year but might be last in defense. LCM has a good team and should be recognized as such. I am not making any predictions on this one , just staying hopeful.

Man some of you guys are comical. I don't have daughters so , I may not understand. But I work with someone who does have girls playing therefore I follow sometimes. I just come over from the football forum just to keep up. I got to be honest it is entertaining at times. Some of you need to get a life. Notice I said some not all.

I have noticed one group that gets on here immediately after a tournament and mention how well they did or how high they finished even if another local team finished higher with no mention. There is another group that wants to be the premier organization , one that can compete with some of the better Houston orgs. But in reality I have only seen one group really do that(and i'm talking lately). That team was made up of mostly girls from one town ( yes, it pains me to say my arch rival  ;)). I even remember posts saying it couldn't be done with girls just from one town. Believe me I couldn't pull for them but it was fun watching them prove everyone wrong.

Well anyway , thanks for the entertaing reading. I work days and don't get to see any soap operas. ;) :) It is nice to hear of the increase in girls getting scholarships though , so those of you who volunteer your time should be proud and commended.
Well if you are referring to my post, yeah, I’m guilty and sorry to offend you, and I will continue to post as we go along.  ::) Personally I see nothing wrong in posting the scores, usually when we  complete a tournament we have numerous people texting me asking how we done.  With the use of this forum I have found it much easier to post what we have done other than texting everyone and also saving my minutes.   I tell you what, if it makes you happier, I will remove the Orange Crush and just post S.O.T.  ::)

I surely wished all local teams, posted what they did as they were playing, I for one would like to know.  If I knew the other scores I would surely post them, but I don’t.

Oh, to get on her and say that the softball forum is comical.  Apparently you have not been on your football forum lately, WOW…now that is a soap opera.
I honestly can't argue about the football forum , pretty entertaining also. Addictive just like soap operas. :)

dude, this is hardly the same Nederland team that suited out against BH...I counted no less than 6 starters on the sidelines in shorts for the BH game, most of which were playing against PNG
Very true, especially the presence of Sonnier was a big difference.

PNG you are being way to hard on yourselves. NED played a near flawless game last friday. The truth is, words were spoken by some PNG players and NED was fired up big time. That's football. Although your D is like ours and needs work, your O is probably the best balanced machine in 20-4a. You will score 30 plus points everynight. I can't say the same for most in our district. You will win this game and still be in the hunt. PNG 35 - Lumberton 21.  Keep the faith and get back in the game!
Thanks! We hope so , and will not give up them.

tappedout is on to something here, everybody wants to put blame on the db's but png has been ran all over the past couple of weeks
I've been saying the same. Our db's are ok , we have a problem with our lb's. Our middle linebackers are historically the strength of our defense, and this year they are struggling a little bit.

No excuses here, great job by Neumann AS USUAL. I have always said he is responsible for the success Nederland football has had since hes been there.I can think back of the coaches before and the records. A week ago more than half of Nederland was ready to get a piece of rope and hang him from the Market Basket sign. I've read posts about the defense or the spread offense. I'm reading the same ones now about PNG's D here and at PNG site. But, sometimes the coaches can only work with  the personnel they have. These kids are working hard as they can and doing the best they can, sometimes you just line up against someone better across from you.....Congrats Nederland on the win, good game.
Newman better thank his lucky stars he has Sonnier back ;) ...But it is a big win and I am glad to be a bulldog ...Congrats guys Beat the lions Friday..
Very good observation, Nederland is a different team with Sonnier back.

From what I saw, neither team could stop Betty White from scoring a touchdown.  Which has been the case for the last 3-4 weeks.  Wether your're a Indian or a Bulldog, I don't think any of you should start thinking about a new set of tires to make any playoff trips.
Look Smitty's got a new log- in name...WHAT EVER GUY >:(
Neither team is bad , our district is tougher than usual this year. Nederland beat PNG who had a chance to beat Gregory Portland , a team that will do well in the playoffs. PNG played them a better game than Corpus Christi Calallen did the following week. I'm telling ya'll our district is good this year.
  13. I wouldn't say Ned can't. Livingstons defense is no better than ours. We just traded TD's with them, and they stopped us us once where as we did not stop them once.I say they stopped us, we actually just called the wrong plays (hindsight).  On 2nd and 1 we tried a deep pass then on 3rd and 1 we tried a quick screen and was stopped behind the line. All this when Bertrand was getting 6 to 7 yards a carry. Not questioning Coach Faircloth, because had the deep pass worked and we score then it would have been brilliant. Even though we put up over 500 yds of offense against Nederland i still feel they have a little better defense than Livingston. Livingston has a big powerful line with some great backs I just think Nederland has a chance to stack up front and stop them where as we couldn't.Also, this is a different team tham the one that lost to Vidor(Sonnier is back).....Should be a good game and could go either way, I just wouldn't be surprised if Nederland takes it.

Well if our coaches don't make some serious changes with our D it will be another loss for the NDN's. You just can't keep doing something over and over again and expect better results. The only thing our D has going for it so far is the D line. If our D steps up we might pull out a win, otherwise Lumbertons QB will pick us apart. If D steps up NDN's by 10 if not we loose by 10.
What changes can we make? I was thinking the same until I looked at what we had and asked myself who do i move to defense. Gizzi played some on defense, who else? We need linebackers more than we need secondary, but when I look on the offense I don't see a prospect for that. Sometimes all a coach can do, is do the best with what he has.

This is the punchline to "What do you get when you cross a Nederland Bulldog with a PNG Indian!"

Hey watch it, you're getting close to crossing the line. I have a few kids that show what you get when you cross a bulldog with an Indian.

Every year that the Mid-County Schools have a bad year.  The district is weak.  Look back at history, the weak district topic always come up when PNG and NED are having off years.  If they are not in the limelight its a weak district.  On another note, I watched the NED/Vidor game on censored, and NED is not a bad team, seems like they are real close to being dangerous, they made mistakes that cost them the game, but it is all mistakes that can be fixed.  Good luck to all the weak teams in 20-4A. no more injuries
This is NOT a weak district. PNG played a good game ( and should have won) against Gregory Portland who went on to beat Corpus Christi Calallen the following week and will go to the playoffs and do well. Looking at that and how PNG is getting pushed around in district, I would say our district looks pretty darn strong.

Ned's D was the difference no doubt.  They were relentless and well prepared.  Our defensive game plan was non existent, and we made no adjustments.   Can't figure it out actually.  Congrats to the Dogs.   (But I still wouldn't wanna be one)
I agree, good game and I still wouldn't want to be a bulldog either. They have bad habits, ever watch one laying on the floor or porch???? ;D ;)
