  1. Comparing by who beat who early is crazy. Look at last year and year before that, PNG crushed Crosby and Crosby looked a lot better in playoffs. After beating Crosby by thirty plus last year Crosby came and beat a Nederland team that beat PNG. Crosby seems to play better as season goes and the Crosby I saw early was much better than last years. I also assure you PNG team that beat Vidor is much better than the one that lost to Crosby. Should be a war.

I'm sure that we all could argue bad call from mid county to orange county. I do have a family member who moved to Mid county years ago, and they tell me year in and year out, at their place they do get the majority of important calls.  They also say it does happen against the orange county schools. Its not that their are more flags towards one school or another, it just seems when the flags are thrown, it is a time in the game that it is hard to recover from.  Make up calls with one minute just make it look like both teams were called for fouls equally.  Remember this topic was started by an administrator of this site.

Not always true. The worst officiating I ever saw was two years ago LCM at PNG. I'm not gonna say no names but somebody well known from Orange County and this site made some terrible calls in LCM 's favor even made one and showed some excitement in the call.Pathetic , still didn't change the outcome of the game. Bad calls go both ways.

Congrats to the Indians for the win in a very intense game....you guys deserve your playoff spot. The Pirates came out flat which is what I was afraid of after the highly emotional week they had just been through. I'm proud that they didn't give up but fought back and put themselves back in the game in the fourth quarter. Pirates hold your heads high you have the pride and support if this town behind you.
Indians you guys played strong last night and gave an outstanding effort, you were in a do or die situation and you came out and did what you had to do....props to the boys in purple.

Wrong.....it was not a do or die situation. Even if we had lost we would have been in good shape. After a lopsided win over Ozen we were in good shape in a tie breaker.

Congrats Indians.....Everytime it seemed like we would get something going in the 1st half we would fumble are get a penalty and you cant do that against good teams....They will make you pay and PNG did.

Love the heart and determination the pirates showed by not giving up and coming from 22 points behind to make us hold on and work for the win. Props to Vidor.

Vidor by 4. PNG will have a few big plays. But I don't think the PNG "D" will be able to handle the ground and pound. Still think it will be close. Turnovers...these could decide the whole game.

Wish I could see this one!

Hard to believe they did not play Arvie more.  I hate it for the kid.  He seems to be very athletic.  Makes you wonder why...

Arvie is a good athlete but the right back is playing. Look what Bertrand is doing and has done.

Right now yes they would be. But they both have faced the worst offensive team stats wise and we haven't.

According to the stats Nederland has faced the BEST three offensively. That would be PNG, Liv.,Vidor in that order. Speaks volumes for their defense!

Edit: my bad it is actually PNG,Livingston,Ozen then Vidor. Nederland faced the number 1,2,and 4 team(offense). Vidor is 4 not 3.

Lumberton will bounce back I think. Growing community over there. Nederlands success has always come from coaching and preparation, not blue chip athleticism. This year we have a lot of above average athletes added onto the great coaching staff and voila. It's not that I don't think we've been talented, but injuries can plague your season and really make it an uphill battle. Anyways, I think getting a good coach and hanging on to him is key. Neumann has a lifetime job as far as I'm concerned. On a side note, not sure why vidor fans on this board are so persnickety. You have a good season going and you will earn more respect if you let Friday nights do the talking about how great your team is. Just because YOU feel like the team isn't getting enough respect doesn't mean people should have to post something new every day about how awesome vidor is. Finish it now. Get to the playoffs and win a game or two. You want your defense to be compared to Nederlands? Ok well after you've played everybody in district (mainly PNG/LIV) then we will have a fair comparison. Goodluck to lumberton, vidor, and the rest of the district for this season and beyond. if you want a winning tradition, you have to start somewhere. One or two seasons of a winning record or playoff appearances don't get you there if things go back downhill shortly after.

Very good post. I remember in the late 90's Nederland couldn't get the respect they should have , but after a few years they did. I also agree about the coaching and talent. We are finally seeing an advantage as far as coaching. There is no way I could say talent alone, look at the kids continuing to the next level. Most do not come from PNG or Nederland. Although Nederland does have some talent for the next few years which , along with their good coaching could mean a deep run.

Believe me other coaches are taking Vidor seriously , they have respect. It's just hard to get from local media from just a couple good seasons.
