It happens.  Enterprise does what they can just to cover Beaumont.

Don't feel bad. Silsbee is only 20 miles and up til last year when the district championships were piling up I don't remember articles on a regular basis.

I feel that, it's just disappointing now, because when I was growing up Liberty was always covered by the Houston Chronicle, but now that we were re-aligned into the district further east of houston, we are no longer covered by the chronicle. And that sucks because chron.com keeps up with all of the individual and team stats for every district they cover, it's not really about the recognition or articles i just miss being able to check the stats, and now we aren't covered by either of them .

Ehh, the twos & threes were in against tarkington so the ones gave up one score. The Coldspring game was a fluke, 2 tos from libertys special team back to back. HF and Tarkington lost to Anahuac there is no valid or reasonable excuse on why you lose to that team in Liberty's mind. I say Liberty punishes them 49-0 but we will see.

Yeah i could see that happening im aware of the fluke against coldspring i was there and im aware that we left 14 points off  the board in woodville as well, im a panther fan im not knocking our squad just looking at the results form the  previous games and saw a few capable guys on film for HF.. but you're right any team who loses to anahuac is gunna lose to liberty because we were that much better than anahuac, there's now way they can beat liberty, but they might score a couple touchdowns

Not sure who the top five are, but here is your top ten from last Friday night.

i wish the enterprise covered Liberty we are only like 40 miles west of Beamont on highway 90.. we are the furthest team from beamont in our district i believe, but they cover the rest of the district might as well include liberty, i only mentioned that because McGee of Orangfield made that top 10 list , which he deserved he was good , almost beat liberty by himself, but alex brown the liberty running back outperformed him so if the enterprise covered liberty he would be on that list as well obviously

How will they reach the endzone 3 times?

I already watched the film, everyone keeps calling me crazy but i think they are a better offensive football team than orangefield, outside orangefield having that 1 guy Mcgee who got to the endzone after some ridiculous high light reel runs on his own. HF has a running back with speed and a slot receiver with speed that they should try an get into space, if they can limit turnovers i could see them gettin in 3 times, Coldspring got in 3 times, orangfield got in what 4? Tarkington even got in twice... That's what really led me to believe HF may get in their 3 times they look better than tarkington on film to me...so i predicted a score similar to tarkington.. maybe we score 42 instead of 35 but i definitely could see them getting 3 scores

  5. Mcgee was Orangefield's only guy, I recall hearing some Orangefield fans complaining on here at the beginning of the year that this Mcgee guy wasn't getting enough carries, heard he only had like 5 one game... I was thinking that was just a lame excuse but after seeing the guy play he is phenomenal lol when it was 14-14 he had both their scores and all their yards he was the only one doing anything. I now wonder with you guys why he isn't getting enough of the carries seems like the offense should be build solely around him.

Gud stats. Sorry but it's against teams that aren't that gud.  If u wanna see RB stats look at what calving Tyler is doin.

Calvin Tyler has division 1 offers we are all aware of how good he is no one suggested otherwise. Shepherd is a team who will get 2nd in their district and probably win their first round playoff game as well. They aren't a bad football team. Alex ran all over Woodville as well who isn't a terrible football team and could win their district. Orangfield wasn't that terrible either they could see the playoffs, but yes I see Silsbee has played tougher opponents and what Calvin Tyler is doing is MORE impressive than Alex, but that doesn't mean Alex isn't putting up impressive numbers as well. He doesn't have the speed that C Tyler has, but I guarantee if you come watch this MAN on Friday nights you WILL be impressed. 5'11 215 pounds and just runs with pure aggression on every single carry, so many broken tackles this season , and yards after contact, it's a lot of fun to watch.

    How many carries?

I have no idea, but I can tell you from attending all 7 games he splits some of the carries with a linebacker who has college offers, who also plays running back, as well as #3 KK Antonie who I believe has 5 Touchdowns and a couple 100 yard rushing games of his own. I know for a fact KK had 2 TD's against Woodville and 100+ yard game and 3 against Tarkington he may have more IDK but he has at least that.

How can we forget.... Yes Woodville beat OF 41-7.

    Yes, Liberty beat Woodville

That's why the game is being played.  Both of these teams are not the same teams from 3 weeks ago.

I agree, Liberty is improving every single week and I'm sure you guys are as well, most teams do as the year goes along aside from being held up by injuries. I don't think that poster was saying because liberty beat woodviille and yall lost to woodville that you couldn't beat liberty, I think he was saying since you lost 41-7 to Woodville and it wasn't even close, that it would be hard for him to believe you've improved so much and gotten so much healthier that you could now beat Liberty. But like you said the games still gotta be played and anything can happen we are 0-2 against orangfield since joining this district so who knows, just from what i've seen this year it looks like these two teams are on different levels, you've got websites ranking liberty top 25 in the state for 4a D2 now.. you've got setx showing love in their rankings, none of those things guarantee any kind of victory on friday nights but a combination of all of them could lead people to believe this could be a lopsided game in favor of liberty.

I don't blame anyone for the predictions.  They are good predictions going off of past scores. If anyone has seen HF play, they know that team is not awful as stated.  Careful overlooking that underdawg.

Now that statement I can agree with completely. They are not as bad on film as their scores show.

'Making the playoffs' is such a watered down accomplishment in today's high school football with 4 teams going... some of which are in 5 team districts. In 2011, we went to the playoffs with a 2-8 record. Lol.. What a joke. I wish we'd go back to 2 teams going and cut out this "everybody gets a ribbon" crap. I'm gonna be honest and say though that this yr, IMO, there could only be one team from each district make it and from ours it would still be Woodville. Yall are awesome this yr. And in a district with us and Coldspring, going as the district champ is no small thing. Yall very much deserve it.

in 2011 , 4 teams did not go to the playoffs.

I'm not sure which HF team you've been watching.... Could it be the same 1 win team everyone else has been watching?

    WOS is WOS

Liberty is undefeated with a win over a quality Woodville team

    HJ beat Jasper

Quality Shepherd team as well. Look for them to play for the district title in their district against Bellville this season. Also SETX has , or had them in their setx top 10 , IDK if they are still there I haven't checked but you can definitely call them at least a "quality" opponent.

Liberty could very easily get whipped by HF.  HF is the 4A sleeper.  HJ and HF could very well be a blowout in HF favor.  People have not paid enough attention.  Overlooking a dangerous Underdawg is a bad idea.

Pardon me for not having "paid enough attention". I opened my eyes a little bit more after your post and really dug in and started paying attention and what I found was this.

HJ beat Buna 40-25 ... HF lost to Buna 26-38 ... OF beat Buna 45-0

HF lost to Anahuac 19-20 .... Liberty beat Anahuac 35-0 ....

It's one thing to have some confidence in your team it's another to suggest they could "blowout" HJ ... and then tell everyone else they haven't been paying attention , simply for disagreeing with you. LOL

Now I will say this. I saw some film on HF today and I actually like their offense more than Orangefield's. I think they have a few more playmakers than OF does. However, I have not seen the HJ film yet so I have no idea how they compare to HJ. With that being said I still can't blame anyone from across the district who predicts HF will get last place based on their performance thus far.

Orangefield goes down hard in this one 42-14

HJ ends up in the 4 spot

Orangefield will end up in the 5 spot

HF is the sleeper moving in at number 3

Interesting prediction! But hey, not a single district game has been played yet so anything can happen! Good luck to all the teams in 12-4A-II , let's hope for an exciting year.

  15. I really want to miss Liberty's district opened and watch this game. On paper this game looks like the game of the year so far, but I'm hearing people say Newton will blow them out? I would hate to miss Liberty's district opener and drive all that way for a blowout lol has anyone who is not a fan of either team seen both these teams in action this year yet ?

Are there any good places to eat? How is the football team.

might as well go on down 146 south of hardin for 5 extra minutes to Liberty , Jax Hamburgers, Novrozky's both probably better than your option in Hardin which is just 1 place and that's Los Compadres it's pretty good but the Los Compadres in Dayton is better for some reason, and yeah the team is 0-5 and just let go of their AD/HC in only his second year there idk how they can ever build a program by continuing to do that, the don't have as many athletes historically as Daisetta or Liberty but they get rid of their coach every year as if that is somehow his fault lol
