Cushing is the better team. That night, before and after.

Agreed. HD bobcat has a way of rationalizing anything negative with HD, before the game HD was the better overall team , after the game all of the sudden Cushing Texas is the best coached team he’s ever seen in high school football ? Wow . Even his compliments to the other team are back handed comments or rationalizations for HD’s loss. They are good this year and I’m glad for them my dad was all state honorable mention DB for HD in the 80’s my uncle won a state championship in the 70’s with them. But I love to laugh at HD bobcats explanations over the years I can’t help it , at least they’re good now so it’s not as bad but there was a time where they were abysmal and he did the exact same thing , I hate to “attack” someone it’s all fun for me I gotta give it to him he’s the most loyal , and consistent fan for his team on this entire website and he loves his community and his team and the kids that’s awesome and I applaud that but over the last 7 years I’ve been on this site , HD’s opponent , after a loss, was never the better team , there was always something

Unfortunately no I played under Deel. We didn’t condition well , we didn’t lift weights , and we didn’t tackle in practice , so we didn’t tackle on Fridays . We went to the playoffs and got  drummed by west orange . And this isn’t coming from some bitter ex player who feels like he was wronged , I wouldn’t have seen the field much under any coach lol I just wasn’t very good , this is just my honest opinion reflecting back on our success , or lack there of , rather .

Under deel we had 6’6 200 pound Daniel Fitzwater as our QB (rest in peace) great person , great player I forget his stats but he passed for over 2000 yards and 20 touchdowns my senior year he competed for all district QB with Huffman’s QB he went on to be one of the  top rated pro style QBs in JUCO playing for Copiah Lin or however it’s spelled , we had a great passing attack , for 2 years we ran the shotgun and we aired it out , coach J Orr was a great offensive coach along with Steve Griffith. We just fell short on defense and being weak lol

I agree but flat out taunting when you just barley got the lead and have been struggling

I’m not a West orange fan and I wasn’t putting your football knowledge into question by assuming you never scored a TD. I was simply just giving an opinion that it’s an overwhelming feeling for a young person to score and sitting in the stands with family and friends , I don’t personally get offended by someone celebrating , unless like I said they take it too far. The fact that they are kids , if anything , should be more of a reason to allow them to celebrate , it’s the NFL players who are professionals who I could totally get behind penalizing more severely for taunting because they set an example for our kids , but as far as on Friday nights a 16 year old high stepping into the end zone doesn’t offend me or my family so my opinion is that taking away the touchdown is severe and cruel punishment for something that’s not really that bad.

    eyeroll...

Unsportsmanlike conduct is unsportsmanlike conduct. Teach the "kids" some class. It IS high school so they should learn something.

^ sounds like something someone who never scored a touchdown would say , again they’re young , the excitement that fills your body when you score under those lights is indescribable, again if it’s not grabbing the crotch or cussing at people it should be a flag but don’t take away the touchdown .

I agree but the kids need to stop the show boating

“Footballs suppose to be fun ya know” - Friday Night Lights. They’re kids , if they’re not cussing the opponent out , or grabbing a certain area as they go in the end zone ... they should be able to have some fun. Throw a flag , but don’t take a TD away from the team , because one player decided to have a little harmless fun.

He's using basically the same play book that the coach from liberty ten + years ago used just altered it a bit

Stewart? Yeah he ran a similar offense and then Deel brought in the spread and then after him Taylor brought back the old school , I was speaking on the defense , not the offense, Taylor’s staff has libertys defense at a level that it hasn’t been at in years.

Liberty’s easy pre-district schedule may come back to haunt them vs Diboll. Liberty does play hard for their Coach, i just see Diboll winning 28-14.

We finally have a coach who can coach, or put the right people in position to coach , the defense. That’s huge that’s why we are a playoff team that’s why we go over 500 consistently, Liberty went like 8 years before Taylor without a defense , and without a weight lifting program , we were small. Now they’re big and they tackle, and that has been the case ever since Taylor took over.

I heard he was having surgery and would be out for the season. He may have more speed than McMillian, but they are both next to impossible to tackle with one man. This will be a physical match up and the difference in the game will be in the ability of the QB's to hit open receivers. Diboll should win this one because of their ability and willingness to throw the ball.

Liberty won’t throw the ball. They won’t even line up with receivers more than half of the snaps. So the outcome for Diboll may hinge on the QB’s ability to hit open receivers but that will not be what wins the game for the Panthers it won’t even be a factor. You’ll see what I mean when you see our offense , which I love by the way , and I love coming on SETX and seeing people complain about it after they play us. It’s straight out of the 1950’s and it’s great. The game for Liberty will be decided on the defensive side of the football , can they restrict Diboll’s run game enough to cause them to start throwing , if so that opens up the door for one of our talented 3 year starter safeties to make some big plays. The main thing will be staying fresh , our main defenders play both ways , fatigue was huge against Huffman.

I've heard Simply Country is very good. I don't usually go through Moss Hill to get to Liberty, but may have to make a detour.

Detour is worth it . If not go to Jax and get a burger, and yes Anne’s is pretty good , it’s fresh seafood.

I know the score was 29-12, but if you were at the game you should know the game was much closer than that.  The 1 fumble snap was fumble while we were driving on approx. the 20 yard line, and the other fumble was in our territory on approx. the 15 yard line in which our defense just came off the field after causing a 3 and out. So yes those turnovers did make a difference.  The game was 19-12 with about 5 min. left in the fourth... But with that being said we are not as good as I thought.. We have holes and we make  to many mistakes.

Yes I agree on the not as good as you thought part , Liberty is not as good as I thought , at all . I was thinking 3 rounds deep like we did a couple years ago , however I was at the game and that’s not as likely as I hoped ,we will get 3rd in our district silsbee and wos will more than likely beat us , and we won’t go far in the playoffs unless we get more in shape those guys were cramping up and taking plays off in the 4th quarter. With that being said you lost 29-12, if you get to talk about the fumbles can I talk about the 4 interceptions we dropped ? Do I get to play the “what if” game too? Because if so then I get to say the score “could’ve been” 50 something to 12. Oh wait you scored on one drive that we dropped an interception on, so let me take away a score and say we “could’ve” won 50 something to 6, if that’s how we’re going to analyze a football game . It’s over, you guys aren’t very good at all , and we could be much better I hope our guys get it together tomorrow and give themselves some juice going into district.

Thank you for your argumentative input! Huffman can not tackle dude! We never made any adjustments. Liberty never put anyone on the ground like GT, Army, and them boys do.They stood straight up and blocking scheme was simple. I didn't see one cut block. Also, appreciate the movie quote.

It was totally argumentative, I lost to Huffman 2 out of 3 times when I was at Liberty there’s no secret there I’m very forward about my dislike for Huffman it’s natural they were in my district for football basketball and baseball 7th through 12th grade . With that being said , I still felt the need to point out that if you take away those two fumbled snaps it doesn’t guarantee and Huffman victory , and I had to point out that we have been running this offense and going to the playoffs , for the past couple of years now , and I didn’t think it was fair to blame Huffman’s defensive coordinator for it , that’s what we run, woodville was running it too the past few years and staying in the SETX rankings and going to the playoffs as well it’s a good offense for lower level high school football , don’t blame the DC.

Huffman barely made the playoffs last year, Liberty was district runner up in their district , this is a 2 round playoff team at least this year. Could be as good as the team from 2 years back that went 3 rounds deep, Liberty will be a force in the region this year without a doubt.

    Liberty wins 28-14

And I don’t want to come off like a jerk , but I was spot on , on how this game would go , and I know I’m a liberty fan but to me this what just plain and simple . The better team won, both teams made mistakes , Those comments from the Huffman fans were bias , “if this didn’t happen if that didn’t happen , the dc this , fumbles that “ if they played 10 times Liberty wins 10 times , one of those 4 dropped int’s was a TD , could’ve cracked the game open at that point would’ve been like 35 to 6, who knows where It could’ve gone from there, but that’s not how it works you can’t go back and nit pick your mistakes and not point out the things Liberty could’ve done better as well

I am Huffman guy and this offense is out dated, stagnant, and just got good. l! Its the same freaking formation almost every single time, predetermined throws, and we don't have the athletes to run this offense. Liberty should have at least 3 picks if not 4. HELLO defensive coordinator, can you please please please read the fullback. He is taking you to the football EVERY SINGLE PLAY. I dont get it! Did you NOT watch film?

Wow I’ve been in Guam since the game so I didn’t get to see the replies to my post about the score. Huffman fans talking about if they didn’t fumble it’s a win ? You lost 29-12 and barely had the ball all game due to Liberty 1950’s offense , hate it all you want. Then the comment about “did Huffman DC not watch film the full back takes you to the play every time “ ...

ever seen remember the Titans ? “ I got 6 plays , split veer, like novacaine just give it time it always works.” Don’t hate on your DC, was every DC in the 1950s who gave up 30 points an idiot? No . That offense is awesome , it’s still a part of football today Georgia tech , navy they upset teams who run full spreads all the time , the opposing DC doesn’t get fired when that happens . And as far as excuses one of you just acknowledged that liberty dropped like 4 interceptions , so you can pick and choose and say oh if we didn’t fumble twice we would have won , well it was 29-12 maybe the game would’ve been closer but ummmm if we intercept those 4 easy picks , it’s even worse , an actual blowout . Just take the L , Liberty was literally the bigger stronger faster team with more talented players.
