  1. In this time in day, its about 3 things.... Money, facilities, and location.... Period............. If you do not have all 3, you will not stay on top.. LT is a prime example, came from never doing anything, to 5 in a row... Look at the location, the facilities, and we all know the money... Watch the finals on TV this year and listen to the announcers.. D1 kids going to SEC schools that have played for sometimes 3 high schools, tons of them play for at least 2... The good ole UIL has let it go to a point where its a miniature college scene. But back to BH.. BH is a great school, but have more issues with other things than devoting it all to sports.. My cousin was ran off from BH with the last regime.. Hes at King doing pretty well for himself running the offense.. BH has had good coaches before.. It takes more than that.. Crosby is in a good spot for the next 3 or so years, due to location, facilities and money, in that order.. Take the Mid County teams... Neauman coaches to get to the playoffs, as well as PN-G. Thats about as far as it goes.. Guess what, look at the location for 1... Then for Nederland look at facilities, then money... Yep, you guessed right, playoffs are about as good of a goal as your going to get.. PN-G same boat.. Location, is nothing better than horrible.. Now we have great Facilities, and money, but location is way less than desirable.. Dont get me wrong, these 2 get a few good athletes and every 4 or 5 years might get a few rounds, but its due to in house talent... PAM could win on a consistent basis, because they have tons of D1 kids every year.. But guess what they lack, money, facilities, and coaching... So it takes a certain SETUP to win.. Do not think for 1 second Katy lacks athletes... They have awesome facilities, a booster club that donates over half a million a year, and location is prime.... So in the nutshell do not fool yourself, because High School Football is BIG BUSINESS IN THE STATE OF TEXAS..... If you do not believe me, Just ask Art Briles......
  2. I think PNG wins district.................
  3. I said after the Baylor game, they have to be legit.. Thats typically what happens to the GOOD small schools against the D1 teams. You hang for a half and the depth gets you in the end.. Im not a Lamar faithful, but I think they might have a shot to make a little noise.. And I hope like hell they do... Im all in...... Go CARDS
  4. Something needs to change for sure... How can the University of Texas be so lackluster in all sports? To me its simple, if you are the CEO, and your stocks are going down every year, you have got to go... Its just like Charlie Strong, I think he is a good coach, but I think he was hired for a position he cannot succeed in... You have to play the politics in Austin.. Unless you are a Nick Saban type.....
  5. SIgn up, find a captain with a boat, and fish. All tournaments are held on Rayburn. He will need to find a partner. PM me if you have any questions I can give you all the contact info.
  6. Freaking awesome......2 bombs under that pressure... Coach must know his kids well, put him in ohfer and he jacks a curve.... Proud of these kids no matter what!!
  7. Problem is the stud will be eligible for PA... He was throwing low 80s and he is a lefty.... Need a 6th inning rally....
  8. Pearland needs to get it going.... You can't let one guy beat you....
  9. No surprise here... IMO one of the top 5 coaches ever in the State..... Congrats.....
  10. Best sport going!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Ole Tiger... After he figured out there was more to life than golf he has gone, I guess smart..... Kamillions of dollars and hot blondes, porn stars, hookers, waitresses, escorts... I guess I would be struggling as well..... Lol.

  15. All of this takes care of itself on Friday Nights. I was a board member for the STJFL for 3 years, ended in 07. Back then Lumberton won several senior Super Bowls.... Well guess what, those kids graduated last year, and Im sure Lumberton was not a dominating team in the district. The STJFL is setup to teach kids how to play football. What happens is that the rules that are in place get bent because of parents. Not the kids or the STJFL. Its the local leagues you should have issues with. If a team is LOADED, I assure you the STJFL didnt draft it. We played WOS every year and got our butts handed to us... We didnt like it, but I always told the kids, we are not going to be intimidated by WOS.... I didnt like it, but you know what it all worked itself out last year when PNG beat WOS. Nobody remembers what little Johnny did in Jr. League football. But everyone remembers what Johnny did on Friday night.  Now I agree that the board members might not be what your looking for, however, rules are rules, and I assure you the STJFL has the BEST rules of any local Jr. League around... If all the concern was on teaching kids how to play football vs wins and losses, guess what???? It would all take care of itself on Friday nights...........
