  1. BG has a little bit of sense on this subject... PAM is going to be good... Even though X Box is still around... Lumperton is exactly what they are.... Lumperton.. Not a chance in the world they make the playoffs... Central has the equivilant of a Playstation... Playstation 1 that is... Nederville has Neauman, hes a good coach, but they just cant match the talent from PAM.... So you have a code Purple, Code Black, Code Black and Gold, and Code maroon making the playoffs... For the rest, take up basket weaving and hope your basketball team is good.... As for the pick ems... BG.... Its on... Me vs you for a personal war..... Winner gets a dinner bought from the other.... You In!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Its been a while since I have made a post. But my take is simple. PAM and Nederland fight it out for DC. Central and PN-G fight it out for 3 and 4. The rest fight it out to stay .500. PAM will have the most talent in the district, but Larry has the best staff and the 3rd best talent in the district. Central has the 2nd best talent but will be outcoached a few games. So the scoop on PN-G is this. After we replace the coaches that leave, we will get back to work under the same offensive plan we use each year. O Line has some good talent coming up and I think we will see a better line than last year. QB situation will be Roschon. As long as he stays healthy he can gain some valuable experience for the next few years. The running back situation will be above average and possibly a upgrade from last year. The defense is making a few changes. LL to linebacker. Pray for good coaching to keep the kids in the right spots, if not it might be ugly. Defensively we are undersized and do not have a ton of speed. Discipline will be the key to the defenses success, which boils down to coaching. I think this group can take the coaching and hopefully it pays off in the end. McZeal will have the opportunity to be a big playmaker. For the football gurus that know the game, you understand that Giblin made the other recievers better last year since almost everyone rolled a safety on him. Hopefully Mczeal can be the same player this year that Giblin was the last few years. I have no idea about the kicking game, but I expect the norm. In the end I think we finish 3rd or 4th respectably. But the positives..... We have the best band, Indianettes, and cheerleaders around!!!!! I would not call it a rebuilding year since we have not been deep in a while, but in the end I think BF makes a quick playoff visit and exit, and keeps his job. Losses to PAM Nederland... Central is a 50/50 IMO. Where the heck is Buddy Garrity? If I cant defend my pick ems title against him I will retire!!!!!
  3. Not to stir the pot, oh heck, who am I lying too.... Yes, to stir the pot... The reason no WOS player would ever step on the field for a Crosby team is simple.... WOS is always a contender... And those kids would never want to be pretenders....
  4. Sometimes I wonder about the IQ... Well maybe all the time... my opinions are based on talent level. I personally know what PNG and Nederland have coming back.. This will be more of a rebuilding year for PNG. I call it rebuilding because I really don't have a better term. It's hard to rebuild from a 2nd round year, but that was a step up from previous years. I also hate the idea of MCM being the last game before the playoffs. For the simple fact, you hate to go into the playoffs on a loss.. And yes Bulldog nation, I said it... 7 in a row is more than likely the result of that game.. I do think that PAM will do well. I'm not a KH fan, but it's really easy to coach when you have the best athletes on the field week in week out.. And that will be the case.. LN will have another good team at Nederland, both lines will be stout and I don't think they will miss a beat from last year, might actually be even better if Mayfield is playing QB. Central has good athletes, but is held back by other issues.. So once again, I set it up like this... PAM Ned Central PNG
  5. IMO... PAM wins the district Nederland might share the title with them, but more than likely runner up Central comes in a strong 3rd PNG squeaks in the 4th spot. PAM has far superior athletes. The drop makes them legit. Nederland has LN, and a slew of returners. Central has great athletes. BF sneaks us in with wins over the bottom half..
  6. If JD doesn't win on the offensive side it's a travesty... Video game numbers can be put up by a lot of good athletes... State Championships are a different story... I've seen JD play several times and even stated this year after WOS put it on PNG, that JD is at a different level than AM was... To me he is the kind of kid that gets in the huddle and says, get ready, because we are going to put this thing in high gear... It's not about video game numbers, it's about wins... A true leader, athlete, will take you to the dance.... Nothing against any of these other candidates, but the proof is in the pudding......
  7. Looks like the next tournament might end up being a cold one!
  8. Post a schedule or PM me one and I will post it.. I know you can go to the site but it might make it easier.... Also it's never to late to sign up and fish... If anyone needs details let me know and I can point you in the right direction... Also there is always a need for captains if anyone is interested.....
  9. Dont be fooled into thinking that... Maybe a little bit of help, but those army kids move frequently according to the government, not CJ... While most SA schools play at neutral stadiums, CJ had what was the best stadium around back in the 90s.. Nowadays it's cool but not the best.. But we all know the tradition the Rockets have.. They pick up whatever they want from wherever they wanted back in the day.... And win year in year out.. I played with a fella named Priest Holmes in High School... He was legit... Army kid.... CJ begged for him.. But he stayed at Marshall and made it to A SC before losing to Permian... Another fella named Ndkwe Kalu, legit beast, both played in the league for years. And yes CJ made offers.. Another Army kid... Wayne Mggarity from SA Clark, same thing.. I have seen first hand from real legit future NFL players how it works... I won't get started about when both signed for college.... Just say this Erick Dickerson probably made a million before he left High School......lol..
  10. He was the first common day recruit.. Stud in Pop, mom got a gig at CJ as a secretary, went to court, blah, blah, blah.. Won back to backs, owned the rushing record for years.. He was a beast, trust me....
  11. So I guess the name Jerrod Douglas means nothing to you??
  12. And for my money, I would mimick myself to a Converse Judson.. They do it at a high level every year... Great location, great recruiting, big money, ton of tradition, good coaching.
  13. The answer is because money doesnt create the talent, it buys it... Get the good facilities, good coaches, and get that lucky break of winning a SC, and bam, here they come... Just like all the dynasties.. If anyone is thinking these kids are homegrown, well,, you know what I am saying.... LT is a prime example, look at what they had done before the 5 years... Absolutely nothing... And it helps your recruiting from Westlake first, then around the state...
  14. All my comments where about 5A.. 6A is a totally different ballgame.. Also classifications are so jacked up as well. Use Manvel for example when they formed.. Its just hard for a 1400 5A school to compete without money, facilities, and coaching.. You have to get a few kids every now and again to compete.. Thats correct i said compete... Winning at a high level is another story... This started with Lamarque, the Stephenville, then Southlake, then Lake Travis, and so on.. Whoever is the hot team at the time gets it rolling for a few years.. Whats crazy is look what happened at Lamarque.. No longer a school after this year.. But look at the location!!!! Baytown vs say Austin, just hard to compete... Lamar consolidated had a run but had the likes of Jaquizz Rodgers.. Its a business.... What are you willing to give up to win!!!
  15. I must have gotten tired of typing..lol.. Central has had some D1 talent, but lacks facilities and money, and coaching.. Ozen is in the same boat.. PN-G, Lumberton, and Vidor, have had no D1 talent for a long time.. Not sure about GCM and Baytown, but since they struggle to win games I imagine they are in the same boat...
  16. I left out the Central, they have put some D1 kids, and Ozen put out Tony Brown...
  17. You are right and Wrong... Nederland is beating other schools with the same non existent D1 talent... Once the playoffs come around, they do not make any big runs.. Krautz is a great High School player, Whaley could project better as a college player... I would also say Nederland has had more D1 kids than any other team in the district combined over the last 10 years (FBS).. And that number would be 2.. Thats correct 2... Dravonte Johnson with UT, and the Washington kid with A&M.... Livingston had 1 who went to UT and Strong booted.. Everyone else a big goose egg.....
  18. In this time in day, its about 3 things.... Money, facilities, and location.... Period............. If you do not have all 3, you will not stay on top.. LT is a prime example, came from never doing anything, to 5 in a row... Look at the location, the facilities, and we all know the money... Watch the finals on TV this year and listen to the announcers.. D1 kids going to SEC schools that have played for sometimes 3 high schools, tons of them play for at least 2... The good ole UIL has let it go to a point where its a miniature college scene. But back to BH.. BH is a great school, but have more issues with other things than devoting it all to sports.. My cousin was ran off from BH with the last regime.. Hes at King doing pretty well for himself running the offense.. BH has had good coaches before.. It takes more than that.. Crosby is in a good spot for the next 3 or so years, due to location, facilities and money, in that order.. Take the Mid County teams... Neauman coaches to get to the playoffs, as well as PN-G. Thats about as far as it goes.. Guess what, look at the location for 1... Then for Nederland look at facilities, then money... Yep, you guessed right, playoffs are about as good of a goal as your going to get.. PN-G same boat.. Location, is nothing better than horrible.. Now we have great Facilities, and money, but location is way less than desirable.. Dont get me wrong, these 2 get a few good athletes and every 4 or 5 years might get a few rounds, but its due to in house talent... PAM could win on a consistent basis, because they have tons of D1 kids every year.. But guess what they lack, money, facilities, and coaching... So it takes a certain SETUP to win.. Do not think for 1 second Katy lacks athletes... They have awesome facilities, a booster club that donates over half a million a year, and location is prime.... So in the nutshell do not fool yourself, because High School Football is BIG BUSINESS IN THE STATE OF TEXAS..... If you do not believe me, Just ask Art Briles......
  19. I think PNG wins district.................
  20. I said after the Baylor game, they have to be legit.. Thats typically what happens to the GOOD small schools against the D1 teams. You hang for a half and the depth gets you in the end.. Im not a Lamar faithful, but I think they might have a shot to make a little noise.. And I hope like hell they do... Im all in...... Go CARDS
  21. Something needs to change for sure... How can the University of Texas be so lackluster in all sports? To me its simple, if you are the CEO, and your stocks are going down every year, you have got to go... Its just like Charlie Strong, I think he is a good coach, but I think he was hired for a position he cannot succeed in... You have to play the politics in Austin.. Unless you are a Nick Saban type.....
