Dam, I might want to quit playing my tuba and chime in on this. Here is the facts, for his 2 years we are CO District Champs.. 11-2 last year and around the same this year. With a win over Nederland and PAM. So no matter what any opinion may be, that is the facts.

I'm aware RJ is the best player in the district. I was making a mockery of how they will put 3 quarterbacks on the 1rst team. There should be no MVP, unless he's a starter IMO...

My concern has nothing to do with the offense. R.J. has proved, even with a condensed play book (Nederland Game), we can move the ball. No scheme can stop that. My words where about the defense. Go back and watch us sit back in coverage last year against College Station. The Q.B. had a field day in every aspect. IMO, now granted I do not have a teaching degree, is play fast, and aggressive. If we do that, i am sure we will give up a few big plays, but might not give up enough to get beat. So scheme well on the defensive side of the ball, B.F.s words, not mine, P.N.G. has the best D.C. in the state. So if that holds true, we should be able to figure the SCHEME out and slow these guys down. To B.F.s credit, he is usually ahead of the curve on the offensive side, with exception of the Nederland game. So once again, if we can force 4 punts during this game, I like our chances. But so far, against Crosby and Texas City, we have not seen a TOTAL of 4 punts. So that is my only worry. I like the fact we are the underdog, as well as the fact we are coming off a subpar performance. I think we will be prepared and ready to steal this thing.

I would not coach a team simply because it does not pay enough. And a 4 year degree does not include a class on football. With your knowledge, obviously you should know that. So the scheme, which you misunderstood. The post stated. Play tight, meaning move your linebackers up in tight, corners up tight, and bring the safeties up. That is what bring them up tight means. And as stated, Welles, needs no help with the band, so I am out of luck on that one. However, I did help raise him 20K, that is just what kind of guy I am... If you pull up last years thread I said the same thing... If we play bend don't break we lose.... If we load the box, let them bust a few big runs, but make them beat us passing we have a shot. But If we do not take away the run, they will have a field day. Our defense is below average and not near as good as last year. Scheme will win this game, and only scheme. So If the best D.C. In the land is reading this... That's what you need to do to win. If not they will pick us apart, With everything they have. You can throw the 8th graders on the field and get the same tackling results. Our D line is our defensive strength, keep everyone in tight and play man, bring a safety up, and make them throw for 500.... I promise the QB is a far better runner than passer. If he beats you with pinpoint accuracy so be it.

Yeah, CougarCal was sitting with us and it took him about 5 minutes before he was calling every play from the board.. Might think about hiring him as a DC assistant. Then we could have the best DC in the state and the best Board reader in the state!!!!

Sometimes you need one of these games as a wake up call. We brought our C game and that was enough to advance. Next week is another big test, but hey, you can’t complain about the 3rd round. We know if we are on we can play with the big boys. Let’s strap me up next week and play it out... Thanks to Pak for all of your support!!
