All jokes aside, I never understood the crazy support that was poured out for the old South Park HS, or the gusto with which administration displayed when demolishing it. I’m sure there were dynamics at play that outsiders like myself could only wonder about.
I also fully expect that people who felt that they “lost” on South Park are poised to return the favor regarding whatever ends up happening to Central HS.
I fully expect that we’re all about to take another lap on the old BISD political roller coaster regarding the fate of the these two schools.
I’ve also read predictions that the TEA is displeased with the ongoing turmoil and steadily declining school rankings of some BISD campuses. That source believes that we’ll see a complete TEA takeover and a conservator appointed to replace the current Board of Managers within the next two months. I doubt it, but who knows what will happen if a conservator is appointed.

Not to mention the potential to take that third FB coach salary and split it between the two 6A schools, allowing them to actually pay a 6A salary to the football coaches. The names that might jump at the chance to coach a combined Central and Ozen squad for a competitive salary might shock us all. Plus, a district matchup between WB and "the school to be named later" would be something to look forward to year in and year out. This is all positive.
Finally a BOM that truly cares about the kids and the future of BISD rather than their own interests.

So... the community renamed a street to honor MLK and then some individual erected a monument to confederate veterans, proving the community is racist?
Its like anything else. Racism sells. Nobody wants to read a story about a man’s good deeds. A story with elements about racism gets blood pumping of both sides. Do you remember the hoopla when that kid shot up the black church in SC? A solid month of media hysteria that resulted in confederate flag bans and the fact that I can’t even watch the Dukes of Hazzard reruns anymore. Did it seem like the church shooting a couple of weeks ago where 3x as many people were killed got the same amount of attention? Hardly. But there wasn’t a racist angle for the media to exploit.
I think that ET3 is a heckuva football player,a role model for his humanitarian works, and a fantastic human being. He deserves a story about himself that isn’t stretched over a framework of tales about regional racism. But then again, nobody would read that story even if ESPN published it.

And you share the opinion of the author... the only thing is that I can appreciate your opinion, and you don’t have the capacity to realize that you might be wrong.
The fact that so many people don’t agree with the perspective of the writer should be indication to you that there is one way to view the issue. It’s not just “if you don’t see things my way, then you’re a racist.” I think the key word you’ve left out is “deflecting.” Because that’s what gets said about anyone who doesn’t espouse slavery, racism and “privilege” as the primary cause of ALL of the woes that affect the black community in 2017.
Why are things so bad in Orange, PA, and soon to be Beaumont AFTER all of those no-good racists moved away?

Okay, I think we've exhausted all of the sports that this topic had to offer.....not that ESPN, a supposed "sports" channel ever intended this as a sports story or ever really gave any sports out of this to offer.
We'll move this and park it in the political section, where ESPN has made clear it wishes to hang out these days.

Same old song and dance. I've said this before about our SETX teams. Everybody from Woodville was tooting their horn about how good they were. I told them last year and this year too. When you get our of this area and play good teams that run the spread and can stretch the field you can't compete. Yoe proved it last year, Rockdale this year, it's sad but true. Until we get one of our teams that has a good balanced attack and minimal 2 way players, this trend will continue.

Ok... I hate to be the voice of reason, but.... how many OTHER buildings in Southeast Texas were a total loss as a result of Hurricane Harvey that received no floodwater?
Add to that the fact that the “total devastation” want even recognized until after kids had returned to school.
BISD is using Hurricane Harvey as a cover for convincing the feds/insurance to further an agenda. I obviously have no clue what the big wigs in Beaumont have planned, and based on the theories being floated here, most of you don’t either.
If I had to guess, based on history I’d bet that there is already a plan for a combo of Ozen and Central to create a new campus that would outshine West Brook in all areas.
Or, a decision to send kids back into Central with little to no renovation if it turns out resources are not given to BISD by the feds.
Either way, we already know that Walker Electric has the electrical work on lockdown.
I also think they should build the new school out there by the Butch and use his name on it as well, just to avoid any confusion.

That’s all I was saying. I expected PAM to be rag-dolling EVERYBODY in the District.  With the advantages that PAM has (bigger enrollment and quantity of talent) over the rest of the district, they should be talking about their shutout streak.... not complaining about refs costing them close games.

I think we understand each other.  I expected WOS-like domination over the District and PAM fan expected to finish as co-champs at best after dropping a game or two each year.

WOS has been dominating the district for a lot longer than the last three to four years.  Somebody can correct me, but I think they've only lost one district game since 09 or something like that.
You're kinda making my point for me.... if PAMs JV could beat most of the district's varsity squads, why does PAM keep ending up as co-champs?
