Definitely the poorest loser in tge history of sport forums! I wish Crosby would have won for the team and the hard work of the coaches and the players, but im sure im not the only one on here thats glad they lost just for the fact of your "ATTITUDE"!

Man this thread sure is quiet today. We're all the Crosby fans at? No need to dwell on a lose you got beat by a better team plain and simple. You will be back next year with a deep run. Believe me I know how you feel we went to 2 straight state championships and got beat both times. It's a sickening feeling

I think you've got to give Taylor 4-5 years to see what he can do with liberty. Takes time to change a culture. Hopefully he's got the board's support.

I saw last night on Channel 6 news where we have another local team that might be playing for a state championship.  LCM's Special Olympic flag football team.  Good luck to the team.  Winners in my eyes already.

Based on a very small sub population several years ago, your education statement would be remotely accurate. Dayton's scores are improving yearly.... especially where it counts most, with high school test scores and graduation rates being one of the most improved in the state I believe. ROTC was added this year and is doing very well. Soccer was recently approved also. Lots of good people are battling hard to bring Dayton to relevance in a lot of areas so stop peeing in the pool...do you even live here anymore?

Congrats to all who earned all-dist. honors. A special shout out to my grandson #56 from Jasper,Tx. . Alec Williams. You were a beast this year  & we are proud of you. Missed a lot of Newton games watching  him and he didn't disappoint us any. Just a proud shout out!

Agree 100% Boner. Its like parents that spend all their time at school hanging out with coaches and using their associations with school board members to keep their kids from getting punishments they deserve.

I have not heard anything about Dubois even thinking about this job.... My 2 cents???? I think it was the worst move Martel ever made.... When I asked Finis Vanover why he did not apply for the HJ job 2 years ago, his reply was " you never go back"....

By the way - I am an LU grad...my daughter high jumps for SHSU so I do support them as well with plenty friends with kids on the LU football team....I'd really like to see them do well - WITH Coach Woodard at the helm.

That is a very good post. I can respect that. Believe it or not I so know what you're saying. I know that there are several low income areas down here, and that there is very little expansion or new business. I also know that oil companies swindled mineral rights away from land owners generations ago. I do know most kids in other areas of the state probably have never seen a FEMA trailer nor had to evacuate for a hurricane. And I have more respect for coaches and educators than any profession in the world. I defend coaches on this site all the time. I believe that there wouldn't be doctors and engineers without teachers.

But I also believe that there has to be a way. We live in a country where things can be changed simply by the will of the people. Me personally .. I am not ok with these kids accepting something simply because "our school is poor". I think out society doesn't need any help being ok with mediocrity. The kids going to school in this part of the state deserve a fair shake at competing in life as anyone else. And that's the message that has to be sent. How can kids in Orangefield compete with kids at Katy? Or any other prominent area in the state. And don't say they don't have to. All trying to get into same college, get same job, buy same house.

I told you guys...it's so much more than just a turf field.

We're not running down any kids or coaches man. We just want them to be on a level playing field with the rest of the state. We're trying to open yalls eyes to what's happening around the state. We're bashing whoever it is that refuses to improve the facilities for these kids and coaches...that's it man. That's it.

I remember when I first was tagged as a setx hater. Last year when Kountze made the playoffs. I said.."what's the big deal? They got 4th place. They always get 4th place." Boom. Immediate setx hater.

This year you guys actually started a thread saying 4 teams was a joke and had no reason to have that many teams in the playoffs. Almost every person on this site agreed with it. But I'm a fool.

The kids are not interested in football. The 7th and 8th grade only had about 14 kids on each team and the JV cancelled against Newton because if they got an injury they would not have enough players on the field. The coaches cannot do anything for a kid that does not want to play and you cannot make them play. You have to develop the kids and a coach cannot do that while the kids would rather be playing games on the computer rather than lifting weights, etc..
 The football future looks very dim for the next few years for Hemphill.
 Someone from Hemphill argued that playing a weak schedule was the way to build the confidence for the players, well, just how much confidence did it build. Hemphill could not even beat the weak teams.
 A once good program from years ago has vanished.
 Changing the coaching staff if not going to change the program at this stage(as a matter of fact they have done that the last few years and it has accomplished nothing).. You have to get the kids out for football and after a few years if the program has not changed then you can look at changing the coaching staff.

I'm flattered. My dad always said being truthful would pay off.
