87JAG reacted to WOSgrad in TODD DOUGHTY NAMED AS NEW HC/AD AT KIRBYVILLE
At the request of a member here, the Kirbyville AD thread has been moved as I have learned that threats have been exchanged.
Guys, I know that we are passionate about our sports, our schools and our teams. Certainly that passion will be demonstrated in the posts that are made here.  However, when the passion in the posts degenerate into physical threats, that is troubling.
A reminder that any threats of physical abuse either in open forum or the private messages are grounds for immediate banishment.

Odds on favorites to win the DC.... lots of talent moving on, though.  I don't see them winning the SC because of the key pieces that won't be around.
They still go undefeated in district and go 3-4 rounds, minimum.

1st off, how about you inbox me your name so that I know who you are and not just hiding behind a screen name...
Sounds like you got mad because other people on this board started calling out your creditability.  Well the phone calls that I made and received yesterday, nothing has been announced as of 9:00 this morning officially.  I hope it does get announced this week so that the ball can get rolling for spring ball in May.  I have boys in the program.
I do understand that some administrators have not been the most supportive of certain coaches for whatever reason.  Stowers who was there from 2005-2008 and went 27-17 over his time there with a district championship was a prime example.  But his administrator at that time is currently behind bars where she belongs.  I do know that we had several young men that competed at the Texas Relays this past weekend in Austin and the district would not foot the bill.  So a few of the coaches, who I highly commend, came out of their pocket for rooms, transportation, food, etc. to make it happen.  To give those young men a chance to compete at a higher level and go to Austin.  Austin is a hop, skip and a jump away for some of us, but lets be honest, a few of those young men may never go to Austin again but they will at least have lasting memories of what those coaches did and being with their teammates.  While I'm on the subject, Central has the best track team, girls and boys, in Beaumont.  Yet they practice on the worst and unsafest track in the city.  When this issue is brought up to administrators at all levels, basically whats being said is the track is not going to get fixed no time soon.  So while Ozen and West Brook can walk outside of their campus for track practice, coaches and students have to shuttle the kids over to Babe Zaharious for track practice because the district won't supply a bus for that either.
Name you one thing positive?  Kids going off to college on academic scholarships to get a high education.  Kids being accepted to medical programs after graduating high school because of the medical program on campus.  Kids going on to the military right out of high school with a higher rank because of the ROTC program.  I would consider the band successful in getting kids to further their education as well.  One of my boys is #2 academically in his class and the other is not to far from the top either.  So hey, there you go.
I don't keep up with Ozen.  In my opinion, it should have never been opened.  You are correct, Dixon (49-53-2) is the longest tenured coach to come through Central.  Sedberry (30-13), Stowers (27-17), Washington (22-23) and Foreman (23-21) are the only others to at least stay 4 years.  Of them, only 1 (Washington) was removed.  The others left on their own accord for various reasons.  But I do think Nelson (when officially announced) will be there longer than 4 years and have the program going in the right direction.
Man, I know a lot more about the happenings around that particular school than you think.  People like you are the problem.

This might be the best case scenario for Central. He wants to be there and we know the talent is there. Time to crank it up!!!

Want to be the first to congratulate Jeff Nelson as the new BMT Central Head Football Coach. Good luck Coach Nelson! Heard it tonight from the horses mouth! You were screwed over once by BISD administration but now go get your redemption. Nelson inherits the only other team besides PNG in District 22-5A that has made the playoffs four consecutive years. Build on the Jag Tradition and take it to another level. Go Jags!

I agree with most people on here. It's all or nothing with me. You either take it all or stay away. There are private schools and programs that would take you with willing arms. I know most public programs would jump at a chance to take a student if he was a beast, but what would they do if he was a bench rider?
If you want to go home, stay home.

West Brook has an all black alternate uniform don't they? And black isn't one of its colors. Personally, I think if you have it in the budget, and the numbers can be seen in the press box, AND the alternate color isn't too crazy, then go for it. Most of the time, the kids love it.

Imo, with the BOM in place, I think football coach quality is not a big priority right now so I really expect the easy (and laziest) thing to do would be to hire from within instead of hiring from outside, conducting interviews, ect.  Talked to Yeoj and he brought that up prior to the WB hire and that's exactly what happened.  But it'll be a blessing in disguise because it'll mean we have a better chance at getting Nelson....

I don't have nothing but love for the man.  He tried to do a lot for the kids. I know there are several kids on that team who were penitentiary bound. A few who I brought to his attention myself. He invested a lot of time and effort away from school in them. Everybody might not like him but I know his heart was in the right place. I wish him the best.
Coach Nelson was up against some of the same things at Ozen. He was going that extra mile when they railroaded him. I hope he get the Central job.
I've been saying that BISD's AD cultivated a culture where coaches would rather take a pay cut than stay in the district. If you look at, all head coaches try to leave the district fairly quick.

I didn't want to say it but you are absolutely correct.  He had 2 good years off of a disciplined team that Stowers had built.  So I do give Foreman credit for coming in after 2 loosing seasons and turning the ship around.  Hopefully he can do the same at Shoemaker...

I doubt it.  I don't see either position being filled until the AD spot is filled.  I do see the Bruins and Jaguars being coached next year by someone that is already on their current staffs.  My opinion, stay away from outsiders, because most are just looking for a platform to somewhere else...

    I have an interesting fact.
WOS has never lost to The University of Alabama.  I know right!  At first I was like.. "surely WOS has been beaten by Bama at some point.  At least during the Nick Saban era.  Saban can beat anyone at least once."  So I googled it....sure enough.  The mighty WOS Mustangs have never lost a football game to the Crimson Tide!  Trust me...I'm as surprised as all of you.  Completely blown away.

Doubtful, given that it would be in terms of pay a pure lateral move and that he has had his own issues with BISD.  Remember, last year he was literally a phone call away (less, according to some people), from taking the HC job at a school 2 classifications smaller in order to leave the district.
