  1. The winning years were from a team he did not build.
  2. They aren't evenly matched. I think Ozen had the better team. They stopped taking advantage of their size. They were better offensively when they set up their offense. It was a good game though. Among other things, Central needs to work on their free throws. They had an opportunity to win it at the free throw line twice.
  3. People on here talking about who WOS can't beat. That's a bunch of BS! A long as you beat the team that lines up in front of you. We're saying they can't beat Katy or North Shore, but they can beat all the teams of the people posting on this site so what's the difference. Good luck in the playoff WOS.
  4. Well now they have a coach is who is a product of the program and wants to be there. He's not going to quit to take a job Legacy. He cares about his alma mater so the effort will be there. There are some great kids in that program. I wish him well. I hope they beat everybody but Central.
  5. Congrats Coach! They picked the right man for the job!
  6. Hopefully they will hire someone who is not going to make backdoor deals. The coach hiring process under him has been just a formality. The coaches are selected prior to the interviews.
  7. All I have to say is BEASTMODE!
  8. Central is glad to have him back!
  9. Congratulations Chris. Keep up the good work. [Hidden Content]
  10. Everything is not the kids fault. Coaches have to be up for the challenge as well. I've said it several times on here. The best programs in the area have stability. BISD will never be dominant again as long as they change coaches every couple of years and they let kids transfer schools at will. They have created a culture where coaches just do not want to stay here. You recently heard Coach Foreman was offered another job. You have to ask yourself why did he apply to a smaller school nonetheless? How many coaches has the district went through under the current AD? It is very rare that a good coach will stay here long. Look at all the winning coaches that have been here since the creation on the school trifecta. WOS is the standard here! Great program. Two coaches in 25 - 30+ years. Much as it hurts me to say it, Ned is a well coached team. They always have been. They maximize the talent they have and don't make excuses. They know what to do with talent when they get it. PNG is a respectable program.
  11. I will be the first one to say that was not a fan of his in high school, but I always hoped he would do good in college because he represents the area. I hope he bounces back from this in a positive way.
  12. Realistically, there are all state kids that don't get recruited very hard.
  13. Previous coach did not allow anyone to play that did not participate in the off season activities. If the turnout is low for that then you know the rest. Current coach is not like that.
  14. Ozen was Dr. Thomas' baby. Anything affiliated with him is the devil. ~ SO THEY SAY
  15. The incoming freshman numbers looked like a 3A program. Then, quite a few kids quit when they hired the new coach (thanks to some bitter assistants).
  16. Westbrook went through the same thing when Stump left. Did anyone see how many kids Central fielded on varsity this year? It was a doggone shame. All (bmt) schools go through this from time to time.
  17. BISD is trying to save money using that same old OC Mike Taylor philosophy. If you are not familiar with him, he is the one who closed all the other high schools in the first place. They never should have opened Ozen there in the first place, BISD has even tried for force kids to go to Ozen. They tried it with my daughter.. I am, however for keeping it open because it gives 22 more kids an opportunity to play football, 5 more for basketball, etc. That's another valedictorian and honor grads. It gives the kids opportunity. The problem is zoning and freedom of choice. They need to rezone the schools to something normal. They have talked about neighborhood schools but that does not apply to high schools. I live near Central but I'm dual zoned to Brook & Ozen. My kids graduated from different high schools cause I moved across the street. Going to a regular zoning plan makes more sense which is probably why they won't do it.
  18. I'm wondering why the government is waiting. Do they think the guys are going to change their mind? We have several ways to resolve conflict in this country. Hostile takeover is not one of them. Yes the government owns a lot of land but you don't have unlimited rights to it. There shouldn't be any negotiations. Remove them from the premises.
  19. Those boys been playing together for a long time.
  20. Good luck. I think it's a good idea, but there might be some parents not willing to participate because basketball season is starting.
  21.   I 100% agree. You see it all the time. I saw a kid crossing up other kids his age. His daddy thought he was the best. His coach said the other guard would be better than him because he listen instead of thinking he knew everything. 3 years later when everyone could do the same things as he could he would get frustrated and cry during the game. He went from the "best" to a participant to not playing at all. I've seen it in several sports. Usually they daddy blame it on the coach.     It's okay for a spectator parent to be biased towards their kid. But, remember that their body of work will speak for itself.
  22. Some of the Vincent kids been playing together since elementary. Coaching does play a part in it. Vincent's coach haven't done anything special. Several of the kids don't even like him. They knew how to play before they made the team. All that summer league paid off. You can see the coaching or lack of it when there is a press. Guards dribbling into the press and thinking they can out dribble it.
