I agree, but I don't think anyone is trying to down the players or coaches. Just speaking on what they're seeing. We all see the potential in this team, that 1st quarter gave us a peek at what they can be. I know I'm hungry for a whole view. I know they can play less than their best and finish 1st or 2nd in dist.

The backup got hurt Friday night I think. #76 Ross is a freshman he tooks some snaps and was kinda inconsistent. The put some other kid in can't remember his number and he did a better job.

I don’t know if you guys noticed but , the starting center got hurt & we had problems. High snaps, low snaps & some were so slow getting there , it threw off the timing of the plays . Thats something I can’t understand. All these players & only one kid is capable of snapping the ball ? You had 2 weeks to clean that up , because it happened ALL game against BMT United .IMO , if we clean that up , we’ll be ok

& also numerous of snaps were rolled to the QB. Galena Park just pinned their ears back & run blitzed. They knew we weren’t gonna pass until we got our snaps gleaned up ..... the RBs were getting hit as soon as the QB was handing the ball off..... but like I said earlier, I like our chances of we get the snaps cleaned up

Why though if a kid doesn’t want to play for you  let him go , I got a lot of words for coaches  who pull that because they would leave a program for a better one in a minute ,more money and etc etc . These coaches always say it’s about the kids then if that’s the case let them go, you don’t own the kid.

Game should/could have been 60+to 3. Toooooo many penalties.  Defense was dominant but had tooo many penalties.  Almost embarrassing with that talent.  Offense comes a little slower than defense, so if this is considered slow, I cant wait to see how they look when they get it together.  Ladia had some awesome throws, I mean awesome throws and some dropped balls, and a few missed passes. Overall really good for a first time starter along with the young running back that runs that hard. (WOW)  He will have an awesome career.  He'll be the next great PA runner.  Looks to be a complete team, just make those adjustments and theyll go far.

Many times, that was the case. Personally seen them show up late for games, one time after halftime and another at the start of the 4th quarter. Lot's of other times they never could get a broadcast because of their own technical difficulties. And their radio signal is probably the weakest signal in the area. Out side of 20 miles, you get nothing.

That's great. I hope they take advantage of the Houston area camps. Not all are invite, some are free and some you pay. The ones you pay are investments in your kid. You never know who has eyes at these camps and you can greatly improve your stock or rating by going to the right place at the right time.

Mike's coverage & broadcast of Memorial's State Title was fantastic.  I hope all of the Golden Triangle enjoyed it.
The Memorial fans that got to listen to the game because of those donors, keep one thing in mind.  Mike does this with little recognition outside of the SetxSports community.
Spread the word.  Never take our broadcasters for granted because they do not have to do this.
I for one will be making sure that the Silsbee community is reminded that we have a gem and a blessing for our sports coverage. It can end at any moment.
    Respect.

Lancaster has been down this year with 13 losses.  But after beating Waxahachie, they are definitely peaking at the right time.  Midlothian’s Kaden Archie will be the best player at that regional, and I suspect the winner of their game with Prosper (who is also very tough this year) will be the favorite to beat the winner out of Lancaster and Mt. Pleasant.   But you’re right, Lancaster is always one to look out for.

    Hello everyone,

My name is Terrell Brittain and I am deaf. I want to tell you how I feel and need express my feeling as well. I suppose to graduate with class of 1998. I went to West Orange Stark in 1994-1996 and played football and baseball. You don't have to read this if you don't like to read long message! Haha

You might wonder why my user is WOS1986. Let me explain why. When I was little boy and went first state championship WOS vs. McKinney in 1986 that how I remembered. After that, my dad keep take me to watch WOS every Fridays and I told him that my dream is to play Mustang with silver and blue helmet on me.

I went to Texas School for the Deaf in Austin, TX. I realized that there is Deaf world and impact my life that who I am and reason why I have been success with my career. I am professor at University of Houston to teach American Sign Language for Interpreting program. I am proud what I done and pride deaf myself. I marry to deaf wife and had precious 2 kids who are hearing but they know the sign language that can communicate with us which is amazing. I am happy man and enjoy to continue great journey with many more years later. My wife really love to attend WOS game even she never attend WOS and really enjoy to watch football games.

Sometime, I feel regret that I left without say goodbye or let them know to my friends, players, teachers, and coaches. I played nose guard in defense. In 1994 freshman year, first practice at football was so amazing and coaches allow me to play since most people think deaf can’t play anything which is not true and I prove coaches that I can play. I ended up play junior varsity team after only 2 or 3 games for freshman team because I play so hard and like animal tackle quick. In 1995 sophomore year, practice on the field somehow coach T call my name to play with varsity group then I suddenly shock and not play well myself that is not who I am then coach put me back to junior varsity team again because I was not ready. When I arrived home and I was so mad and upset myself because I was so close to varsity team. Coach call my name to be part of this team for playoff and I was so thrilled about that and I never forget that game which is against LaMarque  in 1995 and lost 7-18. I was so hurt bad and pissed off after that game because I see Sias, Lock, Feathers, and Bernard that they were hurt and want win so badly. One day, Lock and Bernard came to me and chat that we will win state champion in 1997 with our classmate so I agreed with them and make me so fire up and goal. However, I ended up went to Austin school.

I never forget that game in 1997. My team (Austin school) got out of the playoff before Thanksgiving so that Thanksgiving week I went to home and asked my brother to take me to watch WOS vs. LaMarque in the playoff. When I arrived and saw my boys during warm up and was hurt myself because I suppose to play with them. When LaMarque open drive and ran the wide open hole middle on WOS defense. I was so pissed off and sick about that and wish that I played that. Maybe or maybe not, if I played and it could be a little different game because I will big fire up and animal as monster to hit hard LaMarque.

I will always bleed in silver and blue no matter what! Even I live in northeast of Houston and still attend watch WOS in Orange that take me 1 and half hours to drive but worth and show my loyal to them. When I can't go then I always look this website to see follow up the score. I really enjoy to see my old friends.

Please do not critique my grammar English cause English is my second language while ASL (American Sign Language) is my first language. That is reason why I don’t post much after I saw sometime people post and insult their language or poor in English. Everyone treat same equal and its human.

I want thank WOSgrad and kicker that encourage me to post and express my feeling and tell who I am so now everyone know who I am.

Sorry for LONG message that you had to read. It is worth for me to tell my feeling now I feel better. Please share with anyone who doesn’t have this account.

    Go Mustangs!!!

Man awesome post! Forget what anyone has to say... Maybe you should look into starting or joining a program that inspires deaf children to play sports and not worry about what others think! Everything happens for a reason and the big man upstairs does not make mistakes! Everyone is unique and should have the opportunity to play sports and compete! Congrats on your accomplishments sir!!

While most of us recognize the value of choosing to play a good program like Newton in the buildup to district play, not everybody feels that way.
If you are a coach with big aspirations of moving on in your coaching career, it’s hard to do much with a bad winning percentage. Locking yourself into 2-3 guaranteed Ls each year isn’t a good way to get a better paying gig.
Plus, a big school playing Newton is kinda like picking a fight in a gay bar. You can’t brag if you win, but you’d better not lose.

As i stated to Mr.Shapiro kids or parents cannot get in their feelings. 15 Man roster for varsity that’s it , 12-15 for both JV A/B,same for freshman. The true question is how many of the those kids are varsity level players especially if you a junior on jv aometimes the writing is on the wall not for all but for some it is. The truth is unless kids are putting in the work during the summer they will get left behind period point blank. I hear ppl talking about scholarships how many guys have earned a scholarship from all 3 Bmt schools in the last 5 yrs. if you do a breakdown it seems like a lot but you can be fooled by so called talent. Last year only 3 kids from any of the Bmt schools went on to play college ball. Here is a very harsh reality about HS . No matter how many points certain players score, it may not ever translate in to playing  Juco,NAIA,D1,D2 or D3.  Ppl may not like it, but it’s the absolute truth.

One other classy moment from Silsbee tonight.  In the 3rd quarter, Devon McCain tipped the ball out of a Bobcat ballhandler’s hand and it went backcourt, with orangefield getting the ball back.  Ref incorrectly calls back court.  Devon tells ref he tipped it.  Refs confer and Devon walks over and tells them again he tipped it.  Regardless, sometimes refs are intent on making a horrible call.  But for those of you questioning McCain’s character, I thought that showed a lot.

I attended yesterday's game. Silsbee suited out 9 players, played 7. Of those 9, 3-4 will be starters, 2 will be varsity players, the others JV. Atascocita suited out 15 players with only 2 players expected to be moved down to JV when football ends. Cita coach told me he is only expecting 1 football player to be on varsity and he is a bench player. Cita's top 10 in rotation played yesterday, including their best player who had been out the first few games this year. Silsbee will be getting 7 from football, with 1-2 of them being starters and 3 being the first 4 off the bench. That's very significant when comparing these two teams in a game. Enrollment size not the issue. What was on the floor and bench yesterday is the issue. Just facts.
No way, no way should Atascocita with their full team should lose to a Silsbee "Lite" team. I said Cita would beat Silsbee, which they did.
Silsbee at full strength beats Cita yesterday, no question. Many in attendance with no Silsbee connections stated this as well. Now I don't necessarily believe Silsbee beat's Concordia with a full team, but they would have had a better chance with a full squad.
Silsbee has faced this issue for years. Starting off the season without several varsity players is nothing new for the Tigers. The difference in the last 3 years or so from past years, is that Coach Sigler has upgraded the schedule in the early part of the season. Playing full squad 6A, 5A and big Private schools early who have played a few games is a tall task for a full Tiger squad, much less a Lite squad.
This all works for Silsbee in the long run. So what if Silsbee is something like 3-7 when football ends. The team will be better for it.

I don’t post much AT ALL, BUT I have to say this.  Not going to sit here and say I’m a first class coach because I’m FAR from that.  I will say this though. I consider myself to be relatively smart.  With that said....  First, so what if Temple knows.  They wouldn’t know when it’s coming anyhow.  Secondly, I’m not one to dog “Xbox.”  If you’ve been to Memorial games you KNOW he doesn’t call the plays. Harmon does. He might overrule a play or two, but he lets everything play out for the most part. With that said. Harmon, you CANNOT be so predictable. Hines is a BEAST and everyone knows it.  Temple most importantly knows it.  Be smart in the play calling.  Have that feel for the game.   When you you feeling Hines is your best options, THEY gonna be thinking the same.  A quick play action or slant to the inside/outside is the way to go.  You will NOT be able to push the Temple D-line and force your will on them whenever you please like you’ve done to previous opponents.  WHEN THEY expect something, they are going to crash down on it and kill it.  Tell Keitha to be ready and on point. Big time players make big time plays in big time situations.  More than sure you’ve heard that plenty of times before.  Keep this in mind.   When you thinking run they are too. I’ve been to almost every game for the past 6 years. I know your next play before hand. Surprise me bro, stay off that obvious sheezzznee.  Play smart and off the charts. I’ve seen y’all do some pass plays in different games that work, but never seen them again.   OPEN up the playbook. Give them boys a chance. Hit them and everyone else with the unexpected.  If it works it works. If it don’t. You tried! Can’t call an obvious game and expect to say you gave your team a chance.  You know why the Patriots won the Super Bowl.  Because they hit ATL with TWO unexpected plays on the two point conversions.   Third, and finally,  you all have too much potential to let it go to waste. Get them boys mane!! It’s PA all the way baby!!! Good luck Titans. PLAY YOUR HEARTS OUT AND YOU WILL SUCCEED.
