Yes, they scraped by St. Thomas last week who is trying to be a division 3 school by 2 points. Huston Tillotson is an NAIA school and currently leading Lamar. These are both home games. The coming weekend play three Division I schools in the McNeese tournament. Starting the year like this may be another long season...was surprised they played so close to TCU but I don't know what players TCU had on the floor that night. TCU currently ranked 15th but that doesn't mean much this early in the season.

At the end of July when Astros were playing Mariners the Astros Rafael Montero's pitch hit Julio Rodriguez while he swung at it and Rodriguez went to the injured list.

Lamar starts 2022-23 season with an exhibition game on Nov 2 at 7 pm. Next up is St. Thomas TX a division III school on November 7 followed by a trip to preseason #14 TCU on Nov 11.

In the Friday late game Abilene Christian beat Grand Canyon Saturday Abilene Christian and Grand Canyon play again for the right to advance to the championship game. Meanwhile New Mexico state - one of the teams with the poorest record coming in (10-20 in conference and 23-32 overall) = has already reached the championship game. Such is tournament life.
