Anybody heard any word on this? It has been two months and all is awfully quiet. Time for some shakeups in our athletic department.

Utah Valley eliminates Lamar 9-5 in WAC softball tournament.

Speaking of pitching I did a little research. Our two main starters Wheaton and Douthit have started 23 of the 48 games this year and are the top two as far as innings pitched. Only two other pitchers have started more than 5 games this season (Ekness and Morse). The pitcher with the third most innings pitched is reliever Jack Dallas. Our overall ERA is about 4.31 but runs allowed per game is closer to 5.5. This reflects all the errors I have constantly mentioned. The defense is putting extra strain on an already thin staff. When you get to these tournaments you will be in a ton of innings over a day or two. With so few pitchers that have been depended on it's tough to see making a deep run in the tournament.

Lamar plays Utah Valley on May 11 at 10 am in a single elimination game in the WAC tournament. The winner moves to the double elimination portion against Abilene Christian at 4 pm May 11.

Trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the 7th Lamar scored four runs to take a 5-2. Starting pitcher Adam Wheaton pitched 7 1/3 innings giving up the two runs (only one earned) as again the defense committed two errors. Jack Dallas pitched the final 1 1/3 to earn another save. Rubber game of the series Sunday at 1 pm.

Lamar falls 9-5. Starting pitcher Douthit goes six innings and gives up two runs (none earned) as Lamar commits four errors again. Three relievers combine to give up seven more runs. Game 2 Saturday at 2 pm.

Well still accurate on your prediction. Lamar loses a doubleheader Friday to Sam by scores of 2-1 and then 8-0 in five innings. Now sitting at 79 losses over the last two seasons.

Is it possible we could make a category called Lamar baseball and put all the baseball under that? We have softball and basketball separated. It would be easier to locate each main subject. Just my two cents.

In the final conference series we host 12-38 Sam Houston. Sam swept us at their place and is 31-69 over the last two seasons. Also, from what I keep seeing all the teams eligible for bid will make the WAC tournament because there are only 8 teams eligible for an NCAA bid. Am I reading that correctly?

Lamar beat SFA 4-3. Jack Dallas with the win even though he gave up the go ahead run in the 8th. Defense with two more errors. today. Lamar still in second place in WAC Southwest Division. Next weekend travel to first place Sam Houston after a Tuesday game with Houston.

Agree. While things may look good on paper I want to see some on court results before I will be a believer. We've heard things are about to get better for the last 25 years in a row now. Of course, at this point it would be hard to go any direction but up.

Lamar beats SFA 5-4. Lamar took a 5-1 lead into the 9th inning. This time Jack Dallas gave up 3 earned runs in the 9th inning. He has been one of the better relievers (sort of). While he had given up 13 runs on the season prior to tonight only 6 of had been earned. Lamar again committed two errors with none of them figuring in the scoring. Game 2 is scheduled for Saturday at 2 p.m.

Lamar softball team was swept this weekend by SFA. Combined run totals for the three games SFA 26 Lamar 1. Overall record for Lamar is now 4-14 in conference and 9-27 overall. Record over past two seasons is 17-70
