Not to add fuel to a growing fire or anything, but I would just like to point out that PN-G's higher level of property wealth per capita versus Nederland, owing to the former's more industrial tax base, also means PN-GISD loses substantially more state funding than NISD to recapture, better known as "Robin Hood." When all is said and done, the net per capita funding disparity is not as significant as one might think, and nowhere near as significant as it was before the Robin Hood plan was put into effect a little over 30 years ago.

It is also worth noting that Maintenance & Operations funding (i.e., money for day-to-day operations) and Interest & Sinking funding (i.e., money to pay off bonds) are two separate streams of tax revenue for school districts that are assessed as separate line items on your property tax bill. To PhatMack's point, the latter is totally dependent on the structure and amount of the bond proposed by the school district, subject to rate caps and other mandates imposed by the state. I doubt there's much, if any, difference in the overall cost to the individual homeowners in PN-GISD and NISD over the lives of their respective bonds after inflation is controlled for, or at least little difference attributable to anything other than differences in the total, inflation-adjusted costs of the bonds.

PNG can use a loop hole in Robinhood like BH. For a small fee, our superintendent can show them.😁

IDK about edge in coaching after 3 huge blown leads last year?

Losing that SR class is gonna hurt too. Who is the QB? LBs ?

I give BH coaching the edge in this district every day of the week. Out O-line will be a strong point by returning all, but one from this year. We have a very good RB returning, but you’re right at QB. The front runner is probably a kid that will run over most defenses in this district. He has a year to work on his passing skills. He’s a load to take down. We will hurt on D side, but I don’t know who BH can plug in the LB position. Overall, BH will be in the mix.

Who are they going to beat to get in the playoffs?

Angleton , BH , PAM , and GBALL are my picks for playoff teams.  Not sure what order yet.

I think you can throw WB in the mix as well. I know their 6A record was horrendous, but they should more competitive at this level. BH has the edge on coaching that makes me feel better, but I do think it will be a competitive district, plus you only play 6 district games. Curious to see how it plays out.

I think that's a great idea to do at each realignment. But where does Duncanville move to now? And 6man D1 too?

Louisiana changed up some things to stop the domination of open districts. They spilt into select and non-select divisions. Meaning that non-select teams are home grown talent. I heard the UIL AD in an interview with DCTF say they are currently monitoring what other states have done to see how it can benefit HS FB here in Texas.

Another thing he said was they play 8 regular season games and everyone makes playoffs. Different for sure.

I guess you would top out at 6A D1? 😂
