But that's not what you said. You said if a "kid doesn't like how coaches are running a program" they can make their own decision. A kid not wanting to play anymore is one thing, a parent letting a kid stop liking the sport because of disagreement with how the program is run is completely different.

I think you’re splitting hairs. If a kid for instance doesn’t like the spring workouts for football while playing in season baseball and feels its detrimental to his future in baseball, then the kid and parent need to make a decision if playing football the next season is the right choice. I’m saying that decision is based on the kid and parent and who cares what the football coach thinks about the decision. No knock towards football coaches or any coach, that’s a decision between the kid and his family. It’s a hypothetical situation. Maybe I worded it wrong or you’re taking it the wrong way.

You said a lot there. Truthfully, that is the root of the issue. Who cares what a kid thinks about how coaches are running a program? Kids play, coaches coach. For some reason, parents have this backward in a lot of places and it’s wreaking havoc.

Lol, really? A kid in HS can make his own decision what sport he wants to play or what school activities he wants to participate in. I could care less what the school or coaches think. If the kid doesn’t participate in any sport or school activities, go get a job. Simple.

  3. From personal experience with one of my boys. He played football and baseball until his Junior year. I remember as a Sophomore he was the JV QB and was getting smoked on a regular basis because varsity had all of the big linemen. Lol Needless to say after that season, he went one sport, baseball, and it payed off. He got to play college baseball.

each to their own on multi sports kids, but injuries happen all of the time. If a kid don’t like how coaches are running a program or worried about injuries, then a decision has to be made.

Not many schools, if any in our area, have fall baseball teams. Kids play for teams outside of school during the fall if they want to.

Wrong, a lot of schools west of y’all play a Fall schedule.

Meh.. Everyone knows this. The kid that got injured wasn't lifting weights. Supposedly he was hit with a helmet in his elbow. In my opinion the kid shouldn't have been put in that situation. AD should've told the Varsity baseball players to sit that one out. I have no issues with the lifting or conditioning. However, anytime helmets/pads are on there is a higher risk of injury. This AD showed a total lack of respect for HIS baseball program.

Didn’t sound like it. That’s why I made the comment.

I don’t normally follow baseball, so forgive me if I’m missing this and it’s been posted somewhere else. Anyone have the start time and location for PNG vs BH on Friday, April 26, 2024? I think it’s in BH but I don’t know anything else.

I wouldn’t worry about making the trip honestly. BH is going to win. The only district team to match BH with pitching is Nederland. I wasn’t at the game that BH got blown out, but something weird must’ve happened because BH usually doesn’t lose like that.

I could see the same. I think for them to get an at large they will have to win every series from here on out

They’re going to have win almost all remaining games and get finals of tournament to think about an at-large. When LU was in the WAC, Grand Canyon got an at-large after New Mexico St came out of nowhere to win conference tournament. Grand Canyon had a dang good resume that year. It can happen, but resume wise isn’t in their favor.

It’s not a land issue, it’s a demographic issue. The population in PN-GISD is getting younger. Old folks are dying off, and their homes are being bought by young families moving in with increasing frequency. Factor in that PN-GISD is more attractive than some of its neighbors right now thanks to the newer schools, the quality of education and the recent extracurricular success, and you have an easy explanation for the ~20% enrollment growth that’s occurred over the last ten years while the neighboring Jefferson County districts have all either flat-lined or shrunk. You also have an explanation for Groves posting the highest growth rate in the county and the third highest in the MSA on the 2020 census.

We’re a lot closer to 5ADI numbers than people realize.

I lived down there for close to 20 years, I’m aware of the demographics. PNG will stay under the D1 enrollment for the foreseeable future. The number may rise at HS 200-300, but so will the bottom number of 5A D1. Just don’t see it happening. It’s a good thing for PNG though.

after looking, I will say they’re closer then what I thought.

The cards are climbing up in the RPI. I believe 41 right now. They are only missing the top 25 ranking from D1baseball.com which is who the NCAA uses. I’m really hoping they stay hot ,and can keep on sweeping series and winning midweeks.

What episode are y’all with? I was looking for it, but these site has Lamar SOS at 192?

Yeah I remember that deal… Im still curious if McNeese went to the wac if Lamar would have stayed tho…had this convo with same fans in the stands last year

I think Lamar in SLC is best spot for them honestly for all sports. Now, baseball, I would’ve loved to see them in the American or Sunbelt, but ….

New deal.  McNeese has secured the basketball for longer through '29. Southeastern will now host baseball for '24. Think the bid process for baseball is presently on a year by year basis.

Personally love the SELA stadium and the fans are quite supportive. Would love a return to Lamar or even HCU (if they could secure the Sugarland facility).

Watched the LSU/SELA game the other night and it appeared the lighting around home plate and other areas was horrible. Never been there though.

Hoping southland will host conference ship at Lamar one day

McNeese made a deal with SLC when they thought about going WAC with others, but stayed SLC. SLC rewarded them with a bunch of years hosting the SLC tournament. Not sure when that deal is up.

I know your shot was at him. You even practically stated that in a previous post. My apologies for not humoring on your time line.  I'll clown around more as the season progresses, good or bad.

Just was curious why you weren’t tripping over your clown feet to put some circus post up after the beating your golden boy took. Oh well, look forward to more of your satire posts in the future.
