  1. I'd be fine with that if they moved Northshore elsewhere. But a Pasadena, Baytown district would be better for the program until we get adjusted to 6A. I also heard that there is still talk about rezoning the schools. That could really hurt GCM competitively depending on what areas they move to Sterling, unless it drops GCM back down. It would also likely hurt Sterling as well. Lee is the only school that would stand to gain from it.
  2. I hope your right. If we can find away to put some runs on their ace we just might do it.
  3. Ok tryouts are upon us, the season is about to begin. Let's see some more predictions. In 22 5A I would like to think GCM would prevail but we'll probably see PNG's ace both times we face them. So I'm thinking. 1 PNG 2 GCM 3 Lumberton 4 Vidor / Nederland - I haven't seen any team previews on these two so I'm not sure who to put in this spot. This seasons going to be tough. Whoever gets the DC is going to earn it. I hope GCM proves me wrong and takes it all. I can see the top three teams making some noise in the playoffs.
  4. Gentry had their bye last week, I believe both 8A and 8B are still undefeated. They have Crosby at home tonight.
  5. If you play USSSA, they have tournaments at Carlos Garza Park in Texas City. Those fields are decent. They also have tourneys in BLD, Alvin, and Freedom Park in Katy. Freedom Park is new, haven't seen those fields yet. Nations has tourneys at Baseball USA, Doss Park in NW Houston, and Spring.
  6. My mistake, what did Lumberton lose and what do they have coming back this year?
  7. Not sure what BH has at the upper level, but I know that they have a solid group of sophomores and freshman.
  8. Curious that they have GCM behind Lumberton when GCM is returning the same team that beat them twice last year.
  9. Most of the Pasadena schools are up in the high 3000's in population I believe. Of course that hasn't helped them in football.
  10. Your mistaking them for Barbers "Unlimited Resources" Hill.
  11. Has Dayton, Crosby, and BH ever been split up into three districts like that?
  12. Definitely, the only thing better would be GCM and Sterling forming a 7 team district with the 5 Pasadena schools. But I prefer the Old Coaches projection, I have family in La Porte with a son my boys age and I'm a Channelview grad.
  13. If they start winning will the Hill build him another $60 million dollar stadium?
  14. Baytown Lee in 23 5A. Thats less travel then 22 5A but talk about out of the frying pan and into the fire. Manvel, Angleton, Texas City. At least Santa Fe and Galena Park would give them some chance at winning. I hope they wind up in 21 5A, it makes more sense geogrphically and it's always more exciting to play against your neighbors and develop rivalries. They would be an outsider in dist. 23 just like they are in dist. 22.
  15. No Northshore in 19 6A. That would be nice.
  16. Congrats Coach Jones. I've heard the same thing about being well liked by the players. Hopefully he can raise the bar and get the Patriots ready for some 6A football!
  17. I'll put the VHS tape of Roseanne Barr singing the National Anthem back into the safe. ; )
  18. Ok, so there's no need to use any "frowned upon" interrogation methods on you. No problem.
  19. Just curious, are you privy to some inside information or is that just opinion?
  20. I'm not concerned with topping BH's hire. They're a have we're a have not. I'll be happy if we find the right "fit" regardless of who it is.
  21. So are you saying Flannigan's not going to be the new HC, or it's just not official yet, or is it one of those "If I told ya I'd have to kill ya" kind of things.
  22. GCM only lost one starter and three seniors, returns there entire pitching staff, and also has a strong freshman group coming in. Varsity and JV should be in the running for DC. It's going to be a dog fight with PNG. I expect both schools to make some noise in the playoffs. The biq question is are we going to get the Super Mario we had two years ago or the "pretty good" Mario we had last year. If he pitches like he did his sophmore year GCM's going to be tough to beat.
  23. From the Baytown Sun: GCM football coach search narrows to 10 Posted: Sunday, December 20, 2015 12:00 am Goose Creek CISD’s search for a new head football coach and football has now centered its focus on 10 candidates and hopes to have a group of finalists this week, according to GCCISD athletic director Bernie Mulvaney. “I don’t want this hanging over their heads during Christmas,” Mulvaney said. “I think it’s only right, so I’d like to let them know if they are still in the running early this week.” I can't read the rest of the article. Does anybody know who the ten coaches are?
  24. I don't see Mike Jackson of La Marque on that list but I see his assistant HC. Do any names stand out to any of you on here?
